  1. Which QB will be best at hitting an accurate long ball? The QB who won't be on the roster until 2011.
  2. If the Lakers can move from Minneapolis & keep their name, why not the Vikings? Ditto for the New Orleans Jazz now known as the Utah Jazz. Where are all those Rams in Cleveland? The only franchise that moved to a more appropriate city & kept its name that I can think of is when the San Diego Rockets moved to Houston. The Browns didn't keep the name in St Louis, they moved to Baltimore & became the Orioles, & St. Louis never reclaimed the name Browns. .
  3. I don't agree that points against is a good stat to hang your hat on. A team with no offense can give up fewer points because if the other team is comfortably ahead, they will run the ball & the clock out, scoring fewer points. Still we were blown out in 5 of our 10 losses, with an average point differential of over 24 points in those 5 games. Fewell's Tampa D was futile.
  4. If we're lucky add 2010 + 2011 victory totals >/= 9. That's only with a full schedule in 2011. This team is in total rebuild with the franchise QB slated to come from the 2011 draft. The guys running the team know that we'll be horrible in 2010, just like Donahoe & Gregg knew in 2001. They're looking at the rebuild over a 2-3 year draft cycle, not 1 year. April was freed before Gailey ever got here. He was so PO'd that Fewell was named interim coach instead of him, he wanted no part of the 2010 Bills. Fewell was no mistake, I don't think most of us could have handled another year of that ridiculous Tampa defense here.
  5. He is a naturalized citizen, which means he wasn't born here.
  6. I think letting him board the plane was the safest way to apprehend him. 1st he's cleared through the gate, so you know he has no weapons, then you put him in a confined space where he can't run away. When he is approached by armed law enforcement officers on the plane, he's pretty much in custody with no chance of fleeing. I heard on the news that the government is not commenting on the way he was apprehended, but I suspect that if you have someone at the airport, you let him board the plane after a thorough check through security & suprise him in an area where the smaller the space, the better.
  7. The reason you love his conviction is because his manlove for Harrell is just like your manlove for Brian Brohm-saw him in college, loves the stats, etc. Being realistic, this whole thread is ridiculous. It makes more sense if he's being sarcastic towards all the Brohm supporters. In that light, let's bring in Timmy Chang! Timmy is around the same age as when Warner emerged.
  8. Or they think Edwards is as good as Clausen, Tebow, McCoy, and almost all the other QB's that were drafted in the early or mid rounds. Or they think Fitzpatrick is as good as Clausen, Tebow, McCoy, and almost all the other QB's that were drafted in the early or mid rounds. For all any of us know, they think Brohm is trash & Brown was drafted to compete & replace him as 3rd stringer. I love how the Brohm supporters can twist any move the Bills make into a sign that the Bills think of Brohm as anything but another camp QB. We have no evidence what Nix & Gailey think of any of the QBs. For all we know, they could pick 3 guys off the waiver wire in September & cut all 4 of the current QBs.
  9. In the 1980s the Bills spent 1st round picks on Greg Bell in 1984, Ronnie Harmon in 1986 & their 1st pick (2nd round) in 1988 on Thurman Thomas. So that was 3 in 5 years. You do it until you get it right.
  10. We've seen a lot of anti-Fitzpatrick posts in the year he's been here, but of all the QBs, Fitzpatrick is the only one who is a sure thing to be on the opening day roster. Let's review each QBs competition & what each has to do to make the team. Fitzpatrick-He's competing for 2 jobs, starter & #2. If he loses the starting job to either Edwards or Brohm, he's a lock for #2 and a roster spot. The reasons are: He has proven he can come in and win games when called upon. Last season, with no O-line and not much other talent around him, he was the QB who played the most in 5 of the team's 6 wins. He may not be the most accurate QB around, but he's smart & has guts (remember the Fewell comment after a win). He's also the perfect #2 as he can not only come in to win games, but he can be content on the sidelines and not be a distraction as he waits his turn. On a talented team he'd be as valuable as Frank Reich was in the Super Bowl era. Finally, he's the only QB from last season who is signed beyond 2010. Edwards-His best chance is to win the starting job, otherwise he's in jeopardy of getting jettisoned. He has to battle both Fitzpatrick & Brohm for the #1 job. If he loses to Fitzpatrick, he has a decent shot of making the team as #2, since he has starting experience & will not be a total unknown if forced to start for a few weeks. If he loses the starting job to Brohm, then Edwards will not be on the team. He's not going to be #2 behind Brohm-Fitzpatrick is much better suited for that job since the Bills know Fitzpatrick can win games with virtually no O-line in front of him, something Edwards hasn't done. He's not in competition for the 3rd spot, for a rebuilding team, that's designed for a developmental QB who is not eligible for free agency at the end of the season. Brohm-Like Edwards, Brohm's best shot is to win the #1 spot, otherwise he's in big trouble. Obviously he's on the roster if he grabs the starter's job, but he has to beat out both Edwards & Fitzpatrick, easier said than done. Both Edwards & Fitzpatrick have shown ability in real NFL games, something Brohm does not have on his resume. Now let's say he can't win the top spot, then he's probably toast. Your #2 is typically a veteran who has started in the past, or a relatively new high draft choice who you chose as your QB of the future. It is not usually a guy in his 3rd year who has started 1 game and the team has no idea what he can do in season. The reason he can win the starter's job but not #2 is because the Bills can gamble on giving him the starter's job, knowing if he fails they can put the guy who was at the helm 5 of 6 wins in 2009 back in there. They're not going into the fall with Fitzpatrick starting & two guys with one NFL start as his backups. Now lets say he isn't #1 or #2, then he's in the battle of his life against Levi Brown, that does not bode well for Brohm. Brohm has to be good enough to start, otherwise he's going up against Buddy's draft pick for the developmental job, a battle he's likely to lose. Brown-After Fitzpatrick, he's the most likely to be on the roster next September. 1st off he's the Nix/Gailey pick and will be given every chance to make the team as a developmental player. His battle is either against nobody if Brohm is the starter or against Brohm for 3rd string if Brohm can't beat out both Fitzpatrick & Edwards for #1. Just like the Brohm supporters use the excuse that he wasn't picked up on waivers when GB cut him because the other teams liked their late round rookies after a full camp, that same situation works in Brown's potential battle with Brohm. If the Bills have a whole camp into Brown & he shows anything, they're not going to waive the guy. Some people think you can just put a late rounder on the practice squad. It's not that simple, you have to be willing to waive him 1st and if the Bills are as high on Brown as it appears they are, they're not waiving him. Now if comes to camp & shows nothing, then he's a wasted pick & will be waived anyway.
  11. No, you missed the point-by drafting Levi Brown, the Bills are saying that the one developmental QB job is open. That developmental job is held by Brohm. If they had drafted Clausen, it would have meant that they were looking to replace Edwards or Fitzpatrick. If it hasn't dawned on you that Brown is competing against Brohm & only Brohm, then there's no use trying to explain anything else to you. I'll just wait until Brown beats out Brohm & wait to see your post that you don't understand how the Bills could have cut Brohm when you saw him play so well at Louisville.
  12. He sucks! (even though they haven't made the pick yet.)
  13. So when the Bills cut him in September, will you be calling Nix & Gailey fools? You think you know, but you don't know. Jamarcus Russell was highly touted out of college & he's on his way out of the league. Stop thinking that Saturday translates to Sunday-it doesn't because over 90% of the guys they're putting up those college stats against will never play a down in the NFL.
  14. Wang is not starting. If he does, we're in HUGE trouble.
  15. Here's what you better brace yourself for: If we draft a QB in the next two rounds, your boy Brohm is going to get cut unless he really lights it up in camp. Brohm is nothing but a longshot the Bills took a flyer on, there's only room for 1 project at 3rd string & Brohm is going to be the odd man out unless the rookie bombs. Take off those Brohm blinders & look at it realistically-Edwards & Fitzpatrick have experience & the Bills are not about to name a project over both of these guys. The only way Brohm stays is if we get a veteran to replae Edwards & then Brohm stays on as the developmental guy. Big deal-you liked him in college-plenty of guys played well enough to have teams draft them in the top 5 based on their college careers & flamed out in the NFL. Brohm's days at Louisville are over & his days at Buffalo are near an end.
  16. Because they don't have to. Lynch & Campbell have been replaced already. Baltimore didn't trade for a pro-bowler or draft a LT in the 1st round. Oher can stay at RT & Gaither still starts.
  17. Because he's trying to drive up the puny price that another team would give the Bills for Lynch-there is no such agenda when talking about a player drafted by another team. Ask a salesman sometime about talking up the commodity you're trying to unload. In Lynch's case Buddy has a used car to sell that has been recalled once & has already gone out of control & ran over someone. Buddy's going to have to put on a lot of that Southern charm to unload this lemon.
  18. He's a locker room distraction & is one bad move away from a long suspension. More importantly-there's no place for him on the team, all he does if he's here is take some snaps away from Spiller/Jackson, gets 2 yards & then goes back to the bench & pouts. I'd trade him for anything I can get. Just remember: When we traded Travis Henry, it was for a pick in the draft after the season he was already gone. Nothing wrong with a 3rd or 4th next draft. If we end up with less, so be it. He's basically worthless to the Bills.
  19. He's going-just might not be today or tomorrow. Washington hasn't unloaded Campbell either.
  20. More likely the Bills wanted Tebow at their price (a 2nd rounder) and just weren't that concerned if someone else took him before them, because they have 8 more picks & don't plan on trading away any picks to move up. I get the same read from the Bills on the rest of the QBs left. If the guy is at the top of their board when they draft, and not before they draft, they'll take him, otherwise they'll draft the guy at the top of the board. Buddy Nix knows he won't turn this team around this draft & is drafting like a man who knows he has another draft next season to fill in the missing pieces. So, best player available is usually the best choice when you have a team with this many needs. You bring in your type of guys & jettison the underachievers that have helped create the losing mentality. Now you can't get rid of all the guys you want to in year 1, but you start by replacing the biggest losers. Looks like Marshawn Lynch is considered the biggest loser.
  21. The NY Giants do the same thing every year & nobody gets on their case when they put in the card almost immediately after going on the clock.
