  1. We are in a good place to get a transformational player this year and hopefully we won't be in that position again for a while - strike while the iron is hot and it is easier to maneuver around for said player. Personally no I don't want DK at 9, but I can get behind it with his traits and for his potential to transform this team. This is not the year for a meh, safe option player IMO.
  2. Allbright is tuned in and he nailed Allen and plenty of other moves. I think he was first, how often does the other media actually hear to from the same source or is borrowing info from someone else who already reported it. This close to the draft, if something new pops up, I truly don't buy it. Like I said from his athletic profile, he fits the criteria. We tried to trade for AB and who knows where we truly were with OBJ - the signs can easily point WR. Daboll is a wild card. The Pats, they don't have a clear #1; Pats love TEs, Panthers with Olsen, Pats had Moss. It's tough this year to predict and see what we will do. I think it depends on how the draft falls, if ARZ passes on Murray there will be a rush up to #2 and the Jets and OAK and TB will get a ton of calls.
  3. Personally, I'm ballsy and I would try to get a bit higher if possible, but not to the edge of stupidity. Our cap situation is good and I would be gunning for blue chip this year at 1, I am of the mindset to give next year's 1 and preserve our 2nd this year (provided a blue chip is available and a deal is able to be made). We have enough ammo left to move back into round 3. The fact is blue chip rarely hits the market and role players frequently do. Identify, draft and retain your blue chippers use future drafts and FAs to fill out the roster. Once ready to move on from a blue chipper, you trade them and maneuver in the draft to get his replacement. We are at a place with this team that it should presumably start it's upward climb, now my be our best chance to make a move to grab an elite guy while drafting in the single digits for some time, the cost to grab one only gets more expensive here on out (since we will be a better and more winning team). It's like Beane has said (paraphrasing): 1.) Positional value in the round 2.) As far as positional rankings, you have top-tier, mid-tier and the rest 3.) If the draft has a lot of depth you can push that position down the draft 4.) "I think defensive front. I think there's definitely some depth there, it looks like, early on." “I think it’s solid. I don’t know if I want to label it as off-the-charts great." You have to look at the separation between the tiers. The gap between the tiers for the WRs is relatively small (and there is no clear cut #1) , TEs (Hock clearly #1 - the rest are similar & don't forget he wants a run blocker, pass blocker and someone who can catch), DL has a sizeable gap in the tiers (Wlliams, Bosa, Allen & Oliver) and he basically admits that. OL has depth, but not top must have talent in the tiers.
  4. That is why I don't buy it, last year everything was very close to the vest and nothing seems to leak from OBD. You cannot rule him out though as he does fit the "athleticism" and potential that we went for last year in RD1 (very high ceiling and an outstanding athletic profile).
  5. Beane has said on a couple of occasions that if you trade back you might as well trade out of the round. I expect some surprises, and the Jets most certainly want/need to move back. Oliver is being dangled to try to drum up interest. The problem is no trades will happen until ARZ is off the clock. 9 to 6 is like a 3rd rounder - palatable.
  6. Also to justify Bosa a bit more, from Peter King this morning: "They could decide to take the best edge-rusher (Nick Bosa)—who I hear is the choice of many in the building—or the best player (Quinnen Williams) in the draft... I hear the Cardinals think of Bosa as a “generational player,”
  7. I want a particular set of guys and I expect them all to be gone unless we move up for them (which I am ok with depending on the trade value and the player) - they are best players in the draft for a reason. Where I see the state of our team is that we need another blue chipper or 2, we need to be both smart and aggressive. I expect some disappointments that don't work out here and there (it is the natural probability of the world); however, our FO, so far, has not given me a reason to doubt them. What I hope for is that some teams (stupidly) draft based on needs or that their evaluations and grades are close enough with the players I covet, that they lean to fill the need. JAX for instance can use OL and they take Taylor over a DT for instance even though they may have a great DT sitting there for them. If they have a path to get Kyler, the keys to Carr would be given away and he would quickly be driven out of town.
  8. Entirely what they should do It's possible that they are hoping Oakland trades up for him. It might be very quite to not upset Carr. I do think they will take him, which I just don't feel is the right move for them. If they can move back, it will be significantly better for the entire franshise
  9. The Cards chose Bosa! Only one, but not enough to move. I was hoping to slide back an accumulate some picks
  10. I am definitely listening for legit trade offers and we are open for business. Serious inquiries only please
  11. My comment had nothing to do about Clark, just about Ian R and his reputation right now
  12. Tobe fair the GM will be gone in a year or 2 and at that point I am sure the HC as well...
  13. Their GM is going to get schitcanned very soon. Here is the Jets draft: Round 1: N.Y. Jets Round 2: None Round 3: N.Y. Jets, New Orleans Round 4: N.Y. Jets Round 5: N.Y. Jets Round 6: None Round 7: N.Y. Jets
  14. **Third tier Top tier is Bosa, Williams, Alllen, Oliver possibly Sweat and Devin White Moving back for less than a second rounder would not be worth it IMHO
  15. Correct! One thing that has been missing on our team is blue chippers. For countless years or drafting philosophy was to fill holes, yes you can fill holes when you look at BPA, but our problem was reaching to fill holes and not placing proper round value on positions. Aside from QB a D lineman who can create havoc in the pocket is a huge, glaring hole on this team and their are 4 real good blue chip talents at the top of this draft that are that much more superior than the rest. While I would love to surround Allen with every great player, the talent separation in both the depth in the WR and TE positional rankings and even in comparison to these 4 is much smaller. Get a few All Pros to build around and don't over draft positions based on "need".
  16. Not even in the ball park. But I do think they are a perfect team who would take a 2020 first instead of a 2nd this year
  17. I doubt there would be an in-division trade like this. I find it more likely everyone stays away from that...
