  1. That's interesting, because this week I received an e-mail from the NFL that links up Ticketmaster's NFL ticket exchange & the Patriots had tickets sold by their fans on the list. It appears they can't scalp them, but they are selling them at face plus the ticketmaster vig. It now looks like almost every team is in on this, even the Patriots. http://www.nfl.com/tickets?campaign=email_Tickets0927
  2. The Super Bowl teams would get their @ss kicked one or more times a year. Fans in 2008 should keep this in mind the first time the 2008 Bills play a really bad game. It's a 16 game season & that stuff will happen once in a while. Here's a list of the worst defeats in the Super Bowl years: 1990: L30-7 @ Mia-this was a definitive game. Marv read them the riot act after several players complained about being held out in the 4th quarter. They won 8 straight games and only lost 1 game the rest of the way before tanking the season ender after home field had been clinched. 1991: L 33-6 @ KC 1992: There were some ugly games in this, the only Super Bowl year that they didn't win the division & have home field. They had consecutive losses in back to back weeks twice. 1st in October, a 37-10 loss against the Dolphins at home and a 20-3 loss against the Raiders on the road. Then in late November, they lost an OT game in Indy followed by a 24-17 loss to a bad Jets team fired up by the Dennis Byrd injury the prior week. The final game of the season was the 27-3 loss at Houston where the Bills lost both Jim Kelly and home field throughout the playoffs. 1993: The 12-4 Bills got whipped in 3 games. In September, they lost at home 22-13 to the Dolphins in a game Miami jumped out to a big lead early. Then they really got kicked around in a couple of November road games-23-0 at Pittsburgh & 23-7 at KC. In fact the Bills lost 3 of 4 games from 11/15-12/5. So next time the Bills have a bad game & WGR starts whining, call up & remind them that even the greatest Bills teams got mauled once in a while.
  3. I have to drink a lot of lemonade (to help battle kidney stones), and Newman's is the best on the market. One reason is that Newman's contains 15% lemon juice. That's the highest % of real juice on the market (tied with several other brands). Newman's also has a 25% lower sugar/calorie option as one of the few varieties available. Some lemonades are 2-3% juice with lots of added sugar-that's not doing anyone who has to drink lemonade much good.
  4. He's predicting the City of Buffalo will go for Obama more than the City of St Louis
  5. The 1994 Packers camp featured not only the best group of QBs (based on future career production) but also possibly the best group of assistants (based on future coaching careers) since the NY Giants of the 50s. The QBs : Brett Favre, a future Hall of Famer; Mark Brunell-a solid starter for about a decade; Kurt Warner-not only a solid starter & Super Bowl winner like Favre, but a guy who still is playing at a high level in 2008; and Ty Detmer-a solid backup for years. Obviously, Warner got cut, but GM Ron Wolf certainly had a keen eye for QB talent. The Coaches: The Head Coach Mike Holmgren, ending a run in 2008, great longevity in a tough business. Steve Mariucci-Went on to success in SF before getting Millenized in Detroit. Andy Reid-long time Eagles head coach. Jon Gruden-Successful in both Oakland and Tampa Bay, where he won a Super Bowl. Finally DICK JAURON, the current Bills head coach. Before the season started, I picked the Bills to beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl. If I'm right, it will be a mini reunion of two guys who served on the same staff up in Green Bay. I'm sure there will be lots of talk about the Green Bay staff of the 1990s if these two teams play in the big one.
  6. He saw what you were too blind to see-during the final drive, they finally let Trent do something they wouldn't let him do most of the game-throw downfield. He was accurate in the snowstorm, even though he'd been handcuffed by Fairchild the entire game and not permitted to make those attempts earlier. It's funny how Trent's detractors have pointed to the Cleveland & Giants' games while ignoring conditions that caused his stat sheet to be less than stellar. Additionally they convieniently forget the bad weather home game against Miami and blame Fairchild for JP's failures, yet, when Fairchild contributed to Trent's failures all you hear from them is dead silence.

  8. The best one I ever saw was when Larry Centers was on Arizona & after a Redskin intercepted and ran it back a bunch of yards, Larry tackles the guy & then does a gorilla flex. The Redskins around him pointed to the scoreboard as they were trouncing the Cardinals. My guess is Centers must have been used to playing special teams & forgot that he was tackling a guy who had just intercepted his QB.
  9. I looked for this before I posted, but I never opened your thread because you got too cute with the title & I was looking for PETA in a subject title. If the mods want to merge it, that would be ok as long as one can see it's about the PETA nuts somewhere.
  10. http://www.wptz.com/news/17539127/detail.html PETA Urges Ben & Jerry's To Use Human Milk Group Says Move Would Help Humans, Cows WATERBURY, Vt. -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman. "PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow's milk in the food he serves," the statement says. PETA Urges Ben & Jerry's To Use Human Milk PETA officials say a move to human breast milk would lessen the suffering of dairy cows and their babies on factory farms and benefit human health. "The fact that human adults consume huge quantities of dairy products made from milk that was meant for a baby cow just doesn't make sense," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "Everyone knows that 'the breast is best,' so Ben & Jerry's could do consumers and cows a big favor by making the switch to breast milk." "We applaud PETA's novel approach to bringing attention to an issue, but we believe a mother's milk is best used for her child," said a spokesperson for Ben and Jerry's.
  11. 1) Because the Bills won the game 2) Because the play was debatable-not an obvious blunder. While the tie may go to offense, the ruling was that the receiver never had full possession & since the ball didn't ever hit the ground, someone had to be awarded the catch. Debatable, yes but an obviously blown call-no.
  12. I agree, you need seasons 1 & 2. Last year I watched an episode in a motel after I bailed out in Canandaigua instead of going all the way home after the Miami game and it was watchable, but I really didn't know why some things were as they were until I saw the show sequentially.
  13. I get it in ok, but it sounds tinny. It's been that way for a week or longer.
  14. I like them both. Just picked up Showtime in time for Dexter season 3. I saw season 1 on CBS & 2 on DVD. Californication is pretty good too, but is a totally different style than Dexter. I was home sick last Wednesday & watched 7 episodes on Showtime On Demand in the afternoon. It's not for anyone who gets offended by sexual situations on tv, but you can guess that from the title. They had some really good subplots involving various family & career situations. I also like the fact that Showtime has Inside The NFL. When I called up my cable company & was told it was only $8.30 more a month to add to my existing cable package, I was sold on it.
  15. It's because a lot of Bills fans on this board wanted Favre. Here's what I said in post 59 of the attached thread, I stand by that as well as post 16 & my others, especially 76 & 81, but I've moved the Super Bowl timetable up by a year: Because you'll screw up the salary cap so badly you'll have no $ left to re-sign Evans, make Peters happy, extend other young players, and be able to afford your top rookies without releasing some players. Not to mention that you're not letting the team grow together with Edwards. This team can make the playoffs this year and the Super Bowl next year without Favre. Why bring him in and risk him playing this year, while the team may need one more free agent & draft class to reach the top, then pull the same crap he's done in Green Bay & "retire" again? Plus, do you really think GB is going to release him with no strings? It's not going to happen-they'll want compensation-further weakening the Bills long term goals. I agree-Just say no! http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...p;#entry1069453
  16. We used it in the Raiders game too. Fred Jackson was the QB.
  17. I just looked up the schedule for Sunday on WRGB's website. The game is on at 4, local programming at 1. They learned their lesson.
  18. Sorry-You're wrong. I was at the game & I saw the play from the endzone that the ball was thrown towards. I saw the pushoff & as soon as the flag was thrown I told Petrino that it's on Evans. I also watched the replays on the scoreboard-the same ones you saw on your tv. Whoever was manning the cameras missed the play. The timing and angles occurred AFTER Evans had pushed off. So if you're at the stadium and you're watching Evans, you see the entire play. If you're just watching the replay, the replay starts too late for you to see the obvious push off that gained Evans the separation. I had to explain to the people around me who weren't paying close attention to the full play, that the camera didn't show the pushoff. Clearly the conclusion you drew from the replay was the correct conclusion from what was shown. However what was shown didn't include the infraction. So please don't say being at the game counts less-we see more than you do, see what you do on the scoreboard replay & don't have to rely on a late camera to draw a conclusion.
  19. Will someone from the "he can't play in bad weather" crowd please explain why 1) He performed so well against Miami in bad weather last December & 2) When Fairchild finally took the handcuffs off in the blizzard in Cleveland he was crisp & accurate in his downfield passing on the drive in the final minute. You continue to ignore these facts and just keep up your rant, it's time to show some guts & address this. (I won't be here to see your response until Monday because some of us have a game to attend, where we can judge the weather far better than someone with a stat sheet)
  20. FirstDIBZ.com It looks like they still have some futures left @ $50. http://www.firstdibz.com/markets/sports/nf...uper-bowl-xliii
  21. I've seen this article here a while ago, but since we play the Raiders, it's worth repeating. The Bills were afraid that the Saints would trade up to pick 91 (New England's) & draft Edwards. Then the Raiders stepped in & traded up to draft (backup) OT Mario Henderson with pick . http://www.buffalobills.com/news/news.jsp?news_id=4770
  22. I was confident enough on August 17th (after the Pittsburgh game) to spend $107 that locks me into 2 Super Bowl tickets at face value after the $107, if the Bills get in, otherwise I lose the $107. I was also confident enough so that when Whitner guaranteed playoffs & a guy at work was mocking Whitner, I bet him & another guy who was around at the time he was mocking Whitner $10 each that the Bills would make the playoffs.
  23. He wasn't outplayed in the Miami romp-In Bad Weather, so you're wrong, he didn't lose them all. Also the 2 ridiculous weather games you site were against better TEAMS. One of them was the Super Bowl Champion. You have no basis other than parroting some idiots on WGR who start this garbage. The Super Bowl Manning won wasn't in a blizzard or a monsoon, so get some facts, will you. I'm sure the weather against Miami was worse than Manning's Super Bowl, but you forget that game because it doesn't fit your theory. Similar to forgetting JP's W/L record in ALL WEATHER.
