  1. OJ did a lot of the things you mention & is on the wall of fame. Now a lot of them were not as a Bill, but some, like the drugs were.
  2. He gave the Bills some credit after a Monday Night win in 1989 vs the Rams.
  3. What I find really interesting is that partisans, like you, turned this thread into a Republican/Democrat thing when my original post in this thread stated that there are worse things than buttons and brought up a comparison between lying about candidates and lack of FCC regulations while someone like Howard Stern says something about sex and is fined huge $. If there was someone saying bad things about McCain (sort of like RUSH did before McCain got the nomination) I would feel the same way. Rush gets away with slander by hiding behind "I heard a rumor"-no matter what idiot started it, yet the FCC bags the sex talkers. You and your partisan friends turned it into Republican v Democrat. As I said-Rush has the biggest audience-he's not repeating the rumors except for the obvious reason that he wants it spread all over the place. Also, if you partisans are so convinced there is a tape-find it & show it!
  4. Since I'm not a Democrat or Republican, I can blame anyone & everyone who lies for political purposes and not have to check the political party before I hold my criticism. Rush, Beckel & Johnson are all idiots. As is Hillary Clinton for trying to run a lousy campaign & then screaming sexism when it didn't work. Rush has a bigger audience & therefore gets the most criticism when he spreads rumors, since he reaches more people than the others you mention-yeah that does make sense.
  5. They're as delusional as the ones who thought we'd get a 2nd for JP. The irony is Youboty has less trade value than JP.
  6. It's mild compared with the outright lies & slanderous comments that Rush & his ilk will spew over our airwaves, yet if guys like Howard Stern mention a sex act, without any lies & slander, they get fined while Rush talks BS and there is no FCC violation. Here's one on Rush claiming a tape exists of Obama's wife saying "whitey". He gets away with this sh-- by saying "I've heard a rumor". http://my.barackobama.com/page/invite/notape
  7. I think Fred Smerlas once said, or wrote in a book that when they got in the huddle during Hank's last game, Bruce said something like -Anybody making any f'n tackles, I'll get you (If anyone has the book & it's in there, please quote it).
  8. I'd rather sign Lee Evans & give more $ to Jason Peters than bring in Haynesworth, even without any compensation to the Titans.
  9. The main reasons a player holds out before the season starts are 1) If he's a veteran, as long as he keeps in shape, a holdout in camp is no big deal-we've been there before with Thurman, Bruce, OJ etc. 2) No 2 a days-Bruce loved that part 3) Look at the economics-a player making $4 million (Peters' contract after reaching incentives) loses $250,000 a game. You have to miss a heck of a lot of practices before reaching $250,000. A camp holdout is less harmful to the player & the team.
  10. Just to clarify the house part. There is an exemption: For single person you can make a $250,000 profit on your home-defined as current sale price minus-(purchase price + improvement $ spent on the home during ownership period+ selling costs) as long as you've occupied the home 2 of the last 5 years before the sale. So if you are an owner occupant who has owned the home for 2 years, you get the exemption. It gets better for married people-the exemption is $500,000. So for most people, there is no capital gains tax when they sell their home. Now if one spouse dies, the surviving spouse has until the end of the year of death to sell & get the $500,000 exemption. http://www.irs.gov/publications/p523/ar02.html#d0e377
  11. Sorry to disagree, but a place at the WGRZ building is more appropriate. The Wall of Fame is reserved for football achievements and contributions.
  12. He was drafted in 2007, waived, Green Bay put in a claim, but chose not to use the claim after a claim on another player came through. He then signed with the Bills practice squad, later he was elevated to the roster. PRO: Drafted with the 12th pick of the seventh round (222nd overall) in the 2007 draft…the 11th tight end drafted…was one of four Boise St. Broncos drafted…the third player from Boise State drafted by the Bills, the first since 1976. 2007: Played in three games, with one start… Tallied three catches for 19 yards… Spent first five weeks of the season on the practice squad, before being promoted to the 53-man roster… Placed on injured reserve on Nov. 8, 2007… Made NFL debut vs. Bal. (10/21)… Recorded first NFL reception at NYJ (10/28), for nine yards… Had two catches for 10 yards vs. Cin (11/4) http://www.buffalobills.com/team/player.jsp?player_id=122760
  13. It says that 9% is either undecided or voting for a different candidate-as of June. The June polls are worthless in predicting the election. But if the election was held as of the poll, assuming the electoral college somewhat matched the 5%, Obama wins. But relying on a June poll for a November election is like trying to find a gas station selling gas today at its January price. Things can change quickly.
  14. Here's an alternate theory: Marshawn doesn't like to drink alcohol. Marshawn wants to appear to be drinking. So, he fills a bottle with water or mixes it with food coloring. He pours the "alcohol" into his non-alcoholic drink to make it appear to the people he's trying to impress that he is drinking. However, Marshawn really isn't drinking any alcohol. Why would a rich guy who spends pretty lavishly (look at his car & probably his clothing) need to save $ on alcohol unless he's faking it? If not, then the ones who said he was drinking something unavailable in the bar are correct. I seriously doubt he did it to save $. Once a kid is a #1 pick, he has money-he's not broke because at worst, his agent is advancing him $ and Marshawn wasn't in Buffalo until he was drafted.
  15. The Bills cut a TE a few years ago named Jason Peters. Some years before that they cut Jay Riemersma. Both ended up on the practice squad (although the Giants worked out Peters before he joined the Bills PS). They almost lost Schouman on a waiver claim by the Packers, but GB put in multiple claims & ended up with a different claimed player on their roster. If a team thinks they can sneak a late rounder, who doesn't figure to play much, onto the practice squad, they'll do it. Years ago GB waived their 6th rd pick, Matt Hasselbeck, and put him on the practice squad.
  16. It is Flutie's fault: Flutie campaigned for Hillary, Hillary wouldn't have stuck around if she hit a Canadian after 3 AM. Marshawn thought What would Hillary Clinton do? and fled the scene.
  17. From the title I thought this was a Travis Henry thread. If Lynch is unavailable and Travis wants to come back at a low salary-Travis yes, Chris NO.
  18. The problem is with the laws as they are currently enforced. I remember a few years ago, a prominent Buffalo area attorney was drunk and hit and killed a man on a bicycle and left the scene. He literally left him on the road to die. When he was caught there were some stories about it in the Buffalo News. The reason the lawyer left the scene was because since he knew the law, he knew the penalties for a hit & run were a lot less severe than vehicular homicide while DWI. Like it or not, the law favors the hit & runner because they can't prove that he was drunk at the time of the accident if he leaves the scene. Basically, the way the current laws are, it is a huge advantage legally to leave the scene of an accident than to stay and get a DWI with property damage, bodily injury or death. In spite of the outcry and calls to change the laws at the time of the hit & run lawyer, nothing much has changed. If you truly are outraged, demand of your politicians and elected judges that the penalties for leaving the scene are made stronger than for staying at the scene. The act of drinking and driving is pretty selfish to begin with. Why would someone selfish enough to drink and drive man up to a stiffer penalty when the current laws encourage leaving the scene of a DWI accident?
  19. If he fumbles his clipboard and it lands on the field where a key player trips over it and gets injured, it could ruin our whole season.
  20. Who knew that when Billy Martin said the words "One's a born liar and the other's convicted" that it would be so applicable to the Clintons.
  21. Hillary wants to know you who you like in the NBA Finals: San Antonio or Detroit? To paraphrase Yogi, It's over when it's over. The fact that Hillary didn't concede last night is the definition of the word chutzpa. To think she, the most arrogant elitist going, tried to pin the elitist tag on Obama during the campaign is just ridiculous. If she's on the ticket, she helps to sink it.
  22. Not all of us. If the link works check out my 2/12/07 post. I'll now state something similar: Obama-McCain-WAY too early for any poll to mean anything. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...mp;#entry912425
