The Best “One Year Wonders” in Bills History
Albany,n.y. replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've only bought 1 jersey-Josh Allen after the Vikings game his rookie year. I think I did OK with that one. PS: I have no idea why a photo someone put in further down in the thread appears here. -
He wasn't sure what to do in camp and called Vontae Davis for advice.

Best value picks in Bills history?
Albany,n.y. replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Burroughs was a starter at CB before his injury. The Bills originally had pick 7 but traded down with GB to 14. They used the extra 2nd round pick from GB to draft WR Chris Burkett ( pick 42) after taking bust OL Mark Traynowicz at 29, with the 1st pick in the 2nd round. -
Speaking of Bob McAdoo, before the NBA draft McAdoo had signed with the ABA's Virginia Squires. Here's a story that I wrote years ago that is published on the Remember The ABA website. "The only ABA vs. NBA exhibition game I ever saw was the Virginia Squires vs. Buffalo Braves game played in Buffalo on September 22, 1972. The game itself really isn't the story so much as the reason why the game was played. The story began the day of the 1972 NBA draft. On that day I opened the Buffalo News, and the sports page headline read "Braves' Dilemma - McAdoo or McAdon't." The story mentioned that even though the Braves knew that Bob McAdoo had already signed a contract with the ABA Virginia Squires, the Braves believed that they could draft McAdoo, find a loophole in his Squires contract, and sign him. Obviously, that's exactly what happened. This story is similar to the events that happened a year earlier when Howard Porter signed with the Pittsburgh Condors, yet never played for the Condors. Instead, Porter was "traded" to the Chicago Bulls after he had signed contracts with both teams. As far as I know, Paul Ruffner (the player sent by the Bulls to the Condors) was the only player ever to be willingly sent to a team in the rival league -- as compensation for the right to keep another player. That made Ruffner the only player to be "traded" from the NBA to the ABA. The McAdoo case was different in that no player was sent by the Braves to the Squires. However, there was a settlement between the two teams that permitted McAdoo to join the Braves. As part of that settlement, the Braves and Squires agreed to play home-and-home exhibition games against each other before the 1972-73 regular season began. The final twist in this story occurred one year later. More than a year after the demise of the Pittsburgh Condors an ex-Condor player signed with the Braves, and made the team -- his name was Paul Ruffner."

How about reading the whole article instead of the snippets the OP took to make Sully look bad. Notice the OP didn't include a link because he would have been exposed. Here's the whole thing, reading it might change your mind, since the best parts are nowhere in this thread: https://www.niagara-gazette.com/sports/sullivan-josh-allen-offers-hope-that-makes-bills-fans-unburdened-by-past-scars/article_9f49477a-1510-11ed-a353-8fd8e72d75d8.html

Why would a fan of any age be envious of the younger people in Alen jerseys? I've been a fan for over 50 years & I wear an Allen jersey too. I wasn't envious of younger people wearing Kelly jerseys after enduring some of the worst football teams of all time. If anything when the Bills are good it makes me think how far they've come from the many seasons of frustration. Back in the 1990s when the Bills were a dynasty, as a fan who put up with a lot of lousy football my feelings were "I deserve this" when I was able to go to Super Bowls . I never once thought about the fans who only knew good football, I was too busy enjoying watching a good team. As it turned out we all had to put up with bad & mediocre Bills teams after our glory years of the 1990s. We're in a good cycle now, let's enjoy it as long as we can because no team remains good or bad forever.

Just like in college, he had someone else take the test for him.

I expect to see USFL QB Kyle Sloter in for Jacksonville at some point, unless the weather delay lasts forever.

If they're close you go with the one on a multi-year rookie contract over the one who will be a free agent at the end of the season. It's going to be tough for Haack to make the team. https://overthecap.com/player/matt-araiza/10225 https://overthecap.com/player/matt-haack/6094

If it was real, Alice Kramden would have been there. -
Before 2018 the only jersey I had was a bootleg Trent Edwards jersey that a friend gave me. I wore it one game & he got cut, so I cut his name off the back since his name was sewed in on top of the rest of the jersey. Then came 2018 & I watched the Vikings game & I got so excited that we finally had a QB (because I'm a visual fan I was sold on Josh long before the stat boys) that I went out & bought a Josh Allen jersey that week.

In the late 1980s Jim Kelly was appearing at a toy store around Albany. He was at a table signing autographs. I stood on line but I realized I was too old for an autograph & instead got a photo of him shaking my hand. I still have the photo. PS: I think most pro athletes realize that there's a decent chance the adult will try to sell the autograph.

Saleh's head coaching job is in the the hands of one player: Zach Wilson. If Wilson continues to play like he did as a rookie, Saleh is toast either this season or next. If Wilson plays like the #2 overall pick should, the Jets will win games & Saleh will remain as HC of NYJ. That's how it usually is in the NFL, the longest tenured coaches usually have a franchise QB.

The longer this decision on the suspension goes, the more likely Watson plays this year. I'd put the over/under at 8.5 games. Either 1 game under half the season or 1 game over. There are plenty of us fans who have been able to watch bad football sober.

This sounds similar to the time the Oakland Raiders gave Jamarcus Russell a tape and told him to study it. They then asked him if he had watched the tape & he told them he did. They knew he was lying because they had given him a blank tape as a test-he failed.

From today's BN on yesterday's practice: 5. Round 1: Haack The battle at punter is the most intense “starting” competition on the roster. Give round one of many to veteran Matt Haack. The Bills’ incumbent punter had a very good day with a string of punts that had outstanding hang times. (Anything better than 4.5 is excellent). Haack’s best punts went, unofficially, for 4.97, 4.92, 4.87, 4.85 and 4.64 seconds. Rookie Matt Araiza, the sixthround draft pick from San Diego State, got off to a slow start, with a string of four consecutive early punts that were less than 4.0 hang time. Then Araiza got it going. He hit four straight puts that went 65 yards, although none with as big a hang time. One appeared to go 70 yards with a 4.44 hang time. Haack was the holder for Tyler Bass on day one.

If you're right I'm betting heavily on Carolina.

He's busy writing training camp previews for The Athletic. If you want to see him, you've got to pay to play.

...and so, another right Josh wrong Josh debate appears again. This time in Cleveland Browns camp where the right Josh will make the yeam & the wrong Josh will likely be cut. It's now Josh Dobbs vs Josh Rosen, mano a mano.

Obviously Cleveland knows the error of their ways and have now rectified that mistake.
