  1. At least he wasn't replaced by Josh Allen hater Bomani Jones. I'm surprised his replacement isn't Judy Battista, who is already the insider on CBS owned Paramount +'s Inside the NFL.
  2. Here's a better link that actually talks about his retirement: https://heavy.com/sports/buffalo-bills/will-ulmer-contract-retired/ The kid is living the dream. When I was 24 I wanted to retire. How many 24 year olds get to retire? Now he can sit back without having to get up early. I'm retired and I didn't get out of bed until 11 today. I guess he did the same.
  3. Fortunately, since we drafted Josh in 2018, the hypothetical was never possible. If we had drafted Rosen, by now I'd probably be willing to take on Watson, although I wouldn't have agreed with giving that many top draft choices away. I never care about players salaries (they're doing something I can't do & I'm willing to pay to see them perform), so the contract wouldn't have been a factor. For the record I was all for signing Vick when the Bills were contemplating it. Players come & go, the team is forever. 1st off, I don't believe in boycotts, so I definitely wouldn't start now. I root for the team, not many individuals on their own. I've been to 262 Bills games over the last 49 years, so I wouldn't drop the team now. There have been a few players that I have rooted for the team while they played on it who have been pretty bad actors off the field. Obviously OJ turned out to be the worst post Bills career. I didn't go & burn any programs that OJ was in. While he was on the Bills, I thought Richie Incognito was the biggest dirtbag I can remember as an active player-and we acquired the bum TWICE! I didn't see many fans jump ship when we signed Richie. We once signed an addict when he came out of prison (Reggie Rogers for vehicular homicide.) He eventually died because of his addictions. Moulds had a domestic violence incident when he was a Bill. Bennett went to jail for a sexual assault in Buffalo after his playing days. The list is too long to continue, you get the point. So, in all honesty, I'd continue to root for the Bills & hope for a Super Bowl win no matter how low an opinion I had about any player off the field.
  4. I can't believe how many people in this thread don't understand the definition of a playoff drought. It means no playoffs. Kyle Williams was on the 2017 Bills team that made the playoffs. The drought era ended at the 2016 season.
  5. These are the current odds at Caesars. Just to give a reference point, the odds have gone down since the season ended. On February 17th, I got +425 at Caesars on the Bills winning the AFC. Buffalo Bills SUPER BOWL WINNER +650 CONFERENCE WINNER +350 DIVISION WINNER -200

  7. Kelly was 37 when he retired. No way he'd be playing at 43 or 44.
  8. Phil Hansen is on the Wall & even though he didn't play on teams as good as some of the ones Hansen played on, Williams played longer than Hansen & IMO had a better career.
  9. For those of you too young to remember, Kemp & Ferguson (both WOFers) are the 3rd & 4th best QBs we've seen. Fitz doesn't come close to either of those 2 and if he hadn't been traded, Lamonica would be on the best Bills QB list too ahead of Fitzpatrick.
  10. I guarantee that Kyle Williams (13 years with the Bills) will be on the WOF at the new stadium.
  11. Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Fred Jackson, etc and current favorite Josh Allen who has already played as many seasons with the Bills as Fitz.
  12. I just looked at the QB depth charts: https://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchartpos/QB There's not a lot of room for any QB to just come in now & make a team. Seattle has the weakest QB group in the league as far as roster spots & no high to mid 2022 draft choices. Meanwhile Mayfield & Garoppolo are still looking to be traded with it looking more like Garoppolo will stay in SF unless Lance shows massive improvement early in year 2. That means that for all intents & purposes guys like Kaepernick & 2018 QB draft bust Josh Rosen are not going to be on NFL rosters this season. Their best shots are to join a practice squad after injuries. I think it's time for Rosen to get a real job and admit to himself he was the biggest mistake of the 2018 draft. It's also time for Kaepernick to look at playing in a spring league next year & either light it up & hope to sign a 2023 NFL contract or go out and get a real job too.
  13. After seeing some of Wilson's INTs last season, I already knew Zach was thick.
  14. Who knew the key to a long life is to lose 4 Super Bowls coaching the same team? Marv 96, Bud 95.
  15. I could eat a 50 wing bucket when I lived in Buffalo in the early 1980s. If I tried that today I'd end up in the morgue.
  16. I don't know if Baker is smart enough to realize the opportunity in front of him. Instead of collecting $18 million & getting a chance to get a big next contract with another team if he lights it up while Watson is suspended, he's whining and asking for a trade to a team where he has to learn a whole new offense.
  17. I was living downstate at the time & videotaped the game on my VCR. It went so long I had to take the tape out & put the end at the beginning of the tape, taping over the pregame show. I don't have any VCRs hooked up to any TV in my house & I haven't watched it in years.
  18. I think Josh got a lot more out of playing in 12 games his rookie year than sitting on the bench. Because of his drive, keeping a healthy Josh on the bench would not have helped him. He had to make his rookie mistakes & learn what not to do. You don't get game experience on the bench.
  19. The best reaction I saw was a letter in the BN sports section the following Sunday that said: Marv to Bills "Win or I'll sing again"
  20. One of the best trades in Bills history. Topped only by the draft day trade up for Josh Allen in 2018 and possibly the Bennett trade in 1987.
  21. The 1st round pick that the Bills got from KC had nothing to do with drafting Josh Allen-It was used to trade up for Edmunds. The picks used in the Allen trade were pick 21 & Glenn to move up to 12, the Bills 2nd round pick and the 2nd round pick from the Rams in the Watkins trade to move up to 7. All that was Beane. As has been stated, rumors are the 2017 draft was McDermott's, not Whaley's. If McDermott had drafted Lattimore instead of White, then the Bills wouldn't have Edmunds, that's it. Remember, the 3rd that they got from KC was wasted on the Zay Jones pick. If they didn't draft Edmunds, then maybe they would have used the 3rd rounder from Cleveland in the 2018 draft to take Fred Warner. No matter what they did or didn't do in April of 2017, it played no factor in the Allen trade, the real biggest win-win trade, a trade that helped Tampa win a Super Bowl & the Bills getting the best player in the 2018 draft. The Mahomes trade turned out to be a big win for KC, since the Bills could have had either Lattimore or White at 10, and the extra picks were used on Edmunds & Z. Jones with the Tyrod pick thrown in to get Edmunds.
  22. Years ago they used to sell out, but now you can get tickets through the week of the game & last season the prices went down closer to the game. I think they're the best place, but I wouldn't put down a deposit since it doesn't appear that the total opening price is even up there yet. Last year they were cheaper than StubHub! . The main problem with buying early is the original asking price is usually higher than the price near the game. The exception was in Arizona for the NE/SEA Super Bowl XLIX where tickets just kept going up & hit over 10 grand and a lot of people got stiffed by smaller brokers. After that I decided it was either NFL On Location or StubHub! only. Fearing that scenario the next year for Super Bowl 50 I bought early (I was committed to going to SB50 since I have family in the Bay area) and paid $4,726 per seat in October from StubHub! and they were around $3,500 by the week of the game.
  23. Some of the Sportsbooks offer signing bonuses for new members. If you shop around you may be able to do a bet at a reduced or minimal risk. Back in January when Caesar's started in NY they were offering a $300 signing bonus & a match of funds up to $3,000. I don't know what they're offering now, but check into all current sportsbooks.
  24. That's exactly what I did online. I put $950 on the Bills to win the AFC at +425 which means I get back $4,987.50. Last year tickets started out over 6 grand but the cheaper seats ended up in the low $4,000s the week of the game. I figured close to $5,000 was what I call "Super Bowl insurance" for $950. The reason I kept the payoff under 5 grand is because Caesar's makes you jump through more hoops if you want to withdraw more than $5,000. Currently the Bills are +360 so "insurance" will cost a little more than what I paid back in February. The odds got lower after KC traded Hill. Buffalo Bills+425 NFL Pro Football Conference Winner Thu 23:38 | 2023 AFC Conference Winner Wager: $950.00 Odds: +425 Return: $4,987.50 Feb 17, 2022 @ 23:38pm
