  1. I like one of the favorites to win the race: My main win bet will be on Rock Your World, but I'm also betting a bomb to win, place, &show: Dynamic One. I'm going to put them together in an exacta box & hope they run 1-2.
  2. The original deal with Denver for #5 to get Josh was both 1sts & a 2nd. When Denver backed out to draft Chubb, Beane ended up keeping the 1st & used the other 2nd instead.
  3. You're obviously not a racing fan. To those of us who are, we are not just watching the Derby coverage, in fact the last thing we want to do is watch the complete network broadcast with nonsense like Johnny Weir & Tara Lipinski at the Derby. I've yet to ever speak with a horse racing fan who looks forward to the annual appearance of that duo. I'm going to be watching the other races both at Churchill Downs & other tracks. I'll have on TVG or the OTB channel on TV and I will be watching the track feed from my OTB account on the computer starting before noon. There will be a dozen or more races at Churchill Downs that are not the Kentucky Derby.
  4. Another one who is ignoring the fact that Sam Wyche was one of the top QB coaches in the league. He was not past his prime as another poster wrote. The only time a coach is past his prime is if he doesn't keep up with changes in the league & Wyche was an innovator not a dinosaur. The people who say he was poorly coached are the ones past their prime. I thought getting Sam Wyche to coach the QBs was a brilliant move. He had nothing to work with.
  5. I can't believe I typed 2015 instead of 2005. Senior moment. I went back & edited my OP.
  6. I think the main reason for the delay is because the imports from the USA can't cross the border & play.
  7. When JP started in 2005 I predicted the Bills would win 12 games-woops! In 2017 when Tyrod was in a slump and people were calling for Peterman, I was calling him Nathan Marangi telling them to be careful what you wish for. Only as a quarterback, not as a QB coach. He wasn't being asked to be a head coach and he was probably one of the best QB coaches in the NFL when he was JP's coach.
  8. JP's QB coach was Sam Wyche, one of the best in the business for a position coach. If coaching made such a difference JP would be on the Wall of Fame. The only people who wanted Josh gone were the stat boys who don't know how to watch a game without a stat sheet.
  9. Anyone should know that if you do that they'll find your DNA & lock you up. Sent from my prison cell.
  10. He wasn't ruined. Our scouts sucked when they were drafting guys like Collins, JP & Edwards and recommending trades for Rob Johnson & Billy Joe Hobert. We may have had a stretch when the drought started where we had the worst QB evaluators in the league. Butler was on record as saying he would have chosen Leaf over Manning & when they both were going to be drafted higher than the Bills spot they traded for Rob. JP was just another in a line of bad QBs our scouts recommended.
  11. In 1977 I was traveling across the country and stopped in Chicago for a day. I went to a Cubs game with my car packed with most of my belongings and parked at a church near Wrigley. I came back & they told me the keys were under the floor mat. I would have never have left it there if I knew what they would do with the keys. I guess they figured nobody would harm a car parked at their church. The car had no seat on the passenger side & the floor was reconstructed with wood & tin, so I guess they also thought my car was the last one anyone would take.
  12. If the stadium is at full capacity, you can usually find some tickets when they put them on sale. If not the secondary market is going to be very expensive. 2 years ago I wanted to go to the Eagles game & sit in a good seat. The secondary market was so outrageous, I ended up buying a club seat from the team for over $300 and that was the season before the Bills ended up in the AFC championship game.
  13. College ADs leave abandoned Mercedes all the time, usually in front of a top recruit's house with the keys & a title in the glovebox.
  14. I can't watch on day 3 because they are running the Kentucky Derby that day. Otherwise, I'd be watching every minute. The NFL needs to move the draft back to where it used to be, one week before the Derby so I can have draft weekend one week & Kentucky Derby Saturday the next.
  15. Nobody knows what Belichick thinks about drafting QBs because for 20 years he was only drafting for backup QBs.
  16. It drives me crazy when I see someone on TV or on the radio say that after his 1st 2 seasons Josh was headed towards the bust column (Cowherd is among the worst of them) because they looked at stats totally out of context. Those of us who rely on watching games without a stat sheet could see the special things he is capable of doing. Now in all fairness to those skeptics, he did have a rough 2nd season throwing the (low % for just about every NFL QB) deep passes but that was in part due to the fact he kept throwing the low % throws. I remember before Diggs arrived I'd be watching some of the top QBs be bailed out because they had a true #1 WR to throw to & I'd be thinking if Josh had a guy like that to throw to everyone would get off his case.
  17. I think the Raiders get him for free. Gruden seems to like ex-Bills as much as McDermott & Beane like ex-Panthers.
  18. Every fan should go to at least 1 draft. Mine was in 1997 the 1st day in NYC (Bills drafted Antowain Smith) Now the reason I went was because I had to be at my parents house in Long Island that weekend & they didn't have cable, so I either had to go or not see it. My father drove me to the railroad station at 4:30 AM, I got to Penn Station where the draft was around the corner & went to the line to get a wrist band since it was 1st come 1st served. Once I got my wristband with a number I had some time to kill, so I went back to Penn station. At one time during my wait I went into the Long Island Railroad waiting area. There were some homeless people there sleeping. A short time after I arrived, while I was reading that day's newspapers & my draft materials, the police came & kicked out everyone without a railroad ticket. After I produced my round trip ticket, I was just about the only one left after the homeless got evicted. A couple of hours later I went to the line to get into the smaller building next to Madison Square Garden then called the Felt Forum. I got in chose a seat as close to where they allowed fans-the media had seats reserved closer to the stage in front of us, so I was about 2-3 rows behind the media. They had a concession stand for food & pick the draft contests. They gave out some draft information with the contest so that nobody was picking blind. Overall it was a good experience, but I never went back because at home I can have the TV on, switch to the different stations covering the draft (It used to be 1 but now it's 3) and I can listen to WGR on the computer. One year I had 2 TVs on and WGR on in the bedroom I used as an office, all at the same time.
  19. I've had a problem with the draft since it was moved to the final Thursday of April. It used to be a week earlier and I'd watch every round. Now it's the same weekend as the Kentucky Derby and Derby day is all horse racing for me. I used to have the draft & then the next week the Derby. I hate that the 2 are now in conflict. I'll still watch Thursday & Friday, but the draft just isn't the same for me on Derby weekend since I'll still be handicapping the horses the days of the draft. Last year it didn't matter because they moved the Derby to later in the year & I didn't even consider it a real Derby so I had the draft & football season with no Derby conflict.
  20. I think the Chargers over is the best bet of the bunch. I can't see them worse than 10-7 & they'll end up winning 11 or 12 games. No Anthony Lynn, who may have been the worst gameday coach in the league and forward career movement of their potential franchise QB in his 2nd year. I didn't play any over/unders last year but in 2019 I was all over the Bills. At the casino in Schenectady you could bet over up to 9 games & whether they would make the playoffs. The odds got better the higher I went. I tiered my bets so the break even point was 8 wins. I swept all my bets.
  21. What's interesting is I got my Excelsior Pass & it expires on 9/22. I guess they're waiting to see if a booster shot will be needed. I also have my CDC card. After the DMV rejected my birth certificate for my enhanced license because I taped it because it was falling apart, I'm not laminating anything from the government unless they instruct us to do so. (Fortunately I had another copy that I had sent away for so I was able to get my enhanced license)
