  1. They're pumping in fake crowd noise. I'm not sure if it's just on the broadcast or over the PA at the stadium. Either that or all people on the sidelines have been instructed to make a lot of noise since there are more members of both teams combined than fans in the stands.
  2. If it's such a well known belief, there are a lot of GMs who didn't get notified. In the last 10 drafts 16 RBs have been selected in the 1st round, 4 in the top 4 of the entire draft. In the 20s, where the Bills are drafting, 4 have been drafted in the last 4 drafts. So I guess it's almost anyone but the NFL GMs. Here's the list: 2021- Harris (24), Etienne (25) 2020- Edwards-Helaire (32) 2019- Jacobs (24) 2018- Barkley (2), Perry (27), Michel (31) 2017- Fournette (4), McCaffrey (8) 2016- Elliott (4) 2015-Gurley (10), Gordon (15) 2013-Paterson (29) 2012-Richardson (3), Martin (31), Wilson (32)
  3. Since he's the one who posted it I took it as his belief & responded to his post, not taking it as he was relaying some league wide belief. Most people here are posting their own opinions, not stating the beliefs of others. That's what I'm expecting when I read a post.
  4. Indy didn't intentionally tank the season-they brought in Kerry Collins to replace Manning but he only lasted 3 games before going on IR. What were they supposed to do at that point-mortgage the future for a journeyman backup like the year the Vikings gave up a #1 for Sam Bradford? They got stuck with no QBs during the season & it cost the coach & GM their jobs. If they were purposely tanking why would they have cleaned house of the team's management? These guys got blamed for not winning & got fired.
  5. I was always talking about fellow posters since that's the reference point when I'm talking on this board. Who else would I be referring to when I used to words similar comments to your POST. It is always with OTHER POSTERS OPINIONS, unless one specifically cites a member of the media or team. I'm not expecting Beane or McDermott to join in and be part of our discussion.
  6. There were plenty of posters in 2018 who didn't want to trade up for a QB-check the archives.
  7. Our local news (Ch 10) just had an economist from Massachusetts who knocked the deal. The idiots in the media at this end of the state won't give up.
  8. Beane wouldn't be drafting a RB hoping he's the next Terry Miller. I can cite busts at any position if I want to say no 1st rounder is ever worth the risk. For years there were advocates of never drafting a 1st round QB making similar comments to your post. Thankfully Beane didn't agree with them.
  9. If a player like Thurman Thomas has a 5th year option, no team would hesitate to either pick it up or sign him to a long term extension.
  10. We're not drafting in the top 10 anymore. People need to realize that when your team is drafting near the end of the 1st round you will not get to draft again until the late 2nd round and if the sweet spot for RBs is early 2nd round if you want one you either use a 1st rounder or lose the player. You can't count on a trade up or trade down. It's not the same mentality as drafting in the top 10.
  11. As long as Josh is happy with McDermott, McDermott's job is safe. The only time McDermott will be on the hot seat is if he POs Josh. The bottom line is the franchise QB is the decider if a coach stays or goes-see Brady & Rodgers who both have been the real reason for coaching changes.
  12. He was one of the XFL's best QBs and was on some NFL practice squads including KC.
  13. I froze the screen after they showed the stands. They're lucky if they have 50 people attending the game. There are more players on the sidelines than fans in the stands.
  14. There aren't many,if any, fans in the stands. Looks like Highmark 2020.
  15. The restaurant owner's argument makes no sense in the Bills case. Does the restaurant owner own the land and building he runs his business or does he rent from someone else who owns the property LIKE THE BILLS DO? If he rents it, did he pay the entire cost to build the building, because if he did the owner fleeced him. Maybe he paid to make the restaurant fit the owner's building, but he would be a fool to build the building unless he owns it & has a land lease. If he owns everything then it makes sense for him to have built the restaurant himself because he controls all of the property and ISN'T A TENANT-THE BILLS ARE TENANTS, NOT OWNERS OF THE STADIUM. There's no comparison between a PRIVATE business and a PUBLIC Stadium.
  16. The Bears are who we thought they were!
  17. Whaley heard of the transaction and said "A young QB needs a top receiver to grow. This will only benefit Jordan Love."
  18. The real reason is the NFL is afraid New England will hire someone who will figure out how to hack the chip.
  19. I expect Luis Perez to be their QB. Depending on when this was written, it may have been before Perez's late signing. Edit: Holmes isn't listed on their current roster. Perez is the starting QB. Saturday
  20. If I could bet I'd bet Tampa Bay to cover. Their QB is a proven minor league QB, leading St Louis in the XFL. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Ta'amu XFL statistics Year Team Games Passing Rushing GP GS Cmp Att Pct Yds Y/A TD Int Rtg Att Yds Avg TD 2020 STL 5 5 97 134 72.0 1,050 8.0 5 2 101.3 41 217 5.3 1
  21. Here's proof that Watson is not better than Josh. Watson won 4 games as an established franchise QB in his 4th season & hasn't taken a snap since. Can you imagine Josh playing a full season & the Bills winning 4 games? Even when Josh was a raw rookie, with no O-line or WRs, in 11 starts the Bills won 5 games. Josh is a winner & Watson is a loser.
  22. Where did you get that bet in? 😄
  23. I was hoping to get to knowthe USFL & bet on some games, but legal betting in NYS is not taking bets on the USFL. There are 15 states that will take it but I'm not going to NJ or southeast Connecticut to bet on these games. I guess I'll have to wait for the NFL season.
  24. Just to let people know, as of last season Ticketmaster was still issuing paper tickets. Last year I bought a ticket for opening day & I got a ticket called a "Smart Ticket" in the mail about a week or 2 later. The ticket is a printed ticket with a chip inside. Eventually, I got nervous that the people at the gate wouldn't know how to scan the ticket & switched to an electronic ticket on my phone, but at least for single game purchasers, as of the 2021 season you can still get a paper ticket.
  25. They've created another monster.
