  1. Big difference is when you're 4-10 with 2 weeks to go, virtually nothing good comes from a win. Worse yet was at the time, I still had hopes that Mularkey would wake up & give JP one more game to get experience. Once we beat Cincinnati, Holcomb was a lock to finish the season & JP didn't play. If JP had started the game & lit it up & gave me hope for this season, I would have been happy with the win & would be eagerly anticipating game 16 & this season. Instead, the only good thing that could have possibly come from that game was taken away before the kickoff with Holcomb named the starter.
  2. At 4-10 with a chance of getting rid of TD & Mularkey and getting ahead of the Jets in the draft, which I considered a must because I knew they wouldn't pass on Ferguson, I was definitely openly rooting against the Bills. People seem to have forgotten the team goal is a Super Bowl championship. That's what I root for & if they're not good enough, I want them to get to the point where they are good enough. I just can't stand mediocrity or worse, what we've had the past 2 seasons & other recent seasons-a bad team. A win by a bad team is worthless when you're out of the playoffs late in the season. A loss gives you a better chance to get closer to the goal-especially when an impact player at the position you are weakest at is coveted by a divisional rival that will take the player if they are higher than you in the draft. I believe my position looks at the big picture, not one small insignificant victory to feel good for a few hours. Championships last forever. Any time the Bills are out of the playoffs in December, I'm in draft pick mode. Maybe the shortsighted fans who think every win is great, (no matter what it costs in the long run, like December wins by 4-10 teams, and look forward to each sub 500 season because they'll be happy with a late season, meaningless win by a playoff eliminated team) are happy on the Sunday the Bills win that meaningless game. I'm not! I'd rather lose a game or two more and get a Bruce Smith, who can help get me to the show, than wallow in mediocrity for the next decade.
  3. We could have had Mangold when we traded up to get McCargo, getting sicker with each reply
  4. Now I'm really getting ill, we ended up with Mike Willams instead
  5. I hope the people who were gleeful last Christmas Eve still have that feeling of euphoria. Meanwhile, back in the real world, the New York Jets have the anchor of their O-line in D'Brick-the guy we would have drafted if we had lost at Cincinnati. Have another eggnog, and keep that Cincy win euphoria alive!
  6. Look at the combined records of the teams those players play for and you'll understand why they are the leaders. Only Miller gets an exemption from the all "They're always kicking off against my team" team.
  7. I don't ever want a Bill to lead the league in kickoff return yards. I'd rather have the Bills' lead the league in fewest kickoffs by opponents.
  8. Sort of like asking the question why the NFL has banned the Bills from the opponents' endzone?
  9. It's because the same excuses that were made why the Bills should stick with Rob Johnson are now being made for JP Losman. Dig up the old RJ posts from the late 90s/early 00s and its the same s**t, different QB.
  10. The Kelly injury he remembers is from the Super Bowl that same season. Sadly there was no miracle Frank Reich comeback, as we lost 52-17.
  11. If you want to dredge up ancient history, how about McCain? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keating_Five
  12. They just showed the tape on NBC news. He refused the money & was never charged with anything. Knowing how FOX news works, they'll probably edit the refusal out of the tape.
  13. According to the local sportscast WNYT 13, & KFFL: Patriots | Team signs Testaverde Tue, 14 Nov 2006 14:47:51 -0800 ESPNews reports the New England Patriots have signed QB Vinny Testaverde (Jets). Details of the contract were not disclosed. Here's the ESPN link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2662075
  14. A lot of money to pay the top pick in the 2008 draft.
  15. $2,464,000 in dead space if we cut him. According to Clumpy's page, he had $3,696,000 in dead space if he was cut this year with 3 years left on the bonus of $1,232,000 per year. So with 2 years left it's $2,464,000. This means his original signing bonus was $6,160,000.
  16. I can see it now, Baltimore has clinched their playoff spot & has nothing to play for, so they start Boller & Madden conducts a clinic all night on how not to play QB in the NFL.
  17. When Rob Johnson was here I was making excuses for him just like the Losman supporters are making for him now. It's the same stuff all over again! Give him time, you can't give up on a QB after only XX games! He can learn not to hold onto the ball too long. Just because he's from SoCal, doesn't mean he can't play in Buffalo He tries so hard. He's a nice guy. The other guys have no long term future with the Bills. He needs a better Offensive Line. The only difference is JP doesn't let us out of our misery like Rob did, because he's more durable. We won't be fooled again.
  18. No, but we'd have hope that he's going through rookie growing pains. Marv preferred Cutler anyway, so we'd be growing with Cutler if Marv had jettisoned JP. The point is many of us have seen enough of JP to come to the conclusion that the Bills will NEVER have a winning record with JP as QB. He is an inadequate player who does not appear to have the necessary intangibles to succeed as a starting QB in the NFL . There can only be 2 reasons for the team not turning to Nall: 1) He hasn't shown enough in practice to indicate he has any potential to be a successful starting QB in the NFL 2) The coaches have some pipe dream that with improved talent around him, JP would be playing like a legitimate NFL QB, and plan on keeping him as next year's starter. Put me in the JP is a bust column, I've seen enough.
  19. Take a look at how Jim Ballard dominated in college & then try to remember his time with the Bills. No way that low a level player starts as a rookie, odds say he's a developmental project at best. Edit: I just looked him up, he's 5-11 190 lbs-forgetaboutit! http://www.esu.edu/athletics/fb04/jterwilliger04.htm
  20. What younger TEs? Kevin Everett is worthless & will never develop into anything but a former NFL player and Neufeld is no youngster to develop.
  21. Willis might have some trade value. Right now, unless he has a great 2nd half, Takeo has no trade value, and if he does have a great 2nd half, we're crazy to let him go.
  22. I didn't want to chance a snowstorm or drive for a long time on the night of New Year's Eve. I figured that for $285 including a motel for Saturday night, it was worth flying. If I had to do it again, I'd probably drive, since I found out I can't bring anything into the stadium & if I drove I could have brought a suitcase.
  23. I figured if there was a delay, I'd still get home the same day. I didn't expect them to move my flight 4 hours forward. I'm now leaving at 8:55 & I'll have a lot of spare time. I'll be waiting hours at the airport now, because I'll probably hop on the MTA light rail to the airport shortly after the game. They run about 9 trains between the time the game ends & my flight. At least I should have no trouble getting to the airport on time, I know I was cutting things close, but I always figured on booking the earliest flight out because of delays. Now I don't have to rush out of the stadium so in the long run it probably is better & I've learned a few things since yesterday.
