  1. Even if he wins comeback player, he will either leave for big $ or become a salary cap nightmare. If he wasn't entering his final contract year as a huge? , he'd be a lot more appealing. There's no way the Bills can justify extending him before next season & no respectable agent would let him sign an extension at the lowest point of his market value. Not a good business decision to rent a ? at $7.2 million.
  2. Daboll has always been Josh's OC. They changed QB coaches after Josh was a rookie because Baltimore offered Culley a promotion and he left voluntarily with an assistant head title in Baltimore-a title that makes it very difficult for a team to keep a coach from moving on. Different Reply: The one part missing from Z's story is what effect did missing out on Cousins have on Elway's panic move to sign Keenum?
  3. I remember fans going crazy because the Bills had to start Josh after Peterman failed on opening day & until Anderson signed, they had no veteran backup. A lot of Bills fans were up in arms that the Bills didn't have a veteran mentor for Josh the 1st half of his rookie year.
  4. Shawne Merriman-one year at big bucks for a generational LB for a team that desperately needs one. You take the risk. Don't overthink this. Really? What makes you think an oft injured underachiever who has done virtually nothing the last 2 seasons is a generational RB? He had a great rookie year, declined in his sophomore season & has been invisible the last 2. You know what other RB had his best year as a rookie? Terry Miller.
  5. No need to wonder-Josh was #1 on their board per the leaked photo of their board that WGR showed. They had 3 QBs they were willing to trade up for, in order Josh, Darnold & Mayfield. Rosen was 4th, but they were only trading up to 5 (the original plan before Chubb was there for Denver) for the top three. Josh wasn't "unknown", everyone had him top 10 in mock drafts, even Mina Kimes who went nuts when the Bills took Allen over Rosen.
  6. OJ wasn't a walking injury, his problem was the Bills coaches. Barkley is in his 4th season & has steadily declined since his rookie year.
  7. He's played in less than 57% of his team's games the last 3 years, he's averaging 3.5 yards per carry & only has 2 TDs, he makes $7.2 million & he's going to be a free agent after 2022 unless you pay him enough to make him want to stay. The trade makes no sense salary cap-wise. He has to prove he's healthy 1st before any team should take a shot on him, and then you have to hope he suddenly regains his form from 2018. He's one of the main reasons the Giants will have a new GM next season.
  8. His contract status has already been stated in this thread. It's $7.2 guaranteed for 2022 since the Giants already picked up his 5th year option. So they are either renting him for 1 season at $7.2 million or have to extend him at big bucks not knowing if he'll ever regain his form or stay healthy. The only way you take him is if the Giants extend him with a big bonus that they take the cap hit on if they trade him & it has to be a contract the Bills can get out of in 2023 with a minimal cap hit if they cut him. Very tough to justify trading for him. Just draft a RB early & get him on a rookie contract rather than trading for Barkley.
  9. It was almost a bigger thank you than what has been said so far: If Bradley Chubb had been selected in the top 4, Elway would have traded the pick to the Bills for our 2 #1s & a #2. Then the Bills would have drafted Josh at #5. Not only was Elway not interested in drafting a QB, he was willing to trade the pick to a team that was trading up for a QB.
  10. On opening day 2019 I took a bus ride to NJ to see the Bills play the Jets. The Jets fans in the 2 seats in front of me started making jokes about Josh being so inaccurate. I leaned forward and told them that 1) Josh was better than Darnold & 2) Josh would end up in the Hall of Fame. I hope those 2 guys remember being told that in September 2019.
  11. How can anyone seriously say Josh was brought along too slowly when he finished opening day in 2018 & was starting by the 2nd game of the season? He was thrown to the wolves on a team with one of if not the worst WR & OL groups in the entire NFL as a rookie. The only games he didn't play in was due to an injury. He has played every game since. While I thought he should have started from day 1 as a rookie, starting by day 2 was good enough for me. The majority of fans wanted him to sit for at least half the season. Nobody except the OP thinks he was brought along too slowly. What were the coaches supposed to do, open the playbook when there were no complimentary pieces? COME ON MAN!
  12. Verizon's guides suck when it comes to NFL games on Sundays. Before Wednesday mine said Tampa at Jets in Albany. There was never a chance that was going to happen. Verizon is always late on switches. I guess the network suits figured that NE would rather watch their old friend Brady put up 40 points than see Josh Allen do it. For Pats fans it won't matter because they'll be watching the Patriots on CBS. They must be going for Brady fans who quit the Pats when Tommy Boy did.
  13. I looked up the game to see what you are talking about. What's your basis for saying he threw the game? They lost to the 10-6 Ravens in Baltimore by 3 points in overtime. The week before they won. Unless you can tell us how he tanked the game, I'm calling your premise BS.
  14. That's the November list. No Tasker. This is today's list: Jared Allen, Defensive End – 2004-07 Kansas City Chiefs, 2008-2013 Minnesota Vikings, 2014-15 Chicago Bears, 2015 Carolina Panthers Willie Anderson, Offensive Tackle – 1996-2007 Cincinnati Bengals, 2008 Baltimore Ravens Ronde Barber, Cornerback/Safety – 1997-2012 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tony Boselli, Offensive Tackle – 1995-2001 Jacksonville Jaguars, 2002 Houston Texans (injured reserve) LeRoy Butler, Safety – 1990-2001 Green Bay Packers Devin Hester, Punt Returner/Kick Returner/Wide Receiver – 2006-2013 Chicago Bears, 2014-15 Atlanta Falcons, 2016 Baltimore Ravens Torry Holt, Wide Receiver – 1999-2008 St. Louis Rams, 2009 Jacksonville Jaguars Andre Johnson, Wide Receiver – 2003-2014 Houston Texans, 2015 Indianapolis Colts, 2016 Tennessee Titans Sam Mills, Linebacker – 1986-1994 New Orleans Saints, 1995-97 Carolina Panthers Richard Seymour, Defensive End/Defensive Tackle – 2001-08 New England Patriots, 2009-2012 Oakland Raiders Zach Thomas, Linebacker – 1996-2007 Miami Dolphins, 2008 Dallas Cowboys DeMarcus Ware, Linebacker/Defensive End – 2005-2013 Dallas Cowboys, 2014-16 Denver Broncos Reggie Wayne, Wide Receiver – 2001-2014 Indianapolis Colts Patrick Willis, Linebacker – 2007-2014 San Francisco 49ers Bryant Young, Defensive Tackle/Defensive End – 1994-2007 San Francisco 49ers
  15. Don't worry. Even though Daryl is the only Williams currently on the team, once McDerrmott & Beane realize they're at the lowest total of Williams since they got here they'll be signing/drafting several & if you're luck one of them will get Antonio's number and you can wear it on opening day next season. I once had a Trent Edwards jersey, wore it to a game & he got cut a week or 2 later. I took scissors and cut his name out of the jersey.
  16. It depends on if we won any Super Bowls or not. If we had won at least 1 Super Bowl with Ben, I'd rather have won that Super Bowl (or multiple Super Bowls) instead of wondering if Josh can win one before I die. When you ask an old man like me, who probably won't make it to the end of Josh's career, I'd rather have had 18 years of Roethlisberger while I had plenty of time left. I guess a 20 year old, who is almost certain to see Josh's total career & would have missed a lot of Roethlisberger's would have the opposite answer.
  17. Ben was PO'd when Rudolph was drafted. Then he saw Rudolph play & had nothing to worry about. 😀
  18. Donahoe's fault for not offering enough for a top 10 team to trade down. If he had traded pick 13 & the picks he used to trade up for JP, someone would have traded a top 10 pick to the Bills. On the point table pick 13 is 1150, pick 43 is 470, pick 144 is 34. for the 2005 #1, pick 20 is worth 850 or using the philosophy that a pick a year away is worth a round less pick 52 is worth 380 points. So Donahoe could have offered at least 2034 points with 4 picks & had Roethlisberger (who he wanted) instead of Lee Evans & JP Losman. Those 2034 points are worth more than picks 4 through 10. Now let's compare what the Bills gave up to move from 12 to 7 for Josh which is a very similar move to what Donahoe couldn't do. The Bills traded picks 12 (1,200), 53 (370) and 56 (340) for a total of 1910 points to get picks 7 (1,500) and 255 (1). The Bills traded 1,910 points for 1,501 points, an overpayment of 409 points which is the equivalent of and early 2nd rounder, picks 49 or 50. If Donahoe had overpaid by 409 points he could have moved up to at most 7th, giving him 4 opportunities to make an offer that would be hard to refuse before Pittsburgh picked. Don't blame Cowher for tanking, blame Donahoe for not realizing you have to overpay for a franchise QB. Remember, Beane started out with the highest Bills pick at 21 (800 points) and managed to move it up to a 1500 point spot by overpaying to get Josh. Beane moved mountains to get his man, Donahoe sat on his hands and then made it worse with the panic move to get JP Losman after losing out on Roethlisberger by 2 spots in the draft.
  19. If true probably an engraved Rolex for each one. Cody Ford's should be engraved "Bartender 2022". 😀
  20. Will the other Josh make it to Buffalo or is he gone before Sunday? Edit: It looks like their 3rd stringer was put on the Covid list, so Josh Rosen will be doing his best JP Losman immitation, bearded & sulking on the sidelines
  21. Nobody would ever trade for Darnold with the $18.858 million guaranteed salary for 2022. Carolina has to decide whether it's worth that $ in dead cap space not to have him around or get some more lousy QB play for their $18+ million. They're dead set on finding out if he's salvagable enough to be an $18 million backup or just bite the bullet & cut him. If it's the latter, they don't care about his future, which might be a low paid backup or a real job.
  22. Once I found out the Giants were on CBS, I had little doubt that they would show the Bills game in Albany because the local Fox station shows all the Bills preseason games & their sister staton has the Bills pregame show at 11:30 AM on Sundays. My Verizon cable guide showed the Jets game & I thought NFW. We're going to end up getting 14 of the 17 games after getting all the preseason games in Albany.
  23. If you watched the game and came up with anything less than great you need to watch it again.
