Gameday Postgame Thread Bills 16 Lions 15
Albany,n.y. replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The whole key is who they can have clear waivers. Davis might be easier to get on the practice squad without being claimed. As long as he's not claimed, Davis will be on the practice squad all year. Yes, they said so on the WGR postgame show. -

Lions fired their head trainer. I have no clue what that's all about. -

The line was a bunch of bartenders. The main guy was Fromm. -

He was already deep in the Lions territory (in long FG range) after the long downfield throw to Stevenson on 4th down. They were purposely doing sideline passes to see if he could be accurate on late drives where you're just trying to improve the FG yardage. Regular season with Josh in there they run because they don't need to evaluate the QB. -

Then you don't see what Fromm can do. Seeing Fromm throw was more important than worrying about situational football with most of the guys on the field being guys who won't be here in September. They have a big decision to make on Fromm because Trubisky is on a 1 year contract & they want to see if Fromm can be the backup in 2022. -

He was passing because he wanted to see Fromm throwing to win the game. He doesn't learn about Fromm by handing off. He did a lot of stuff you don't do during the season because the major point of preseason is cutting the right guys & not cutting the promising ones. Any doubts look at Wyatt Teller. They were going to cut him & traded him-big mistake that they don't want to make again. -

Wildgoose is wearing OJ's old number & he tried to kill the Bills tonight. Or... Wildgoose may be wearing 32, but he lacks the killer instinct. -

The biggest disappointment for me was Rachad Wildgoose. When he was drafted he said his goal was the Hall of Fame, the only hall he's headed for is the one after he cleans out his locker. -
How will you out of town fans watch the game tonight?
Albany,n.y. replied to Kwai San's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Albany has Titans/Falcons, probably because the Bills game is on a local station & they have a blackout on the NFL Network. I've seen them do that before when the Giants were on a local station & were the NFL Network's main game. -

Not across the state. Here in Albany we have a local station that is part of the Bills preseason network & we're guaranteed the Bills announcers. Chances are the NFL Network will be carrying the Lions broadcast. -
2021 NFL Record and Fact Book-link to PDF
Albany,n.y. replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When The Sporting News stopped publishing the Pro Football Guide after 2006, I switched to the NFL Record and Fact Book. I used to buy a copy every August for around $20. 2014 was the last year they sold a printed copy. Now they give it away, but only in an electronic file. Sometimes I print out the schedule & the Bills pages. Same thing with the Bills media guides. the last one that was printed was in 2008. I used to buy the hard copies at the Bills Store near the stadium parking area. I have an opinion but the last time I shared it after a post like your post I got a warning point so I'll keep my opinion to myself. -

Too bad so many people don't read newspapers. No wonder people are walking around with no clue what's going on in the world, believing wild conspiracies they find on the free internet. You get what you pay for. -

All 3 that I read every day. Buffalo News, Albany Times Union, NY Post. I get the same edition as the print version. Total cost this year is $240. A bargain. -

Where do you think I read my newspapers? On the internet & most articles on the internet are not free unless you are limited in your reading choices. Kid, get off my lawn. -
Most of them were late round stabs where the percentage of success in the NFL is pretty low. If a college with a long time head coach had about 5 or more 1st round busts, then I might be concerned it's just the system. But still, don't judge a QB by his predecessors. The reason Aaron Rodgers slipped in the draft was because his college coach, Ted Tedford, as a QB coach, OC & head coach was associated with 1st round NFL dissapointments Akili Smith, Joey Harrington, Trent Dilfer & Kyle Boller. By the time Rodgers entered the 2005 draft NFL teams were afraid to draft a Tedford coached QB, thinking it was more his system that made them look good in college.

I think it's pretty funny saying college XXXX doesn't produce QBs. Before Josh there were 3 Wyoming QBs drafted in the NFL draft. The 1st 2 were Jim Walker taken in the 16th round of 1960 and played in the CFL, never in the NFL, and Rick Egloff taken in the 6th round by the Raiders in 1967, never played, got traded to Denver a year later, never played & his only professional career was a year in the CFL. The only other QB out of Wyoming was Casey Bramlet taken in the 7th round by the Bengals in 2004 and had a journeyman backup career for a few years in the NFL. You never know where the next great QB is going to come from.

Usually going into their 4th season, you know how the 1st round QBs are shaking out. The 2018 draft was a strange one. Josh Rosen flamed out faster than any other 1st round QB that I can remember. Darnold has been in such a bad situation I have no idea if he's a bust or if he has a future. The Jets offensive talent last year was as bad as the 2018 Bills.

Hard Knocks 2021: Dallas Cowboys
Albany,n.y. replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
One thing I noticed that was different this year was they usually show the homes of some players with the wives or girlfriends getting ready to go to camp. This year they never showed the women or the homes. I though he got a raw deal when the Raiders fired him. Then I watched Hard Knocks & I wondered who would ever hire this guy as a head coach.
