  1. He's saying we should have drafted Leinart & that Whitner was his 8th rated safety.
  2. Edit, oops it's www.wham1180.com You don't even have to register like WGR makes you do-I'm listening on the web right now.
  3. Should be interesting, he called for Levy to be named GM & will probably be bashing him big time tonight.
  4. I can't disagree more. We're not winning the Super Bowl next year, and with your philosophy, we probably never will. However, if we improved the QB position in the middle of a rebuild, we might just win the Super Bowl 3 years from now. I guarantee you if our QB play is bad enough to get us the top pick in the 2007 draft, the Bills will not pass on Brady Quinn, no matter how little impact he has in the 2007 season. Impact QBs are almost never available via free agency. The only reason Brees (FA) and Culpepper (Trade) were available this offseason was because each was coming off a devastating injury. Find one other season where a FA QB was available who could be counted on to win. Carolina got very lucky that NO couldn't properly evaluate QBs as evidenced by their letting both Bulger & Delhomme get away in favor of Aaron Brooks. Our GM's philosophy when he was head coach was that your best "new" starters are the previous rookie class. Dwight Adams says you start at QB-They are both right.
  5. I know exactly what I'm saying-With the 8th pick in the 2006 draft, the Buffalo Bills should have selected Matt Leinart. His arm strength is not any different than Tom Brady's, and the last time I looked, Brady is doing ok with the weather in NE. I have only one question: In 5 years who will be the best of these three QBs-Leinart, Losman, Nall? My answer is Leinart, if you don't answer Leinart, then you can justify not drafting him. But if your answer is Leinart, the Bills should have drafted him because no matter what anyone says, your most important player is your quarterback. I base my judgement on Leinart on the one pattern I've found that pinpoints success in drafting QBs-if a QB would have been a 1st round pick in his jr year, stayed in school and maintained his 1st round status, his success rate is most likely 100%. Look it up & find me a 1st round bust who qualifies-there aren't any! In the Q&A with Dwight Adams, he stated you build a team around the QB-I agree with Mr. Adams. The Bills should have drafted Matt Leinart. Can you honestly say you believe, with great confidence that this team can be built around, JP Losman, Craig Nall or Kelly Holcomb? I can't. That's what I'm saying-and I know what I'm saying!
  6. Mr. Irrelevant: That's exactly where Vick will be drafted-the Raiders have the last pick in the draft. Typical Al Davis pick, unless Seattle or Cincinnati-the two teams who year after year draft more thugs without regard to character than any other teams, get him 1st.
  7. He wasn't here by the time Mularkey got here. The only way Mularkey ever gets another head coaching job is if there's a fire while all the coaches are together in the film room, and he's the lone survivor. He probably would be too, because he'd take the coward's way out while the rest of the guys burned-that's how he coached this team last December-only caring about himself.
  8. Detroit had a great draft, Joey Harrington was the right choice at #3-That's true if you count longevity-he lasted longer with Detroit than the next guy picked-Mike Williams
  9. It was Butler who shied away from underclassmen. When Polian was our GM, there weren't that many underclassmen in the draft-You'd have to see his Carolina & Indy drafts to see if he stays away from underclassmen.
  10. Sapp & Lynch are not Hall Of Famers. You've sunk to the level of some of those in the media who are always calling above average players Hall Of Famers. It doesn't make them HOFers. Meanwhile, Whitner & McCargo are POTENTIAL Hall Of Famers, as are all players drafted until proven otherwise.
  11. He never would have been there at 42. My draft guides are better than your draft guides
  12. We have pick 70. That's in the 3rd round-WAKE UP!
  13. The same guy who was Travis Henry's agent, was confirmed through photos doing bowling ball shots in our parking lot & in a drunken rage threatened to screw the Bills for their treatment of TH. I'm glad TD's gone because he has no animosity towards Marv.
  14. I would have traded the pick & moved down to Denver's 15 or Philly's 14, if I had Marv's mindset of no QB. If Whitner was gone, I would have traded down again & drafted McCargo somewhere later in the 1st round or if I couldn't trade down further, drafted McCargo at 14 or 15 (I know, big reach-but I'd be using Marv's board). If that happened I'd go to my next S or OT on the board to draft. It's obvious that Winston Justice wasn't high on the Bills board. Personally, since I think Leinart is the next Tom Brady, I'd have taken Leinart & dumped one of our top 3, probably JP even though the salary cap hit would have been huge. I can't fault Marv beyond not trading down in the 1st, if someone else wanted Whitner early, Marv is right. If JP & Nall bust and Leinart is a star, Marv blew it, but with our line maybe Leinart wouldn't be a star here. So, basically, I'm still trusting Marv at this point, he's got a lot better info than I do.
  15. I'll list 2-NFL Draft Scout's final mock draft had McCargo going at the exact pick we took him. Russ Lande (GMjr) had McCargo rated DT #2, ahead of Bunkley.
  16. We still have the Henry pick, so Marv still has the chance to make a great pick with that selection.
  17. Kiper is never wrong, remember how he blasted us for taking Fina in the 1st round in the same year his #2 & #3 ranked OTs were Eugene Chung & Siupeli Malamala. Since Chung was picked earlier, Kiper would have applauded the pick if he was available & we took him in the Fina spot. He probably would have cheered Malamala if Polian had picked him over Fina. For the record, whether you liked him or not, Fina had a much better career than Mel's #2-3 rated tackles in 1992. WGR has been the voice of reason today, stating repeatedly that guys like Kiper, who Marv's critics are using as their basis to blast our picks, are never held accountable for their opinions after the draft ends. For the record, a lot of "experts" had McCargo going exactly where the Bills picked him.
  18. Russ Lande has McCargo #2 rated DT between Ngata (1) & Bunkley (3). Not that bad a pick.
  19. I have no problem with Houston passing on Reggie Bush. They have a RB (D.Davis) who recently signed a long term deal and Bush would have been a luxury on a team with a lot of needs. However, since there appears to be a whole lot of teams coveting Bush, why sign Mario Williams before pursuing all trade offers? New Orleans is asking a ton for the rights to trade up for Bush, Houston should not have given up the trade option until at least 14:50 of their clock time.
  20. I never got much of a chance to look at this year's draft, past the QBs. I was out of town (working in Buffalo) 2 weeks ago, got sick & never got around to doing the needed research. As a result my only opinions are on the QBs-something we won't be taking. I believe there's been a tremendous amount of overanalysis on this year's QBs. Matt Leinart is the only sure thing in this draft among the QBs. He fits a criteria I will always stand behind that hits almost 100% in predicting QB success: If a QB would have been a 1st round pick as a junior, stays in school & then maintains 1st round status he's a virtual certainty to be anywhere from a solid starter to a superstar. He definitely won't be a bust. The next 2 QBs slated to go in the first round are huge question marks. I never want to spend a 1st rounder on a QB who can best be said to "Have Potential" That's the case with Young, who comes out early-a big danger sign- no matter what Roethlisberger does, most underclass QBs have busted. Add to that he has poor mechanics & lack of an NFL compatible game & he is a major project-never good when projecting a franchise player. Jay Cutler is "fast rising" off arm strength, mobility & a good Senior Bowl week. Let's face it, before senior bowl week, he was not considered 1st round material by a lot of teams. He is erratic & is a major fumbler. The rest you can toss in the air & hope for the best. The guy most likely to go after the top 3 is Kellen Clemens, who is less than 6' 2" and is coming off a broken ankle. Brodie Croyle is college's version of Rob Johnson with all the injuries. I think Reggie McNeal has just as good a shot as Vince Young to be a successful NFL QB, and half the draftnics want to switch him away from QB. Overall, this could be the weakest QB class in years. One caveat: the last time I felt this way was when I saw only Chad Pennington as making it and there were a lot of early QB busts before two guys, Tom Brady & Mark Bulger were picked in the 6th round. I thought both of them would bust. I'm not sold on either Bunkley-underacheiver until his last year & Ngata-one buffet away from Mike Williams weight territory. Outside of D'Brickashaw, the other OTs are flawed. Winstion Justice is a RT who protected a lefty QB-sorry-been there, done that. The other Winston, Eric, may end up at G. Overall, this draft is kind of depressing me. Big ?s at the most important areas of Bills' team needs. If somehow AJ Hawk is available at 8 just draft him. He's probably the best player in the draft.
  21. I don't know what he did at the combine, but his 1st Wonderlic was a 15, so if he scored a 31, he did it by studying for it before the combine. I prefer a non "coached up" Wonderlic: Campus: 4.92 in the 40-yard dash...1.76 in the 10-yard dash...4.7 20-yard shuttle...365-pound bench press...365-pound squat...277-pound power clean...28-inch vertical jump...33 ¾-inch arm length...9 7/8-inch hands...Right-handed...15/24 Wonderlic score.
  22. When I first started driving gas was 27 cents a gallon and we liked it!
