More evidence QB rating is the most useless stat in all of sports. When you cite a stat that says Rob Johnson was a better Bills QB than Jim Kelly, you lose me.

Gregg wasn't anywhere near the worst coaching hires. Jim Ringo, Harvey Johnson & my all time favorite for worst coaching hire ever, Hank Bullough, make Gregg look competent. Honorable mention to John Rauch as another worse than Gregg.

538 analysis: Bills underperformed with schedule set up to dominate
Albany,n.y. replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
I bet the Chargers over/unders. I bet over 9 & have a push on that one & can win it if they win on Sunday so I'll be rooting big time for the Chargers vs the Raiders. Then I got greedy because the odds were +190 and bet over 10.5 wins on LAC. I lost that when they couldn't beat Houston. The best I can do is limit my loses to 25% of the total I bet on the LAC since I bet more on over 10.5. I can still make money on my futures if the Bills win the AFC. I bet them at +550. If they win the AFC I will more than double my original future bet wagers. -
If Philly can get a conditional 1st (now definitely a 1st) and a 3rd round pick for Carson Wentz who was signed for 4 more years at over $80 million, the Browns can get more than peanuts & popcorn for Mayfield. They also won't be returning Alice Cooper's boots if they get delivered to FirstEnergy Stadium by mistake.

NFL looking at AT&T Stadium as a backup plan for the Super Bowl
Albany,n.y. replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Flights & motels are cheaper in Dallas. I'm already looking at alternative plans if they move the game. The Bills WILL be there. -
I want to be alive & physically able to attend a game there, the other stuff doesn't matter too much.

Crazy fan sues Giants & Jets for calling themselves NY teams
Albany,n.y. replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in The Stadium Wall
When I lived in Long Island in the 1980s I drove to a few games at the old Giants Stadium. Sometimes I drove through Manhattan to get there. Manhattan is very close to East Rutherford via the Lincoln Tunnel. If the clown owned a car it wouldn't take him very long to get to Met-Life. They're probably going to counter sue him for their legal fees. The guy will owe the Giants & Jets thousands when he's done, -

Los Angeles Lakers. The lakes are in Minnesota, land of 10,000 lakes. Where are all the lakes in LA? -
They just talked about it on WGR, so I looked it up and found this story: https://www.nydailynews.com/new-york/ny-giants-jets-new-jersey-fan-lawsuit-20220105-md7uxrsvmzb5djnlwexshvyzb4-story.html This could lead to a Buffalonian suing the Bills for playing in Orchard Park. the WFT for playing in Maryland & the SF 49ers for playing in Santa Clara.

Wonderlic Test Eliminated from Pre-Draft Process
Albany,n.y. replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall
As I stated above, in this era the agents prepare their clients for the Wonderlic before they take the test. In the early 1980s the agents weren't doing that. -
Wonderlic Test Eliminated from Pre-Draft Process
Albany,n.y. replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read this speculation on why Lamar Jackson scored so much lower than the other QBs of his class: No agent. It seems the agents coach the players up to the Wonderlic to the point that it no longer means anything. A prime example is when JP Losman took it the 1st time he got a 14 and then after being coached up by his agent &/or others he got a 31. They've also limited offensive questions, so you can no longer ask a potential draftee "Have you ever sucked a ####? " -
This is the best year ever for Bills games on home TV in Albany. We ended up with 14 games on home TV. Now we just need to get a radio station to broadcast the Bills games. Years ago we were on the radio in Albany & then we lost them during the drought years. Back then I'd go to a sports bar with a radio and the broadcast would be ahead of the TV in the bar and I'd know the plays before they were on TV. The same thing happens this time in reverse for me when the game is on in Albany & NYC. Petrino calls me from Beacon during games when the game is on on NYC and the NY broadcast is always a little bit ahead of the Albany broadcast, so he'll say TD before I see it. Good thing I'm not someone who hates knowing the ending of things they're watching before the end.

Bills vs. Jets Tickets Selling as low as $8
Albany,n.y. replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
You are not making money on something you don't plan on selling when it is appreciating. I can sell my house for more than I paid for it, but I'm not making any money on it because I'm not selling it. -
Bills vs. Jets Tickets Selling as low as $8
Albany,n.y. replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Here's a novel idea: Go to the games you bought tickets to. When I had season tickets I only sold 1 or 2 games ever in 20 years & I ended up going to the games in another seat. -
Red Hogs is literally putting lipstick on a pig.

I want them to be the Washington Hogs. I still get a laugh thinking of Chuck Dickerson mocking them out & snorting like a pig.

At the time he was released on October 18th, he wasn't on waivers. There were no waivers for vets until 11/2/21. https://dknation.draftkings.com/nfl/2021/8/30/22648201/nfl-waiver-wire-rules-2021-which-team-has-top-priority-claims-order Who goes through waivers? Players with less than four years of accrued service time are subject to waivers. A player with at least four years of accrued service time, referred to as a “vested veteran” immediately becomes a free agent and is eligible to sign with any other team. Is this the same all season? No. After the trade deadline passes on November 2, vested veterans will have to go through waivers if released.

Mainly because the team doesn't own the facility, Erie County owns Highmark & they own the land for the new stadium. Very few teams own the facility they play in. If one municipality won't build one (example Oakland Raiders who are now the Las Vegas Raiders) another municipality will. If you seriously believe a team that is forced to build their own facility, outside of a huge city, not a smaller one like Buffalo, would agree to build a stadium they don't own, you're living in a fantasy world. Let me put in another way: I've already stated the land & building is owned by Erie County. If you were renting a house from someone and the house was deteriorating to the point that it was no longer viable for much longer & your landlord told you they're building a brand new house for you, but they expect you to pay 100% to build it I'd bet you would be looking for a new landlord & location.

Trubisky appears to be pretty tight with Josh too. Mitch & his wife were among the few guests at Josh Allen's New Year's Eve party.https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/josh-allen-nye-party-instagram/ -
QB 2022-23 Extensions.. Trades... Rookie Class

Jones will be a Giant next year because even if he loses his starting job the Giants other backups have been ridiculously bad. I expect the Giants to bring in a QB who will compete with Jones for the starting job & the loser will be the backup. Glennon & Fromm don't belong in the NFL. To see how bad Fromm is, Glennon was unbelievably bad yesterday, but after seeing Fromm the week before, the Giants never replaced Glennon with Fromm. -
