  1. I am not in love with an RB @9, but if he is BPA and we can get what 7-8 years out of him; I think I am okay with that. A dynamic RB with Allen as a pass/run threat isn't a bad thing at all. I think I would be more okay with this than reaching. I am not sure I would take him over TJ since I think finding a TE is more difficult.
  2. It makes a ton of sense to go this route, truly opens you up for BPA in the draft and vets can play the line much quicker than rookies, which will help Allen tremendously.
  3. Dwayne Allen, you are the next contestant on You're Price is Wrong
  4. Justin Houston Come on down... https://twitter.com/MattVerderame/status/1102683156853997569
  5. The more pressure you can generate without blitzing, the better. What also helps is that Brady does not like pressure up the middle
  6. If QBs do indeed get pushed up the board, it is going to be hard to pass on (I'm stealing this from Bandit btw) chossing between a couple of these guys Nick Bosa Quinnen Williams Josh Allen Josh Jacobs Ed Oliver Christian Wilkins Jawaan Taylor Rashan Gary Devin White Jeffrey Simmons TJ Hockenson Each of these players is better than Metcalf and I agree with Bandit that Simmons just doesn't seem like a process guy off the field. And if Bosa or Allen or in the impossible event that Both of them are there, get them both!
  7. I don't disagree with any of this btw. I think it is is the best of both worlds, he is out there to block and he also could be a receiver, unlike when you have a blocking TE and another guy who is your receiver TE, it kinda telegraphs what you are trying to do. Also he can help keep Allen upright which is a huge plus
  8. I like Fant too! “We're looking for guys that can get open and catch the ball,” McDermott said. “I know it should go without saying but it's not making more complicated than it is. At the end of the day, a wide receiver’s job is to get open and catch the football.”
  9. Cannot take an incomplete player like Metcalf at 9 with some really good elite talent will be there ripe for the picking on the lines, which is a helluva lot more important to us than a WR, with these holes. Even if we traded back a bit, I still wouldn't touch him in Rd#1... John Miller, Groy and Mills will not be back and Bodine was awful last year. Also Kyle retired and McD loves a great DL rotation, especially with Shag and his option, Murphy is still an unknown - I just don't see a WR this high, maybe K'neal Harry, but I just don't see a WR in rd 1. An Elite DL or one of the Top OL guys is a certainty.
  10. His shuttle and three cone are beyond atrocious (Tom Brady had better times). He is a huge target who it seems has issues with bending and changing direction, which is what you also want in a WR. Having top 5 measurables in every other category is awesome, but can he quickly change direction, properly transition through a route, have issues with agility at all including body control? It is sheer ignorance to ignore this and fall for a fast 40 time, his frame and a bunch of bench press reps....Plenty of failures like this a littered throughout the NFL Edit: Alshon Jeffrey is not worth a #9 pick either. Also there are better players and possibly elite talent falling down to us at #9 if QBs start to get pushed up the board. This is too high for Metcalf IMO and we can be better served drafting BPA and going after elite blue chip talent. #9 is going to be a lineman, whether it is OL or DL is yet to be determined.
  11. If we just run one of our WRs in a straight line and require no cutting - DK all the way. If you want a real NFL WR, I don't see DK being that guy. In any event drafting this high with this talented of a draft class, no way is DK worthy of #9
  12. Maybe he just bought and ate some of the PEDleman burgers?
  13. He was on the Jets and that team was a disaster last year with a HC that was a dead man walking, coincidentally the jets are possibly an even worse dumpster fire now...
  14. He is by far better than most of our OL on the roster and you need solid depth. He is fairly cheap and can play both G and C, this changes no plans. There seem to be some good Cs in this draft and don't count out us going after a good FA Center Like Morse. He may be an adeqaute starting G for us as well. I really don't see us blowing tons of cash on a full new FA OL. I expect 1 or 2 bigger signings on the OL and a bunch of moves like this while we wait for rookies or our 1 yr players to develop more.
