I started channel surfing after the debate, first MSNBC, where I couldn't take Palin did great Buchannan vs Palin sucked Maddow. Then it was on to FOX News & CNN. On FOX News they had a group of undecided voters. They asked the group who won the debate. Most raised their hands for Palin. On CNN they had a group of undecided voters. They asked the group who won the debate. Most raised their hands for Biden. At that point I couldn't take it anymore & turned off the post debate spin.

One of the reasons I can't stand QB rating stats & even QB TD stats is because a QB gets more TD passes if he passes on X & goal than if he hands off to a RB at the end of a long drive. A QB who orchestrates a TD drive of 80 yards isn't any better because he threw on 2nd & 2 and scored a TD than if he handed off to the RB for a rushing TD. Yet, his QB rating and TD % is better. There are so many other situations that reflect in ratings such as a receiver having a pass bounce off his hands into a CB's hands for an int or even as we have seen this year against Oakland where the DB wrestles the ball away from the receiver and the QB gets an INT. Another thing stats don't take into account is if the #s are done vs creampuff defenses, or rock solid ones. That's why people who religiously (nothing to do with Jesus, RL) follow QB stats usually can be found wearing a straight jacket in a room with padded walls.

Anyone who thinks Kurt Warner is a top 10 QB of all time loses all credibility. Tell me this: Will Warner be in the Hall of Fame? The answer is no, he won't be in the Hall of Fame. Any player who is a top 10 QB of all time is a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. Kurt Warner is not! Jim Kelly isn't even a top 10 QB of all time and he was a 1st ballot Hall of Famer. Have you ever seen Kurt Warner up close? He has a fundamental problem that he has never been able to overcome-he holds on to the ball too long and does not always sense the pass rush well-that's why he can become a turnover machine like in the 1st half of the Jets game. When he has time in the pocket, Kurt Warner can be as good as any QB. It's when there is the inevitable defender who gets through that throws Warner completely off his game. Just looking at the 1st half of last week's game and you see why Warner is more erratic than any top 10 QB.

I found a good substitute (since I live a lot closer to Foxboro than Toronto): I'm going to watch the Bills beat New England in Foxboro for the 1st time since 2000. Davis is not senile! He knows what he's doing. Why is it that when anyone who is Davis' age says something that younger people disagree with, they declare him senile? Do you know what Davis is suffering from? -79 years of power and arrogance, thinking he can say or do anything he wants to and get away with it-that's a far cry from senility. Plenty of younger people act the same way-you can find a lot of them in Washington, DC.

This coaching staff was also well ahead of the curve on the most important position on the team-Quarterback. They saw that Trent Edwards was a special player in camp last year and recognized that he was the long term answer. Now even though I've disparaged JP many times, most just in anger over the JP is better than Trent reactions of other posters last year & some still through pre-season, this staff realized that while JP may be a decent NFL QB, good enough to start somewhere else, if you have the opportunity to replace good with great, you do it every time. Two things I see from the QB decision. 1)Trent would have been the starter this year whether JP had gotten hurt or not last year in NE. 2) The staff feels that if Trent were to go down, JP is capable enough to keep this year's team going forward. They did not go out and sign a Cleo Lemon for big backup $ when they could have done something like this & just dump JP. I've always said that the coaches (yes even Gregg Williams & Mike Mularkey) see these players every day & know a lot more about them than any of us and to question their decisions to the point of being angry at them is done so from a position of ignorance-no matter how close one follows the team. Not giving a young player more playing time usually means the guy isn't ready yet or the guy above him on the depth chart is better at this point and gives the team a better chance to win now.

I was thinking something along the same lines. Taking away the Bills games and the opponents are 4-7. Take away the dreadful Rams & the opponents are 4-4. The Jags & Seahawaks will make the playoffs. However, we do have a creampuff schedule since the only other sure playoff team we'll play is San Diego, with Denver, who should be 1-3 instead of 3-1, and the Jets also possibilities. Put a fork in NE, they're not going anywhere with Matt Cassell.

Ralph tried this with Wade & it didn't work. When they get to court, Davis will say he was fired for insubordination. When Davis is asked his definition of insubordination and he says that Kiffen wouldn't sign a letter of resignation after he demanded he do so, the judge will not only rule in Kiffin's favor, but will make Davis pay all court costs and attorney fees as well.
