one of you "WE GOTTA LOSE THIS WEEK!" people
Albany,n.y. replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is one of the best, if not the best, posts ever on this topic. Sums things up about as perfectly as possible. -
As I've stated before. Beating the Jets and feeling good about it is like the 5 year old who is delighted to beat daddy when daddy lets him win. As the kid gets older, if daddy can still beat him and continues to tank, eventually the kid, who becomes a teenager & then an adult gets very resentful. I'm getting tired of daddy Ralph thinking we fans should be happy when we win the final game against playoff teams like Indy last year & the Jets (?) this year who pull their players and play the B & C squads. PS: I'm glad I didn't get tickets to this Sunday's game. The Jets should refund half the ticket price. After spending last Sunday at the Ralph, thankfully, I won't be back until September. I need the time off to recover from watching that disgusting game vs NE.

The Bills had an excuse at the time-they wanted smaller quick guys to play inside as part of the Tampa 2 defense they were implementing. The Bills didn't want Ngata because he was too big. They determined that the free agent signing of Larry Triplett made more sense than drafting Ngata.

I working on a time machine that will get us Brady in the 2000 draft and will avoid all those busts from the 2000s and get every hidden gem. If I ever get that thing done, this post will be instantly changed to a new thread: "I can't believe some of you people, the Bills are going for their 10th straight Lombardi Trophy & all you do is whine because we lost two games this year."

Here's a better trade our roster & coaching staff straight up for NE's. This trade has as much of a chance of happening as Red's original trade proposal. Belichick can talk up Jackson all he wants, but if you got him in a room and offered the Jackson/Gronkowski deal he'd say yes if we threw in our #1 pick.

Tentative 2011 Opponents (Assuming there's a 2011 season)

I might go to the Oakland game if my nephew wants to go with his father and/or son & my sister has room for me. -
I want to see another quarterback competition next year
Albany,n.y. replied to PS 56's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You have nothing to prove that other than that it's your opinion. The Bills started Ferguson as a rookie & gave JP a year. I'm sure you can find cases the other way that also prove nothing. Maybe the best way to look at it is, every player is an individual and you let the coach make a judgement based on the camps & preseason. -
and we picked 13th, missing him by 2 picks all because we won 6 instead of 5. Tom Donahoe was on the phone trying to trade UP. Why, because we won 6 games in a meaningless season and Pittsburgh, who also won 6, picked ahead of us. Instead Donahoe picked Evans at 13 & then traded away the farm for JP Losman. How difficult is it for you to understand that meaningless games cost us impact players. At least that team didn't come down to the last game against a team that is tanking and had fans rooting for a TOTALLY MEANINGLESS game against the Jets B squad because they want to feel good Monday morning. The Bills winning next Sunday will be like a 5 year old feeling good because dad let him win. By the time he's a teenager, he's sick of being patronized, by the time he's an adult, if dad still can beat him & is letting him win, he hates his dad. Please stop being the fan equivalent of a 5 year old.

Let's see what he looks like next year with a Fitz beard.

Brohm was all set to come into the game on the Bills last possession & Spiller fumbled away the chance to see Brohm. Brohm had warmed up when the Patriots had the ball and was seconds away from entering the game.

You must not have dressed warm enough. I had my "sleeping bag coat" on, lined jeans, insulated boots and ski shop gloves & I never felt cold. Disgusted-yes, cold-no.

The Jets may tank next week. It could cost us a difference maker in the draft if we win. Anyone who wants to "feel good" next week & ends up happy that we won a game, that the other team tanked, and it cost us draft position, is foolish. Just think if we had Roethlisberger, Willis & one of last year's LTs instead Losman, Lynch & The Spiller of footballs, and if you can't understand why I'm rooting for the Jets B team next week, you don't know what it takes to improve a bad team. Draft position is more important than beating the Jets B team. Today was the worst time I ever had attending a Bills game. I felt like a prisoner at the Ralph because I couldn't leave early because I took a bus trip from Albany instead of driving. Even though the score was different, this game was even more agonizing than being at last season's Cleveland game. This game showed how little wins against bad teams means. The goal is to win a championship, not beat Detroit, Cleveland, Cincinnati & 1-7 at home Miami and be unable to beat any playoff team that tries. I hope all the people who put the franchise QB tag on Fitzpatrick, were gleefully celebrating our 4 wins and think we're on the way to the playoffs got a swift slap in the face watching this game. This team needs impact players & year in & year out we get none. I'm glad the home season is over, because quite frankly, traveling almost 600 miles round trip to watch performances like today, when we have to face a real Super Bowl contender, has sickened me & I don't think I could handle going to another game this season.

Here's Frank Coyle's top 10 mock draft, he uses current records for his order: 1 Carolina Andrew Luck QB Stanford 2 Denver Patrick Peterson CB LSU 3 Cincinnati D'Quan Bowers DE Clemson 4 Arizona Von Miller LB Texas A&M 5 Detroit Robert Quinn DE North Carolina 6 Buffalo Ryan Mallett QB Arkansas 7 San Fran Jake Locker QB Washington 8 Dallas Adrian Clayborn DE Iowa 9 Washington Nick Fairley DT Auburn 10 Houston Stephen Paea DT Oregon St

If you're worth $3 billion, you have plenty of time to recover the selling price.

It's a bus trip to the Ralph leaving at 5:15 AM for me. The final game of the season is guaranteed to be on in Albany. I'm having a group that will include some Jets fans come over for that one.

Lesley Frasier should put Favre on ice
Albany,n.y. replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL has a policy that Favre will have to pass baseline tests before he's cleared medically from a concussion. You make it sound like all he needs is a note from a friendly doctor to go back in there. That is not the case. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d8104d786/printable/nfl-continues-to-tackle-concussion-issue-headon -
Lesley Frasier should put Favre on ice
Albany,n.y. replied to NoSaint's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I Agree! It's ok for the Bills to try to win meaningless games, but it's not ok for the Vikings and a coach who does not have anywhere near the job security of Chan Gailey. No Saint's whole premise of getting the other QBs more time is flawed because he doesn't even know Jackson is on IR. If Jackson was available & able to play, he might have a better case. Webb will never be a starting QB in the NFL. Based on the see what you have in meaningless games attitude, Brohm should start the last 2 games. Thankfully, even the biggest Brohm supporters haven't said that, although we had to put up with their nonsense for about half the season until Fitzpatrick shut them up. -
I will be eating nothing but hot dogs in 2011

Parcells brought Sparano to Miami. Parcells is gone, could Tony be next? -
The big difference is Yao is a Chinese national, Ed Wang is an American whose parents are from China. He was born in Virginia. He's not one of them, he's one of US.

WHAM has the official Bills postgame show from 97 Rock. I liked it better when Dickerson was on WHAM because it provided a 3rd choice.

Recording Streaming video to DVD
Albany,n.y. replied to cmjoyce113's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Recently I tried to transfer a program from MSG Network that I recorded on a tape to a DVD. I hooked up the VCR to my VCR/DVD recorder. My DVD recorder gave me an error message because although I could tape it on the other VCR, I'm not allowed to record it on a DVD due to a copyright that the DVD program recognized. There was something on the tape before that program & the DVD recorded the few seconds before the program came on & then stopped as soon as that program started playing. -
Good Point. Lebron James not only avoided a state income tax, but a NYC income tax as well by going to a team in Florida. It's bad enough that the state has their hands out, but in NYC the city is dipping into their pockets as well. Then there's the traffic.
-
The NYC media & specifically the tabloids like the Post & Daily News are the worst. Every time an athlete or coach doesn't want to bring their skills to a NY team, they call them chickens & afraid to be in the NYC spotlight. The latest 2 incidents happened at the same time. Cliff Lee signed with the Phillies & the NYC media said he was too afraid to sign with the Yankees. Never mind the fact the Phillies are the favorites to win the World Series. Lebron James played the Knicks & the Post has him as a chicken on the back page of the paper. When the Knicks went after James, they looked a lot like the Cleveland Cavaliers when Lebron looked at his chances of winning a championship. When Bill Belichick spurned the Jets to join the Patriots, the NYC media dubbed him "Belichicken". Too afraid to coach the Jets. It really worked out poorly for Bill, didn't it? All these "chickens" had 1 thing in common. They didn't think the NYC team was in as good a position to win championships with over the team they signed with. Wanting to win a championship and possibly multiple championships as Belichick has done hardly makes one a chicken.

Official Shanahan Thread

Gibbs calling the 2nd timeout had no effect, since Lindell nailed the FG the 1st time he kicked it.
