  1. Wrong Josh. Tennessee is signing Josh Gordon, not Rosen. They already have a practice squad QB in Logan Woodside. Rosen signed with Cleveland's practice squad: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/09/01/browns-sign-josh-rosen-to-practice-squad/
  2. I don't know enough to bet college, just too many teams. But since it's titled degenerate gambler thread I couldn't just leave it alone. Tennessee -5.5 at home over the NY Giants, looks like a pretty good bet to give the points.
  3. Unless Jackson has a bad 2022, Baltimore has no choice but to pay him. He's too young to get traded like Wilson was. Baltimore will either sign him to a big long term deal or franchise him next season. Now if he has a bad 2022 or gets injured again & misses significant time, they may let him go, but a well run organization doesn't get rid of a star QB approaching his prime years unless they have a plan in place. Considering that even top 10 QB draft choices have only a slightly better than 50% hit rate, I can't see Baltimore going in a different direction as long as Jackson's 2022 isn't a disaster.
  4. It was a done deal when you questioned my statement of the obvious, yet you did it anyway. Just about everyone else except you knew enough about roster manipulations to understand what was going on, but you were oblivious to the obvious, and then doubled down with clown questions & statements.
  5. I'm sure now. It's always dangerous to doubt the obvious.
  6. If the Bills don't sign Martin there's still 3 spots open on the practice squad & for 3 weeks they can have a practice squad punter before they have to sign him to the 53 man roster. It's an option if they really don't like anyone. They could also keep switching out the practice squad punter every 3 weeks until they like someone. 😄
  7. The most amazing thing: 7 players were claimed from the Jets, including ex-Bill Wildgoose by Washington.
  8. In the winter of 2018 I was too sick to really study things & have a decent opinion. I was neutral on Josh Allen before the draft & then went into trust but verify mode when we drafted him. The guy I was most against was Rosen because the concussions reminded me too much of Rob Johnson. I thought he was a medical risk, not that he'd be horrible in the NFL. I have to admit with my limited knowledge at the time I wanted Darnold, which is almost as bad as wanting Rosen, but the Jets took him at 3 & made things easier to accept.
  9. I remember watching him in the 1st preseason game last year & he was totally lost out there. He did get a little better as the preseason progressed, but I doubt the Bills would be interested. I had high hopes for him because when he was drafted he said his goal was the Hall of Fame. The only way he ends up in Canton is if he buys a house there.
  10. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30920143/mel-kiper-highest-graded-quarterbacks-ever-nfl-draft-john-elway-ranks-first-1979-trevor-lawrence-makes-top-10 He was #9 all time at the time of the 2018 draft. 10. Josh Allen, Wyoming Draft class: 2018 Pick: No. 7 overall, Buffalo Bills What I wrote at the time: "Allen has crushed the pre-draft process and is in the mix to be the No. 1 overall pick. He has shown improvement at the Senior Bowl and at the combine, and he has a high ceiling. Allen is super raw but can really sling it. His numbers weren't great in 2016 (28 touchdown passes, 15 interceptions while completing 56 percent of his passes), and his numbers weren't great in 2017 (16 touchdown passes, six interceptions while completing 56.3 percent of his passes), but NFL teams will take into account the talent around him. The Wyoming offense lost 47 touchdowns from the 2016 team, along with its center. I think Allen's numbers will be much better in an NFL offense with NFL players. He put some strong film together in the Cowboys' bowl win, throwing three touchdown passes in the first half, even while recovering from a shoulder injury." Career notes: Allen broke out in Year 3 in Buffalo, completing 69.2% of his passes and throwing 37 touchdown passes with only 10 picks. He finished second in the MVP voting while leading the Bills to the AFC title game. Allen, who turns 25 this summer, has inserted himself into the top tier of NFL signal-callers. Here's what he said when Allen was drafted:
  11. Mel Kiper had Josh Allen rated the top QB of the 2018 draft & had him rated among the top 10 QB's he's rated of all time. So no, I don't remember him saying that when the Bills drafted Josh Allen they drafted the wrong Josh.
  12. It's more dangerous to ignore the obvious and ask for links that you know don't exist. Saying Stevenson is going to IR is as safe as saying there will be daylight tomorrow morning. I can't link a photo of tomorrow's daylight either.
  13. You'll have to wait until tomorrow's transactions. Not everything has a link before it's official.
  14. Don't kill Paul Maguire before his time. He is still alive.
  15. If Morse goes down Bates will move to C, Quessenberry to RG & Brown back to RT. He's going on IR & he won't be back unless someone gets injured.
  16. Teams don't get rid of 1st or 2nd round QBs unless they've seen enough to know the guy doesn't have it. Either that or he's got a substance abuse problem like the time Carolina cut Kerry Collins for drinking too much and he was able to resurrect his career. Outside of Collins I can't think of any QB who got released or not offered a 2nd contract who ever made it. All these attempts at rehabbing the careers of highly drafted QBs have failed. Now guys have been traded early in their careers like Steve Young & Brett Favre but they had enough value to get a 1st or 2nd rounder in return. It will be interesting to see what happens with Baker Mayfield, since he really hasn't been a total bust up to now & was traded for virtually nothing in return. He could prove the exception, but the odds are against him. Arizona recognized Rosen didn't have it & robbed Miami. Even though Miami hedged their bet by trading down in the 2nd round, getting an extra 2020 2nd rounder and traded the lower 2019 2nd rounder they obtained, mitigating their risk. Trading Rosen that early probably saved Steve Keim's career as a GM. I remember in past years bringing up the fact that a team can't polish a 1st or 2nd round QB and turn around his career. I told people that JP would never come back to haunt us like some were posting & when we plucked Brian Brohm off GB's practice squad and his fanboys were bashing me for saying that there was no way Russ Brandon outsmarted 30 other GMs who let him sail through waivers before his sophomore season. Some gave the credit to Buddy Nix-think how ludicrous that sounds today-Buddy outsmarting 30 other GMs. I saw replies that I hated Brian Brohm & they "saw him play in college and he was a potential #1 overall pick." Logically, Russ Brandon, or Buddy Nix, was not capable of outsmarting guys like Ozzie Newsome & Bill Polian, among others. I've always believed that it's tough to ruin a talented QB short of getting him injured, and that almost all QB busts are the result of bad scouting & not bad coaches. My theory is bad QBs ruin coaches, not the other way around.
  17. Only players who haven't been able to practice since the start of camp are eligible for PUP.
  18. Rams to NFL: This is why we haven't had a 1st round pick since 2015. All they do is make you look silly.
  19. Years ago one of the best punters in the league was Randall Cunningham, but they wouldn't let him punt except once in a while. He had 20 punts for a 44.7 average but while with the Eagles he punted 12 times averaging 51.7 yards per punt. He never had a punt blocked and has the 3rd longest punt in NFL history at 91 yards:
  20. Every time the choice is between 2 Joshs, Rosen always loses.
  21. There's a Tweet posted with 55 guys who were at practice. You can find it & do the math.
  22. Marshawn asked to be traded because the Bills drafted Spiller in the 1st round and cut his playing time.
  23. The big problem I see is that SF went to the NFC championship game last year and is viewed as ready to win now. If Lance struggles, do they act like a team with championship aspirations, or do they accept that they're in a QB rebuild and take the growing pains which might cause them to go from the NFC championship game to out of the playoffs. We've seen coaches bail on young QBs during the drought. In 2005 JP got yanked for Kelly Holcomb & more recently EJ got yanked for Kyle Orton. In each case there was talk of the coach having to make the switch in order not to lose the locker room. So, does SF have the intestinal fortitude to keep sending out a struggling Lance, or do they go for more instant gratification with Garoppolo? Interesting that both Mularkey & Marrone quit after the season that they pulled the young QB.
