  2. from 2013: Les Bowen‏Verified account @LesBowen LeSean McCoy has been calling Matt Barkley "Mark." Thought that was his name, until reporters corrected him. "He never said anything."
  3. Peter Schrager‏Verified account @PSchrags 1m1 minute ago More Free agent QB Matt Barkley is set to visit Buffalo tomorrow afternoon. Could sign this week and potentially be the Bills number 2 QB on Sunday. @gmfb
  4. Jason La Canfora‏Verified account @JasonLaCanfora 15s16 seconds ago More Eagles are still actively pursuing several potential trade targets. The will to make more moves is there just depends on the right player at the right price don't take things down to the deadline. That's generally how they operate
  5. Jason La Canfora‏Verified account @JasonLaCanfora 1m1 minute ago More Broncos were never going to get much for DT based on age, contract and decline in play. 4th rounder best they could do. Still shopping LB Brandon Marshall and edge Shane Ray and could move a corner as well
  6. Looks done: Ian Rapoport‏Verified account @RapSheet 32s32 seconds ago More Terms: The #Texans are trading for #Broncos WR Demaryius Thomas in exchange for a 4th round pick and the teams are also swapping 7th rounders. Big move for Houston. Jeff Darlington‏Verified account @JeffDarlington FollowFollow @JeffDarlington More As trade deadline nears, one league source says it’s “highly unlikely” we see LeSean McCoy on the move today. Several teams reached out to Bills, but Buffalo wasn’t the ones making the calls. Teams are sensing Bills holding firm on keeping him... so far.
  7. I don't see McD as a coach who will say what he envisions and where he would ideally like aspects of his team to be like. My thought is that talk like that would alienate players who are on the team and don't fit that scheme. Culture is important to him and he has to say the right things to keep the team playing and buying into each other week after week. We all know that Dennison was not the OC he wanted last year and took what he could get. The OC style we want vs what we can get has to play into it as well. Clarity as to what he is looking for is based on who stays and who goes. Not to side track this, but a fairly simple scheme in which you can run multiple plays out of the same formation isn't necessarily a bad thing. That being said, I'm a bit over a HC saying we going no-huddle like Dickey J and Marrone & Nate.
  8. Not really no. The offense has not really been a focus of anything since McD came here. Yeah we have taken a couple O-linemen, Zay and Allen. Last years moves with Matthews and Gaines was to get picks and clear cap space. KB came as we started a push for the playoffs, if that push didn't happen, chances are we wouldn't have traded for him. That move was a reaction to make sure that the locker room was not lost. The plan all along has been a slow style tear down and the defense has been the focus of FA and the drafts to a degree. Our offensive players are generally still from the Marrone/Rex years or small role players brought in - that's it...
  9. I know and I hope you are wrong Being serious for a moment, how does a defensive coach fall into the trap of lets have a strong run game and a stout defense mold in the first place? They have to game plan against the Pats, the Rams, Brees, Rodgers, P. Manning etc. and they know they have their hands full trying to cover everyone - how do they not mirror an offense that gives defenses fits? How do they not work on an offense that they know gives defenses issues? You would think that by analyzing what keeps them up at night to stop, they would include those same philosophies in their approach to the offensive side of the ball.
  10. Those are the players we have. I'm willing to give them a shot to see how to offense changes once we start adding players to this side of the ball...
  11. There is an element of truth about it - you can't build dome team here and the running game is still important (Gurley & the Rams, Saints, Chiefs) and the players left on our offense are still vestiges of those systems from Marrone and Rex. As a bills fan and seeing what we have done in the past with this, I entirely understand the concern. He also cut his coaching chops under Andy Reid, so I do have some hope.
  12. I can't kill him for it yet, because that area of the team has been torn down and not rebuilt - I have no clue what his "vision" is at this point. I can kill someone or many people for addressing the defense instead of the offense this past offseason. Mostly due to this being a strong defensive draft coming up, lack of good offensive weapons available in this upcoming wave of FA and the fact that we took a QB at 7 which was always part of our plans. I get there were some financial constraints, but we screwed the pooch a bit there IMO...
  13. You are correct. There are 2 paths to turnover a roster, the way we are doing it and Oakland's. With Oakland, you dump it all in one shot and move on quickly; we went the 3 year route of slowly turning over the roster and attempting to be somewhat competitive. With the path we chose, you need the older vets to supplement the youth movement. We are in a bind this offseason with it being a heavy defensive draft and not a great offensive draft and the FA class isn't awesome; not an ideal situation. I would hope that we don't bypass talent in RD1 to be cute and try to fill holes...
  14. I don't think McD is a bad head coach. Last year the talent on the roster was crap and it is even worse this year, team plays hard, especially on D. Provided he doesn't screw up and lose the locker room, he should stay as HC. I do think that the Pegulas may have over reacted with the Whaley-Marrone, Whaley-Rex and Russ Brandon non-sense and over-corrected with their org structure. We don't really know how much personnel say McD, but it appears he has a lot of say and that is what may need to change...
  15. Last couple years, we have been turned down in FA and I am a bit concerned about that this year as well, especially on the offensive side of the ball. How do we convince the first decent WR (let's assume a WR2) to sign with us over other teams with a more established QB situation and better offense? More players may follow after you get some talent, right now there is none. I have been coming around more to the keep Shady and trade for D. Thomas way of thinking to accumulate some talent that won't be here too long to "prime-the-pump" for FA signings. Our QB situation is also going to cause a lot of balk from the WR group as well. I'm concerned
  16. You don't pass on an Oliver or a Bosa if they are right around where you are picking, especially at the top of the draft - EVER. If you are at the top of the draft, you don't trade back to plug holes - that is an awful way to draft. Talent, especially blue chip talent in Round 1 always must be taken and not traded away for needs.High end talent is mostly taken at the top of the draft, blue chippers are generally at the top of the draft and blue chippers are long term players to build around. Trading down to accumulate picks is short term thinking aimed at plugging a hole. The Bills biggest problem is not having enough blue chip talent to build around (see Watkins, Woods, Goodwin, Dareus). These players are role players that you can supplement your blue chip talent with. Mack is a blue chipper, but we went to fill a hole with WR in a WR heavy draft, DT was a need and we took Shitner because we needed a safety, we passed on Mahomes because we thought TT was good enough and we liked a CB.
  17. BTW, I wasn't saying that to poke at you; my comment just tied into your post a little bit. I am concerned about this offseason and how we can get WRs especially here with our QB situation (Garbage backups & yet-to-be developed rookie) as it currently stands. The market will be competitive for these guys and we will not be a top choice unless we overpay. IIRC, last year we ran into that with OLmen...
  18. Nope. Cannot pass up on any blue chip talent if we are in the top 5. Blue chippers mean way more to a team than more draft picks that are not blue chip level players
  19. Chances are we are going to end up overpaying FA WRs and OLmen to come and play here this offseason
  20. The Legend of Nick Foles = Tyrod just needs more time and better weapons
  21. They showed something about the Buffalo Bills on ESPN? Most of the stuff I saw was on the greatness of Marcia Lady and the Cheats aside from the weird ass CG of the QBs, Randy Moss career highlights, Rand Moss at Niagara Falls and Young eating Applebees wings with Ranch...
  22. Kelvin Benjamin is an example on the offensive side of the ball Nathan Peterman is an example on the offensive side of the ball
