Josh Allen gets his perfect Christmas gift: Elvis Presley
Albany,n.y. replied to RobbRiddick's topic in The Stadium Wall
Why didn't they give him the Elvis from the stadium? -
2004: I blame Donahoe for not having the guts to offer enough to get into the top 10 & draft Roethlisberger. Remember, we started at 21 & went all the way up to 7 to draft Josh because Beane was willing to toss the draft value charts aside & do whatever it took to get his QB. There's no way that JP Losman would have ever been a decent starter in the NFL. He just didn't have it-he had one of the most respected offensive minds in the NFL coaching him, Sam Wyche, and couldn't be developed. Jauron hired the right guy to develop Losman & JP didn't have the goods. The Losman trade cost the Bills the chance to draft Aaron Rodgers with the pick that they traded to Dallas. So they did F up picking a great QB when they had a real opportunity to grab one. None of the draft capital from the Mahomes trade was used to draft Allen. Allen's trade involved 1st trading our own pick 21 to Cincinnati with Glenn to move up to 12 & then dealing our own 2nd rounder & the 2nd rounder acquired from the Rams in the Watkins trade plus pick 12 to move up to 7.

The whole article was very reminiscent of Ralph's years. He allegedly fired Polian because Polian disrespected Ralph's daughter's scouting opinions & called her the C word.

Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL
Albany,n.y. replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
I believe the hit rates & failure rates are based on talent & it works for sitting or playing BUT I don't believe talented QBs are ruined. A bad organization can stymie a young QB, but if he has the talent, he'll eventually show it. A bad QB will never show it & all he will do is get his coach fired. Best examples of guys who played as rookies & learned more from their mistakes than by sitting & watching are Josh Allen, Peyton Manning, John Elway, Ben Roethlisberger, Matt Ryan, & Russell Wilson. I believe Josh learned a lot more by playing than watching. A MESSAGE BOARD is for OPINIONS. You're saying your opinions, I'm saying mine. That's why we are here. -
Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL
Albany,n.y. replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Name the great QB talents that are being wasted. I vote nobody. Fans use the ruined excuse when their team's scouts, GMs & coaches pick QB unsuited to play in the NFL with high draft picks. More like good coaches' talents are being wasted by bad QBs. Guys like Rosen, Z. Wilson, D. Jones, etc are coach killers, not the other way around. -
Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL
Albany,n.y. replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cousins has always looked better on paper than on the field. He parlayed a mediocre career into a stat boy's dream & enough GMs bought it to make him a very rich man. I remember in 2018 there were plenty of posters on Bills message boards advocating for the Bills to sign Cousins & save all their draft picks. I was rooting for the Jets to sign him since I'd seen enough of his pumped up on paper career to not want him anywhere near the Bills. Cousins is a classic example why I've always dismissed QB stats in favor of visually evaluating a QB. -
Why hasn't the Samuel signing worked?

Was productive in Car & Wash. Maybe he can get a job at Delta Sonic. -
Bad survey! The biggest problem is outside of Benford & Johnson, nobody in our defensive backfield should be starting in the NFL. Douglas has played away any contract extension. Stop blaming the D line & coach for the lack of talent at CB & S. The D line weren't the ones letting Nacua & Cupp become spokesmen for 7-11.

Photo from his Facebook page. I'm amazed that CNN keeps posting the photos that don't show his entire face when a Google search gets his Facebook photo. They'll probably be shutting down his Facebook & other social media places pretty soon. -
Josh put his Superman cape on today
Albany,n.y. replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh plays like Superman, Defense plays like Lois Lane. This game shows that the defensive backfield needs a total overhaul. The only good to great DB is Benford. We could get rid of just about everyone else & they wouldn't be missed. Douglas has played his way off any new contract, Elam has inactived his way off the team. Elam is not on the team next year. The rest of the corners are backups at best. Cole Bishop better be improved next year. Pro Bowler 😆 Hamlin should go home to Pittsburgh or join his buddy Dane Jackson in Carolina. -
There's obviously no D in J-E-T-S.

I'm rooting for the Jets to kill off the Dolphins & ruin their draft choice, but the Jets are being the Jets, so it's futile.

I've always believed the only reason the NFL was ever concerned about recreational drug use was because they had to be obtained illegally and could lead to drug dealers blackmailing players to fix games. With marijuana legal in many places, there's no need for a ban. However, they still don't want players coming to games high as a kite.

To quote "When will Jauron Get Fired?": There's no comprehending why he was extended.

I can't tell if you are Elam's agent, Benford's agent, or you represent both of them. -
Woody Johnson suggested benching Rodgers in September
Albany,n.y. replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Darnold is a free agent, so there may be an opening in Minnesota, but they most likely will go with McCarthy. I just don't understand why Rodgers would want to leave the Jets. He loves darkness & the Jets are about the darkest situation in the NFL. -
$49 million cap hit next year if they cut him, less if post 6/1. Most likely post 6/1 for any cut unless he retires & returns some of his original signing bonus

There's a puncher's chance that IK Enemkpali will also be coming out of mothballs.

I've been listening to WFAN the past hour & the host, Joe Benigno, has spent the entire 10-11 AM hour begging Woody Johnson to rehire Rex Ryan. He's saying Rex is the 2nd best coach in Jets history and how great a defense he had. When someone brought up his time with the Bills, Joe's answer was "he didn't have Josh Allen". Well, the Jets don't have Josh either & they either have to wheel out Rodgers next year or start some backup or a rookie. The worse the Jets get the more entertaining it is listening to WFAN. It was too bad this week the Giants stole most of the Jets time on WFAN with their QB moves.

Reminds me of the Shawne Merriman days in Buffalo.

Giants are releasing QB Daniel Jones (future backup to Josh Allen)
Albany,n.y. replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's not $70 million dead cap. The dead cap is a lot lower. The cap # this season is $47,855,000 but all but the salary of $35,500,000 has already been accounted for. So his dead cap is actually 7/17ths of $35,500,000 or $14,617,647 the remainder of this year & the remaining pro rated signing bonus of $22,200,000 next year (total $36,817,647 spread out over 2024 & 2025). -

Albany,n.y. replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
There were plenty of these types of videos the year before when we chose Josh Allen over Josh Rosen. It's kind of ironic that when Jones was drafted the Giants fans wanted the other Josh Allen who is now known as Josh Hines-Allen. It's too bad there are no videos (that I'm aware of) showing Giants fans calling for Josh in 2018 & going nuts when they picked Barkley.
