  1. Your post about Whaley making the trade was something I don't recall hearing before now. The information I recall centered around McD deciding to kick the can down the road and thought he could save Tyrod.... Edit: I found it: ""A year ago, the Buffalo Bills were linked to Mitch Trubisky, partially by me. (It was) confirmed many times throughout the process... Doug Whaley (was) their GM at the time in Buffalo. I was told him and part of the front office really liked Trubisky. I think that's well-founded. They were higher on Trubisky than we were, but Trubisky looks pretty good. I think it was a good decision to be aggressive towards him. I know people close to Trubisky who said that, 'Yeah, he believed he was likely going to be a Buffalo Bill of all the teams out there.' You know a lot of teams liked Trubisky, obviously the Bears did too, but he thought himself that the Bills might be his most likely destination." "But when Sean McDermott got there, (he) really won over a lot of that front office, a lot of that ownership group and they believed in McDermott. And McDermott believed in Tyrod Taylor and he said, 'Hey, let's kick the can on drafting a quarterback right now.' They didn't move up for Trubisky. They moved back and the Chiefs go up and get Pat Mahomes and they took Tre'Davious White, which they're definitely happy with, but they passed on basically two quarterback opportunities they had and that's not counting Deshaun Watson either..."" https://www.newyorkupstate.com/buffalo-bills/index.ssf/2018/02/josh_rosen_to_the_buffalo_bills_is_what_ive_heard_repeatedly_says_eric_galko.html
  2. You simply do not pass on elite, blue chip talent to fill roster holes in the draft. A good scenario from our past would equate to passing on Bruce Smith in order to draft Bill Fralic or Al Toon. There are 2 impact positions that you should be drafting high in rd 1 are an elite QB Prospect and an elite Pass Rushing prospect; those are the 2 game changing positions. Teams that draft to fill holes instead of accumulating elite talent field poor teams...
  3. And that is a big problem for us going into this offseason; free agency doesn't even look to be adequate in the OL area and the WRs are #2s and 3s. We have a lot of $$ but not much to spend it on.
  4. Oh it was a terrible pick and NP looked his way to entire time, just wanted to make sure others here saw the info about KB.
  5. The strength of the defense is in the flats, which is exactly where Peterman throws it. As Licata points out, Peterman thinks he’s doing what he’s taught by “replacing a blitz with a throw,” by throwing where the blitzer is coming from. The second issue with this play is Benjamin. Peterman throws this route as a hitch. Benjamin either ran a lazy out-route or an even lazier hitch route. “Benjamin does nothing to help him,” Licata said. A better receiver will stop on a dime and either catch the pass or break up the interception. Jonathan Joseph said after the game that he saw Benjamin run this route earlier in the game and knew he could jump it. https://theathletic.com/594754/2018/10/18/all-22-former-ub-quarterback-joe-licata-breaks-down-allens-biggest-flaws-and-petermans-pick-six/
  6. Wow you're from Utica and moved to SD? Wife and I did that too, although we are now in LA. I lived down the road from the stadium in SD, by far the worst in the league...
  7. PFT is reporting that it is Kroenke wanting to take back ownership of the Nuggets and Avalanche from his family... You do however bring up an excellent point...
  8. I mean who would have thunk it? Seth Wickersham‏Verified account @SethWickersham FollowFollow @SethWickersham More A major discussion topic among NFL owners/executives at this week’s league meetings is the Chargers’ viability in LA. PSL sales have been a struggle and team is expected to revise its Inglewood revenue goals sharply to a more realistic number: $400m to around $150m, per sources
  9. It might be better to say would you pass on Bruce Smith in 1985 to further show the lunacy of this train of thought...
  10. Brilliant Post and spot on! I will also add that Free Agency doesn't look to be great in regards to OL and WRs (#2s & 3s). An overall massive offensive upgrade for 2019 is not a certainty at all. If we are lucky enough to be at the top of the draft, you cannot pass on these defensive prospects.
  11. Kroenke taking the Nuggets and Avalanche back from his family...
  12. Nathan Peterman is the best quarterback, we have all the best quarterbacks... Jacobs couldn't because he was an ownere and not an owner
  13. Seth Wickersham‏Verified account @SethWickersham 8m8 minutes ago More NFL owners have voted to end the existing cross ownership rule.
