  1. I turned 42 in January and you can feel a difference - it blows LOL
  2. Sigh, I wish I was still in my 30s. When you sneeze, you can hurt a muscle and when I eat a donut my ass jiggles for a week (if I'm lucky).
  3. The best case scenario in this draft is that 1-2 QBs get drafted in the top 10 and push talent down. Edit: 2020 not sure who this draft class shapes out, but as of now 111 underclassmen declared for the 2019 draft which will take some good talent off the board next year
  4. He is a WR and not an RB, his stats do not indicate any drop off or change in production or even give an inclination that he is on the decline, he is remarkably injury free, has an outstanding training regimen, etc. He is still producing at such a high level, even when he enters his decline he will still be better than many starting WRs in the league. AB does not appear to be the talent that falls of a ledge due to injuries and age, his trajectory as of now is closer to a Rice, Tim Brown and (even though not the same class of WR) Steve Smith. For the next 3 seasons unless major injury he is still projected to produce as a top 10 WR, years 4,5,6 he will most likely decline due to age, but still be remarkably productive enough to justify this contract. It is very much doubtful he will fall of the cliff.
  5. A big, fast TE who can catch to go with our speedy WRs and RBs would be a great addition - but not at 9
  6. I think you are 10000% correct. I would add that they should have not had a problem giving him the money - his numbers have yet to have a drop off and honestly when his decline hits in 4,5 or 6 years his contract will pay him the equivalent of what Watkins is making now and he will still be "good", most likely not elite, but still a very good WR. I do however get their reservations about handing out $$ after what he did to get out of Pitts.
  7. and just think of this; with bad hips and a broken leg he is still better than Bodine and Groy
  8. If Taylor or Oliver are there at 9 - we snag them at 9. I am not ruling out a trade back in rd 1 for Hock though; how we pull that off is another question.
  9. https://www.sny.tv/giants/news/odell-beckham-jr-trade-why-giants-decided-to-deal-pain-in-the-ass-receiver/305138080 "He had become too much of a pain in the ass," said one source familiar with the situation. "And there was a real fear that eventually it would get worse Also, they did not feel he was truly happy playing in New York and for a Giants franchise that was struggling, one source said. And after seeing the way Antonio Brown forced his way out of Pittsburgh over the last few months, there was a worry that in a year or two - especially if the Giants and their quarterback continued to struggle -- Beckham could go that route, too. Behind the scenes, it got worse. Beckham didn't hide his unhappiness with the offense, particularly when talking to his fellow receivers. Manning publicly remained supportive of Beckham, and insisted he wasn't affected by his receiver's seeming lack of support. But some of his friends were sure Manning was bothered by what seemed like a needless distraction. Gettleman clearly decided that for all Beckham's ability, his effect on his team was an overall negative. And if Manning struggled again this year, and Beckham had to deal with a rookie quarterback, it had the potential to get worse over time. And Gettleman's biggest concern with the Giants was the "culture" he was creating. "I've been to seven (Super Bowls)," Gettleman said. "And every single team had a great locker room. I'm telling you. I've been to seven of them and they all had great locker rooms. Part of the responsibility of a general manager is to eliminate distractions. Allow players to play and coaches to coach. And unfortunately, guys that have character issues create distractions. They do." https://www.sny.tv/giants/news/giants-gm-dave-gettleman-trading-odell-beckham-jr-was-purely-football-decision/305367416 "We didn't sign him to trade him, but obviously things changed," Gettleman said on a conference call with reporters on Monday. "Another team made us an offer we couldn't refuse." A source told SNY's Ralph Vacchiano shortly after the deal went down that Beckham had "become a pain in the ass" and that there was a fear it could get worse. The Giants GM revealed he spoke with three teams about Beckham but initiated just one conversation, which was with Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane, whom Gettleman has a close relationship with and knew was interested in Antonio Brown. "I called Buffalo after learning they had conversations on Antonio Brown," he said. "I good-naturedly chided Brandon about not calling us and that's where it ended."
  10. AB would be easier, since the draft picks were a lot less in terms of compensation. This year's class is pretty damn good and I would have not liked giving up a pair of them at the top for OBJ. I just don't see us being at a point where he would put us over the top this season.
  11. You are correct about the 10 yr deal - the pissed off reaction from the fan base nudged Hal enough to sign someone "big" and that was Ellsbury - who still can't play this damn year. I also beyond irritated about Harper
  12. That's how the Yankees ended up with Ellsbury instead of resigning Cano
  13. A year to soon for us IMO is my issue. We really need the picks this season, as we have more expiring contracts next season with some aging players and this is a pretty damn deep draft.
  14. Kelly didn't ask you the right question, what if it's Ko Simpson?
  15. never said he was on beane, he was on McD for starting him
  16. McD can be too conservative for my liking at times, but he sure gets the team up and ready to play and even over their talent level. Peterman and all of those other decisions make me scratch my head as well, but we will see how he does when this year, with what I assume will be much better talent...
  17. It was actually $70.3 million dead cap which is almost 40% of the entire cap...
