  1. How many of you can remember when Ryan Fitzpatrick was a rookie 7th round pick who was forced into his 1st NFL game week 12 of the 2005 season? Was it a preview of the future? Unlike Bills QBs who embarrassed themselves when the Bills put them into their 1st NFL games, (remember Losman, Brohm and all the others who "just needed more time") Fitzpatick lit it up. Here is the link, followed by some highlights. http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/recap?gameId=251127034 HOUSTON (AP) -- Playing in an NFL game was new to St. Louis Rams rookie quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. Coming back from a 21-point deficit wasn't. It was over when ... Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Curtis in overtime to give the Rams a 33-27 win. Game ball goes to ... Third-string QB Fitzpatrick, who came off the bench to see the first NFL action of his career and helped lead the Rams' comeback, going 19-of-30 for 310 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning toss in OT. ESPN's take ... The Rams stole a game today and it was amazing to watch the rookie get in there and do his thing. Receivers Torry Holt and Isaac Bruce put in work and made his day a lot easier, but they couldn't have done it without him. My hat's off to the Rams, because they easily could have let up and lost this game to the Texans but they refused to lose. The Texans shouldn't have lost this game, though. They have to learn to come through in the clutch. -- Eric Allen The Rams' third-stringer took over for injured backup Jamie Martin on Sunday and then threw a 56-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Curtis in overtime to cap an improbable comeback and give the Rams a 33-27 win over the Houston Texans. The seventh-round pick from Harvard stayed calm by thinking back to his freshman year and first college start when he rallied the Crimson from a 21-0 halftime deficit for a 31-21 win over Dartmouth. At the time it was the biggest comeback in Harvard's 128-year history. "I was actually thinking about that game," Fitzpatrick said. "The biggest thing when you're in those situations is you need to get everyone around you fired up." "I knew there was no way we were going to lose that game," Fitzpatrick said. "You sort of get that feeling out there, of invincibility, with the way the offense was playing late and the way the defense really stepped up." The Rams recovered from a horrible first half, with just 117 yards and six first downs, to gain 312 yards and 16 first downs in the second half. Fitzpatrick proved an able replacement after backup Martin left late in the first quarter with a blow to the head. He was 19-of-30 for 310 yards and three touchdowns in three quarters, despite being sacked five times. Fitzpatrick's performance is even more impressive considering that the Rams played the entire second half without Pro Bowl left tackle Orlando Pace, who left the game in the second quarter with a hamstring injury. "It was a great win playing a rookie secondary, a rookie quarterback and a makeshift offensive line," interim coach Joe Vitt said. "It wasn't pretty, but we got it done."
  2. He's watching the Bills practice with the spycam he put in the last time he was in Orchard Park. I can't answer your question, but Belichick will be game planning based on what he sees the Bills doing in practice this week.
  3. I checked his area with the binoculars a few times during the game and I didn't see Elvis at the game on Sunday. The chefs were there, but no Elvis. Has Elvis left the building?
  4. I shave every day knowing that's what Fitzpatrick will be doing the day after he wins the Super Bowl.
  5. If Albert Haynesworth is as good at kicking a football as he is other people's faces, they're all set.
  6. Joel Murray also played Petey, the guy waiting with Alan at the DMV in Season 4 Episode 22: http://sharetv.org/shows/two_and_a_half_men/episodes/394464
  7. There goes the contract extension.
  8. NONE. He's in Korea (hopefully South & not North) getting stem cells-that means he's not ready to play yet. http://m.yahoo.com/w/sports/home/blogs/article?offset=2&urn=urn%3Anewsml%3Asports.yahoo%2Cyhoo%3A20050301%3Anfl%2Carticle%2Cyhoo-ept_sports_nfl_experts-wp7544%3A1&.ts=1316538953&.ysid=iSx5_EL2K9__iWHDr4B2klOE&.intl=US&.lang=en Martin needs every snap he can get. He just wasn't ready on Sunday. The only way we can tell if he's any good is to put him in the starting lineup.
  9. The last time the fans stormed the field was in 1991 after a playoff win. Fans came on the field with knives & cut part of the field out since the team was replacing the turf for the 1991 season. Unfortunately, they still had the AFC Championship game to play & the team had to patch the turf. After that incident, the team has made sure that the fans don't go on the field and enough intelligent fans know that. Now only the real crazies try and it's not pretty the abuse they get by security. I was there for the 1980 Miami game-it was a totally different era in stadium security. If you want a billy club upside your head, feel free to go on the field Sunday.
  10. I'm going to tape* it & watch it tomorrow. *-I know that is so 20th century, but just about every show I want to see is On Demand, so a DVR is basically a waste of time & money. Before I watch it, I'll check & make sure it isn't On Demand somewhere.
  11. Since they would be signing the lease with the county, anyone who is on the county's side would be doing their due dilligence to protect the county's interest. Therefore, the escape clause should be written that the new stadium has to be built in Erie County. There are enough options in Erie County from downtown to Lancaster. NFW to Southern Ontario-The Bills are America's team, not Canada's!
  12. Did anyone notice how cocky the Raiders were acting coming off the field at the end of the 1st half? Some were raising their hands to the crowd imploring the Raider fans to cheer them as if it was a home game. I think some of them thought the game was over.
  13. Last season bought him more time than 2 weeks. Most likely he lasts the season. If there's total turmoil, the earliest he would go would be their bye week, but they'd have to be 0-5.
  14. At halftime, they all drank tiger blood.
  15. Week 3-Leaning towards San Diego over KC in SD where the Chargers won 31-0 last year & 43-14 in 2009. SDS talked me out of taking NE over the Bills.
  16. I didn't see many Raider fans in my section (219). However, before the game when I was headed to my seats, I saw a bunch of Raider fans greeting another bunch with "It's a home game." I felt like telling them if it was a home game we'd be in their dump of a stadium-I've been there for A's games & the place needs to be torn down, along with certain parts of the City of Oakland. Parked off campus, no idea.
  17. Who won't be on the team next year? ANDREW LUCK
  18. Ticket says $55, but that doesn't include the season ticket discount.
  19. I think it's time for Pegula to make Ralph an offer he can't refuse after he finds some friends to put a horse's head in Ralph's bed.
  20. Here's an indication of the market on Ticket Exchange. Petrino sold his 2 seats next to me in the 1st row of the tunnel endzone near the corner for $115 each. I was surprised he got that much, but after the blowout in KC, the fans are pumped.
  21. Here's my sarcastic view of some parts of the article. "Buddy and Chan have done a fabulous job in identifying players that have been cut by other teams and working with them," Translation: We're finding players on the cheap, just the way I like it. Wilson said he calls Nix every morning. "I don't think we've missed one day of talking since he's been with us," Translation: Ralph is still meddling into what the GM is trying to do. "I'm in the game not to make money but because I love it, just like the fans in Buffalo, who are so passionate about the team. So right now, I'm having a lot of fun." Translation: BS, see quote #1.
  22. I like Groundhog Day & The Pelican Brief, but the greatest ending has to go to Body Heat. Of the more recent movies, I liked The Reader the best.
  23. It's a lot worse. Only 16 of 26 are on the active roster. He included Jasper (practice squad) L.Brown -gone & Easley (IR-has yet to play a real down) That's 61.5% Even worse, there are only 4 starters of those 26, a measly 15.4%. That includes none from last year. Worse, if you don't include this draft, since most picks stick at least through their rookie year, the past 2 year only 8 of 17 picks are on the roster 47.1%. How many teams have already cut their 2009 top pick? The bottom line is that the Bills have been among the worst drafting teams in the league. So far, Buddy Nix's 1st draft wasn't much better, yielding no starters. Until the Bills start drafting better, they'll be no better than mediocre. Wang is waived injured. As soon as he's healthy enough to play, he's off the team. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_does_it_mean_when_a_NFL_player_is_waived_injured
  24. This just shows the stupidity of all those involved. When you're at a game, you stand for the anthem, if not you're just being a fool. At his age McKelvey should know better. As a Marine, doesn't the guy understand that what he is defending includes McKelvey's freedom not to stand during the national anthem without being threatened? He has no right to demand anything from another citizen whose rights he has chosen to defend. How stupid is McKelvey? He brings a stun gun into the stadium & then creates an incident where he might want to use it. After the anthem dispute, anyone with a brain would have just exited out the other side of the row and not thrown gasoline on the fire. What did he think was going to happen when he used the stun gun other than getting himself arrested?
  25. In 1985, when I was living downstate, I went to Philadelphia to see the Bills play the Eagles in week 7, one week after the Bills had their 1st win of the 1985 season. The Bills were up 17-0 through 3 quarters but when the 4th quarter began, the Eagles were deep in Bills territory. They scored a TD early into the 4th quarter, then added 2 more TDs. After leading 17-0, the Bills let the Eagles score 21 unanswered 4th quarter points and lost 21-17. Earlier in the 1985 season I went to the 2nd game of the season at the Meadowlands. The Bills went up 3-0 on a Norwood FG and were ahead 3-0 at the end of the 1st quarter. That was it for the Bills. The Jets scored 42 unanswered points. Final score Jets 42 Bills 3. The next week (week 3) I went to Orchard Park to see the Bills vs New England, The turning point of the game was when the Bills got a penalty when punting, re-punted and Irving Fryar returned that one for a TD. The Bills ended up losing 17-14. So I saw 3 bad losses in 1985. 1985 was a real low point for me and other Bills fans.
