  1. He's groomed a bunch of misfits into a solid up & coming line. LT-Early on he saw the potential of an undrafted TE to be groomed into an OT. Now he's got a guy who may end up being a Pro Bowler for the next decade. LG-Took a guy off the scrap heap after his release by 2 teams, moved him to his proper position and now the guy is in line to get starting G money on a new contract. C-Took a guy who backed up more games than he started his first 4 years and has him playing the best C since a guy named James Kent Hull RG-Has plugged in a 2nd year 4th round pick and not missed a beat. RT-It took half a season, but he groomed a 7th round rookie to be a starting tackle and the OL improved. In the words of Larry Felser, who says it can't be done: Jim McNally has turned chicken scratch into chicken salad.
  2. Shaud Williams was inactive, but the A train should have been in at the end.
  3. Mularkey deserves all the credit for saving Joey "Double Zero" Harrington's career.
  4. In the past, when there was a Bills Express, and a couple of times since, I've been in the bus lot on Abbott, observed the traffic and though the traffic was a little rough going east via Southwestern. I've also been there a couple of times for the opening day tailgates when I've bummed a ride with Petrino. As I said, your lot is great if you want to linger and avoid the traffic altogether.
  5. When I lived in Tonawanda & Kenmore, I always parked there and went home on local roads avoiding the highways that jam up near the stadium. It's best for someone who lives local or is headed west, not east.
  6. I only go 219 if I beat the traffic (usually a game that ends on the last play of the game). When that happens, I take Southwestern to Milestrip (the one further up where it loops around back to Southwestern) to 219 etc, However when I get out behind the early leavers, since I stay to the end, I usually go straight east/north on Southwestern until Depew exit of 90. This gives me the opportunity to stop at either Andersons or Burger King & eat while I drive.
  7. The Dolphins are proud to announce that Marcus Vick will be their starting QB in 2007. Nick Saban was quoted "Marcus has earned the right to go into the 2007 season as our starting QB. This far surpasses the little boat ride that earned Daunte Culpepper the 2006 opening day start. Marcus' progress in the criminal justice system makes him a true Dolphin. I know he's worked hard on his record and I expect him to work even harder in preparation for next season."
  8. I can't wait for SoCal to fall into the ocean after your next earthquake so that the Clippers can return to Buffalo and be the Braves again.
  9. There's no such parking that fits your requirements. Here's what I do: I get there early & park in drive 5, one of the 1st few rows right by the exit. Since the police let the stadium lot traffic out and the private lots do not, a private lot is tougher to get out of. By parking near the exit, I don't get burried deep in the lot, which can happen if you're a lot of rows away from the exit. I have a 5 hour ride home & getting out easily is very important to me. The cost is $15. Now if you plan on leaving before the crowd, or if you want to extend your tailgaiting past gametime, Hammer's lot is good, but, sorry Hammer, Abbott Rd is not the place for someone looking for a quick exit from the stadium area. However, your lot is one of the best for lingering after the game. PS: If there's a lot of traffic, don't get on 219 or the Thruway going home. Go straight up 20 (Southwestern) & stay on when it becomes 78 (Transit Rd) & get on the Thruway at Depew-you avoid the big toll booths. However, if you manage to beat the traffic, take 219 to the Thruway.
  10. The Falcons won't do it for 1 big reason: It would expose Schaub as the career backup he is and make it impossible to hoodwink some club into trading for him like Jacksonville did to the Bills in 1998 with RJ.
  11. Dolphins | Team signs S. Matthews Wed, 13 Dec 2006 10:20:31 -0800 Jeff Darlington, of the Miami Herald, reports the Miami Dolphins signed free agent QB Shane Matthews.
  12. The Mayflower trucks are circling 1 Bills Drive like buzzards. It will get worse with them clogging up traffic on Sunday. We're doomed!!!!!! I agree. This whole moving nonsense has gotten way out of hand. Half these people have had the death watch on Ralph since he turned 70. The only difference now is they have a death watch on Ralph, Marv & the franchise.
  13. If a Bills player drives drunk & kills one of your relatives, please use this as your victim impact statement and beg for no jail time so the team can win another game. Also I hope the next time YOU drive drunk, the cops nail your @ss.
  14. Sullivan wrote a great column today with the same sentiments. What hasn't been mentioned is that getting to 8-8 or 9-7 is very important when courting free agents & telling them they can be on a team on the rise. TD was able to sell that to Takeo & Sam Adams after Drew's 1st season. Players like these won't come to a 6-10 team. Last year, at the time of the Bengals game, was a totally different scenario. First it was the 2nd to last game of the season. At 4-10, the season was already down the drain, the idiot coach was playing veterans who had no chance of being contributors to a future championship team and getting rid of the coach & gm was a priority. I was openly rooting for a loss because we had a shot at a premium pick (which would have meant Ferguson) and the future would be better with a total tear down of the team's management. Now, with the new management in place, losing down the stretch is not a good option. If you look at giant leaps that most teams with coaches in their 2nd season make, it is after showing improvement in the final part of the previous season. Progress is visable at the end of 1 season & carries over to the next. The best cases usually involve the 2nd season of a new coaching staff that got it together after the mid season point of their 1st year with the team.
  15. Davis has been called an undertaker too, but not in the same word as in: Davis is an underachiever who takes the team down with him.
  16. Have harvey and all lawyers help me please. I like the 1st part, but keep those lawyers away.
  17. God is Love Love is blind Stevie Wonder is blind Stevie Wonder is God
  18. Then how come the Republicans say it's only a matter of time before we are attacked again? You can't have it both ways.
  19. He accomplished what the Democrats couldn't do-get a Democratic majority in the House & Senate. Positive: Sired 2 hot daughters.
  20. He only needs one book there, "My Pet Goat".
  21. The bottom line is this, whether it is intentional or just psychological it happens every year. There's no such thing as a "home job", instead it's a "have job" in the NFL (& NBA, I don't follow hockey, so I can't say whether it's the same in the NHL). By this time of year the haves & have nots are established. The "haves" get the breaks. It's been that way for years. For whatever reason, awe of superstars, unintentionally expecting the better team to actually be better, or just plain incompetence, the refs give the breaks to the team they EXPECT to win. As a result, the team that is expected to win gets the breaks from the refs. It may just be as simple as they are fans of the game and get carried away admiring the good teams. A more sinister thought would be they want to prop up the best teams so that they are more interesting come playoff time. Two 14-2 teams meeting for the AFC championship, might appear to be better than two 11-5 teams. I don't believe that, but a conspiracy nut easily could. Think about it, we seldom have had games to remember as poorly officiated, years later, when we were an elite team. We seem to get screwed when the team is perceived as mediocre or worse and the other team is better or has a popular player loved by all (officials?). When we get good again, the refs will be on our side-right now with our current non playoff string, we'll be playing against more than 11 guys when an elite team is our opponent.
