  1. I've been telling people for years that QB stats are worthless. Thanks for proving my point.
  2. If we're losing on opening day, the Luck threads will begin in the middle of the 3rd quarter.
  3. It's a Mercedes c300 sport sedan. I haven't rotated tires in the past, so I might just skip rotation.
  4. Someone mentioned Chris Farley. It's a quote from the movie Tommy Boy.
  5. I looked at my new car's tires & noticed the front and rear tires are different sizes. Here's what the manufacturer's website says regarding tires and wheels: Staggered-width wheels and tires Staggered-width alloy wheels and tires are wider at the rear for greater launch grip, and narrower up front for crisper steering feedback. Standard on the Sport Sedan are 7.5 x 17 front/8.5 x 17 rear 5-spoke wheels fitted with 225/45R17 front and 245/40R17 rear all-season tires. How do I rotate the tires? I'm leaning towards no rotation since all I would be doing is rotating the right side to the left & vice versa.
  6. If that's true how do you explain the 18 year old actors who go to college & take classes that have nothing to do with their acting careers? He's not passing up anything, he's deferring it by one year. If he ends up making $155 million in his NFL career instead of $160 million does it really matter?
  7. He's going to have a lot of money in 2012. I don't think the NCAA can stop him from taking out an insurance policy that protects him for life financially, and if he wants a new car or anything else they can't stop his father from giving it to him. If his father gets him a $50,000 car, he can always pay him back in 2012. It's a totally different situation than a kid who comes from a poor family. I'm sure Peyton & Eli didn't have any problem staying in school because they had no worries about losing millions-they were set for life during their senior years because daddy could afford the insurance. Luck is in the same boat as the Mannings were. It's only foolish if he's risking never having millions. He's not.
  8. There's an antidote to 1/15. Say the labor agreement gets done in June. Luck signs with an agent, is declared ineligible & enters the supplemental draft where Carolina has drafted #1 & now gets Luck too. It's not likely to happen that way, but it can be done.
  9. How many of those unsuccessful college coaches played in the NFL for 15 years? With his family history with a successful coach for a father, a brother with NFL success, combined with his NFL playing experience & college coaching resume, there can't possibly be a hotter coaching prospect than Harbaugh. Since he can write his own ticket, he should choose a franchise where he has a good chance at success. Miami appears to be the worst of the possible job openings because they will not have a QB in the near future. Henne has become Miami's version of Trent Edwards, a bargain pick (they could have chosen Matt Ryan but didn't and tried to get their QB in the 2nd round) who has set the franchise back years as a result of his lack of talent.
  10. Did you have the same opinion about Peyton Manning in 1997 when the Jets wanted him at #1 & he stayed in college? His competitive nature must have been questioned & he dropped in the 1998 draft to ....#1. Maybe he's so competitive that he'd rather take the sure thing & play than have his rookie year be a guessing game as to whether a lockout would keep him from playing. He might just feel like playing rather than sitting out 2011. Really smart QBs can understand that an extra year in college can't hurt them when their families have money and that the most successful QBs spent more time playing college ball, not less. By the 2012 season, Luck will have his degree and be ready to enter the April 2012 draft.
  11. If you really believe in a player, you don't gamble that he'll still be there and trade down, because unless you're projecting him an entire round down, that is way too dangerous. Also, trading down is a lot tougher to do with a top 5 pick. Moving down from 3 to 15, or somewhere in between is good if you don't have a specific player in mind and the other team does. In 2001, the Bills wanted a LT and there was McKinnie who made a lot more sense than Mike Williams available at #4. Never pick a guy with a history of weight problems that high, it's a gamble that is just too high risk, low reward. Even though McKinnie isn't great, he's been with the Vikings 10 years now and is way better than any tackle the bills have. So, if you think Gabbert is a franchise QB, you take him at 3, if you don't, you pass on him entirely and don't trade down because if he's either good enough at 3 or not worth it at 15. Any 1st round QB who doesn't pan out sets the franchise back a minimum of 3 years.
  12. I always thought the reason Mularkey quit was that he thought Marv was bringing him back so that Marv could fire him in the middle of the next season & name himself coach. Marv only hired Jauron after Ralph was adamant that Marv had to find a coach other than himself after Mularkey quit.
  13. Old Al saw one of those Direct TV ads and that convinced him to drop Cable.
  14. Poor group of receivers? When Evans comes back, with the further development of the 2010 rookie WRs, including Easley, the Bills one bright spot is at WR.
  15. There are plenty of guys who get waived out of the league who NEVER get to start 2 games, or even 1, or EVER get any playing time. So why don't we bring in all the rejects & give them two starts and then keep the best one on the roster? This we have to see more garbage from the Brohm hanger ons is getting old. He sucked last year, he sucked in camp, he sucked this year. When will it sink in to the Brohm boys that he has NEVER led his team in any playing time to a TD? Even Levi Brown has done that in a lot less time. Those impossible conditions you speak about will always be there-any time Brohm has to face an NFL caliber defense in a regular season game, he will always face impossible conditions. It's time for Brohm to go back home & get a high school coaching job & get on with his life. Who knows, maybe in 5-10 years he can actually have a decent career as a coach, because he surely doesn't have a future as an NFL QB. He doesn't need one more second of time, he needs to get on with his life & start a productive career in coaching, or whatever field he's best suited for. I wish him luck in his next career, but as a ticket buying fan the only time I ever want to see him on an NFL field again is in an opponent's uniform, because with Brohm at QB, the opponent is always in good shape. What are you talking about? Fitzpatrick was the QB in 5 of the 6 2009 wins. Perry Fewell & his teammates loved the guy, but you were in your Brohm haze & missed 2009. As far as Brohm goes, it's way too LATE for the guy. If he's on the roster next year, it would mean the Bills have no NFL caliber backups behind Fitzpatrick. There's no rational reason for Brohm to get one more dollar of Ralph Wilson's money.
  16. Well another group is now claiming they know when the world is ending-May 21,2011. The guy making the prediction is 89, so if he dies that day, does that mean he was right, in his own way? I just hope they get to run the Preakness that day before it all ends. Considering the fact he's on the west coast, with the time difference, I think my odds are pretty good they'll run the race. Odds are pretty good there will be another Preakness in 2012 too, although the Mayans are saying no to Preakness 2013. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/40885541/ns/us_news-life/
  17. Yes, but that was when it looked like we had the #1 pick. At 3, if Luck enters, he is long gone. The bills will not take a QB among those left with pick 3 just to draft a QB.
  18. I took a lot of S##T from the Brohm boys the past year + just because I was able to see enough in the 2009 Atlanta & preseason games, combined with the actions of the NFL GMs, to write the guy off. Instead of looking at the guy realistically all the Brohm boys could do was call me a hater & a lot worse when all I was was a better judge of his talent than they were. QBs are cut all the time without ever getting an NFL start, but the Brohm boys just made excuse after excuse for the guy. They misjudged his arm strength, his pocket awareness and his overall adjustment to the speed of the NFL. The most ridiculous of the bunch actually wanted to cut Fitzpatrick & annoint Brohm the starter last offseason, all because he looked good when they saw him in college. Today showed more than anything I could tell them, that Brohm could not handle the difference in the game from college to the pros. Now anyone who watched the game can see what was obvious to those of us labeled as haters by the Brohm fans. If they had just been rational, I would have let it go, but when they resorted to the insults & name calling all because I was the better judge of his talent, it reached the point of where the only way they'd get it was to see a game like today. I'm glad Fitz didn't play, not so much to prove me right, but to finally just shut up the ones who couldn't handle the truth.
  19. His 17.9 QB rating is better than 17.8.
  20. Thanks Bill. By the way, did you or anyone else see Maybin out there today? I had 3 guys over & I wasn't paying that much attention to fringe players & I seemed to have missed him entirely, if he played.
  21. I was calling Brohm Marangi during the game & Petrino asked me why I was insulting Marangi by comparing him to Brohm.
  22. I expect the 2nd coming of Gary Marangi, a new 2nd string QB next year and pick 3 or 4 in the draft. BROHM
  23. Guy must be John Guy. Even though we fired him he's still a big Bills fan & can't help but give us the best QB in his mock. I'm glad to see he hold no grudge for his firing. Or maybe he's just being john Guy and is showing how little he actually knows.
  24. Actually, the Bills could never have drafted Okung because going into the Colts game as long as Seattle lost, we weren't catching them with a loss. The result of a win couldn't cost the Bills more than 1 spot because I remember rooting for them at the Indy game because I had already done the math. The best a loss would have done would have put them at 8, not 6 and both LTs would already be gone by then. However, there have been many years during this decade + of futility that we've lost out on a player we were extremely interested in taking by winning 1 more meaningless game. With our current record and the records of other top 10 potential draft teams, this year, unlike last year, is a definite root for the loss final game.
