I hope the fact that Tillman was an atheist does not diminish anyone's opinion of him. Here's something I cut & pasted from another message board since the press has mostly stayed away from that part of the story, anyone interested in doing a search can find a lot more: PAT TILLMAN WAS AN ATHEIST, so attested by his brother Rich Tillman. The younger Tillman, according to the San Francisco Chronicle 4 May 2004, asked mourners to "hold their spiritual bromides... Pat isn't with God. He's f***ing dead. He wasn't religious. But thank you for your thoughts." I might criticise Rich’s expletives but the point was made and he was angry at the loss of his brother in a war against terror and religious extremists. He and Pat Tillman show that there are Atheists in Fox Holes even in hyper religious America.

Earth To Swede: The 2004 presidential election is Bush vs Kerry.

I haven't found it in writing anywhere, I wouldn't be surprised if Fox sports radio got it wrong. If he's ok it's just another reason to never trust anything you hear that Fox says.

It's real I heard it on Fox Sports radio on the way home. He's out at least 8 weeks.

Jason Peters - Bet He's A Tackle Soon

If Jennings is gone you can expect to see Teague or Price playing tackle next year. Remember Teague signed here thinking he was going to play LT. -
Anyone else getting tired of Kerry's rant
Albany,n.y. replied to OnTheRocks's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
No it's not conjecture. Bush/Cheney plan to have the White House rigged to blow up on January 21st if Kerry is elected. -
How do i get from St. John Fisher to Sunday's game
Albany,n.y. replied to SACKMARINO's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There's a bus company that goes from Rochester to Bills games. I'm sure someone from the area knows which company it is. I type so slowly that the answer is on the board before I got finished with the message. -
Why was there never an AFL-CIO boycott

I'll stop shopping at Walmart as soon as the drug stores lower their prices to be competitive with them. Why should I pay $2 more every time I want to buy dental or contact lense products. When the drug stores like CVS, Eckerd & Rite Aid start pricing their items fairly I'll be glad to shop there. If you want to pay more for everything and feel good, good for you-I can't afford to throw money out the window because drug stores like to gauge me. -

At most it's 9 of 10 because Osama Bin Laden was watching the Republican convention when Guiliani was saying he turned to the NYC police head & said "Thank God George Bush is President" Osama then turned to the person on his right and said "I've been saying the same thing for almost 4 years now" Osama then joined in with the crowd on tv & shouted "4 more years. 4 more years" At the end of the convention Osama felt snubbed. He was amazed that he was only mentioned once or twice. He turned off the sattelite & said "Remember when Bush was saying he was going to smoke me out, bla bla bla dead or alive. Well I guess the or was for alive. 4 more years, 4 more years!"

Maybe Jason Peters gobbled up Lawton & that's why nobody has signed him. -

Gilbride must have ran into Coughlin's office with the waiver sheet in his hand yelling Marques Sullivan is available! He also did the same thing when he saw Christie was available, just like Polian did in 1992 -

Must be the same 32 idiots just don't see the pro bowl potential, they didn't see it the day of the draft & they're still blind. The fact that he isn't even on a practice squad is proof that 32 GMs are totally incompetent. -
I picked the Eagles this week. One thing I use as a tie breaker if I'm trying to figure which team to use is I prefer a home team. There are more upsets when the road team is a heavy favorite. Three years ago I won a suicide pool by picking the 49ers over the Bills on a Sunday night game. Arizona had beaten the Raiders in the afternoon and everyone else was wiped out leading to the evening. We had no chance in that game & I figured I might as well go against the Bills as the lock of the week. We lost 35-0 & I picked up $250.

Kerry's response to Republican Convention
Albany,n.y. replied to Albany,n.y.'s topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Because he said he'd vote to give the President the power to decide what to do in the best interest of the country. He didn't say he would have gone to war the way Bush did. He believes in the power of the Presidency because he will need to have that power in about 4 1/2 months. You've been watching too much of the convention and have started believing the lies. I watched the convention too, heard all the lies and didn't believe them. -
Kerry's response to Republican Convention
Albany,n.y. posted a topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Taken from Kerry's speech to be made at midnight 9/3/04 Excerpts of John Kerry's Upcoming Remarks The election comes down to this. If you believe this country is heading in the right direction, you should support George Bush. But if you believe America needs to move in a new direction, join with us. John and I offer a better plan that will make us stronger at home and more respected in the world. And we need your help to do that. For three days in New York, instead of talking about jobs and the economy, we heard anger and insults from the Republicans. And I'll tell you why. It's because they can't talk about the real issues facing Americans. They can't talk about their record because it's a record of failure. We all saw the anger and distortion of the Republican Convention. For the past week, they attacked my patriotism and my fitness to serve as commander in chief. Well, here's my answer. I'm not going to have my commitment to defend this country questioned by those who refused to serve when they could have and by those who have misled the nation into Iraq. The vice president even called me unfit for office last night. I guess I'll leave it up to the voters whether five deferments makes someone more qualified to defend this nation than two tours of duty. Let me tell you what I think makes someone unfit for duty. Misleading our nation into war in Iraq makes you unfit to lead this nation. Doing nothing while this nation loses millions of jobs makes you unfit to lead this nation. Letting 45 million Americans go without health care makes you unfit to lead this nation. Letting the Saudi royal family control our energy costs makes you unfit to lead this nation. Handing out billions of government contracts to Halliburton while you're still on their payroll makes you unfit. That's the record of George Bush and Dick Cheney. And it's not going to change. I believe it's time to move America in a new direction; I believe it's time to set a new course for America. And we have a specific plan to do just that. So tomorrow morning, John and Elizabeth and Teresa and I are hitting the road across America's heartland. From here, we'll go out and talk with Americans in towns across Ohio, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Michigan. And because a stronger America begins at home, we'll talk about our plan to create jobs, cut taxes for the middle class, lower health care costs, and make America safer and more secure. -
battle for GOP in 2008?
Albany,n.y. replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Why is it a waste of time? Bush can't run again in 2008, and the Republicans will be running a new candidate win or lose. If Kerry is the President Bush can run again. Grover Cleveland lost & won back the Presidency. If one of the two moderates or McCain (who is a conservative but he's able to work well with the opposition & is truly a uniter not a divider) is the Republican nominee, I might be truly undecided in the summer of 08. Scratch Pataki, his speech sucks. -
Dorenbos looks to be done
Albany,n.y. replied to Typical TBD Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
After driving 40 miles to Saratoga Springs where Peabody's couldn't get the game in on the dish, I came home & went to NFL.com & the written play by play has Dorenbos snapping for punts & field goals in the 2nd half. -
American Airlines Flight 77
Albany,n.y. replied to Willyville Guy's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Then what is the filmaker's theory as to where the real plane & it's passengers went? I'm not buying it unless the explanation as to where these people went makes some sense. Right now, without ever saying where the real plane & people aboard it are, the theory has no merit. -

The Democrats put a lot more speakers on the podium. The Republicans are starting later and filling up the time with a lot of fluff & no politics. It's basically unwatchable on C-span because I don't want to hear singers & watch trips to charities. It's like watching half time of the East-West Shrine game. I want to listen to speakers & the Republicans have muzzled most of the people who would be speaking in a real convention. I guess they're afraid of what they might say, like what Pat Buchanan did in 1992, spoke his mind and po'd a lot of moderates.

Which network did you...or do you plan to watch?
Albany,n.y. replied to OnTheRocks's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm watching MSNBC because I wanted to watch the fringe speakers on C-Span, but they aren't letting anyone speak. Instead, every time I turn on C-Span to get the feel of the convention they're either doing a roll call vote for the nomination or they have some group singing or doing something that has nothing to do with politics. When the Democrats held their convention I'd get home from work and they were parading speakers out there all night. I was hoping I could turn on C-Span & see the same things from the Republicans, but they don't even start the convention until prime time. -

Jim Kelly at Republican Convention?

Kelly has campaigned with Republicans on numerous occasions-great QB but nobody's perfect.
