Meanwhile over at Russel Street Report (Ravens Fan Forum)
Albany,n.y. replied to BCAS Baritone's topic in The Stadium Wall
Many of them were old Baltimore Colts fans who had their team ripped from them over a decade earlier & were starving for NFL football. They are hardly fake fans. -
Meanwhile over at Russel Street Report (Ravens Fan Forum)

CJ is knocking on the door & will be let in the room long before Lamar. -
I can see/hear it now. Announcer: Bill, it's 4th down. Bill (in monotone): It's on to the field goal. Announcer: Bill, would you go for it here? Bill (in monotone): It's on to the field goal.

Hamlin officially wins PFWA Comeback Player of the Year
Albany,n.y. replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Baker Mayfield deserved it but since it would have been a PR nightmare not selecting Damar Hamlin, they gave the real comeback player of the year "Most Improved" even though it was more a comeback to where he was in 2020 than an improvement. He returned to a level from 3 seasons ago & started all the games, just like 2020. -
Two reasons: 1) Too many injuries 2) Andy Reid & Patrick Mahomes

Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”

They do, but he's a TE. He's back this week & should be the difference on Sunday. -
Mix and match Allen/Mahomes and Reid/McDermott
Albany,n.y. replied to Lifefan1's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think of a different scenario. Instead of trading the pick, the Bills draft Mahomes. The next year Arizona drafts Josh Allen & they are not in the same conference. With the subtraction of Mahomes in KC and in Buffalo instead, and Allen in the NFC, plus the additional draft choices the Bills would have had in the 2018 draft, do the Bills have one or more Lombardis? Does Allen get Arizona to any Super Bowls? Every time KC knocks us out, I feel like we created the monster in KC with the 2017 trade. -
I did that once. I had a class that was too early in the morning for me to wake up for. I went to maybe 2 or 3 classes the whole semester. The day before the final I hadn't read any of the material (est at least 1,500 pages in the books) so I went to the library to read some of the books & quickly realized I was in big trouble. Fortunately, I saw a girl who was in the class & begged her to copy her notebook. It turned out she had great notes! I photocopied the notebook (lots of dimes to put into the copier) thanked her, gave her back her notebook, read the notes for about an hour. Took the final the next day & got a B or B+ on the exam.

Years ago the Bills tried a halfback pass on 4th down & failed. Some caller called WGR when Chuck "The Coach" Dickerson was doing the postgame show and called the play "4th and stupid" The faked punt was "4th and stupid II"

Game Thread: Tampa Bay at Detroit - 3 PM NBC
Albany,n.y. replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tampa is nuts if they give Baker a big $ long term contract. -
Another good reason that watching players on the field instead of looking at stats is the proper way to evaluate QBs. There are certain players who look a lot better on paper than on the field. My #1 paper tiger is Kirk Cousins. Looks great on paper & many fall for his stats but comes up small on the field in clutch moments. I said this many times, but I'll repeat it here: There's a reason players and coaches study videos for hours instead of just having a short meeting, have the coaches hand out stat sheets & announce "Go get 'em boys"

Remember the 1990s when every one of our Super Bowls we lost to a team from the best division in football? Playing good teams strengthens a team, not weakens a team. When the Bills destroyed the Raiders in January 1991 we all though that we'd cruise vs the Giants, but we forgot the gauntlet the NFL East and the NFC was. I prefer a team that has been winning against the best vs cruising against bums. The AFC has all the class teams. Think of it as a QB driven league. I'll take Allen, Mahomes, or Jackson over Purdy, Goff, or Mayfield evey day and hour of the week.

The AFC will dominate in the Super Bowl. This is our big chance, the NFC has nothing.

Update: Kadarius Toney out. Omenihu and Gay to play..
Albany,n.y. replied to Sierra Foothills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Mahomes probably cheered when he heard no Toney to run bad routes and drop his passes. -
KC management gets a box or 2. She's been with Mahomes' wife at the games. The Bills aren't the ones giving her a box. If she had to, she could buy into a box making an offer nobody could refuse. Imagine getting offered a payment of your entire season for 1 day use of your luxury box. You can even negotiate a few seats behind her.

It was a joke (see Billdoe thread). Lighten up Francis.

Get those Billdoes ready to throw against the glass in the box she's in.

I don't root for other teams to win or lose based on the Bills possibly losing a game the next day. The only time I would do that would be if the Bills had 2 wins going into the season finale & I was rooting for the other team with 2 wins to win the day before. The good news is I doubt I'll ever see a 2 win Bills team again.

When I went to the Bills Raiders cold playoff game back in the early 90s, I brought a garbage bag full newspapers & put my feet in them the whole game (yes I was wearing insulated boots on my feet). Now it looks like SI is about to go under: Sports Illustrated Thrown Into Chaos With Mass Layoffs - The New York Times (nytimes.com)

I usually don't post while I'm watching the game. Sometimes I might get online at halftime if something worth talking about happened in the 1st half. I'll usually get back on the computer after the game so I can watch & listen to postgame coverage.

Unfortunately, coach of the year usually goes to someone who had a winning record with a team the pundits thought would suck. Many times it's because of an easy schedule resulting from the prior year's failure. A lot of time this year's coach of the year is next year's bum. I still can't believe that Daboll got it for 2022 over Shanahan, who won with a rookie Mr Irrelevant, going from 3rd in 2021 to 13 wins & the division in 2022. .

It wasn't a personal attack, I was trying to help you stop embarrassing yourself, but you won't listen. Please stop with the ridiculous Pro Bowl nonsense. Nobody took Huntley's Pro Bowl appearance last year as a serious indication of his ability as one of the best QBs in the league. He was a replacement when others dropped out. The Pro Bowl selection is considered a joke with all the dropouts. Without Lamar there is no way Baltimore wins 13 games & is the #1 seed. Just making the playoffs vs #1 seed is a big difference. Purdy isn't going to be MVP & you're right that he could be replaced, but Purdy & SF has nothing to do with Lamar & the Ravens. You might not think Lamar is MVP, but you know who does? The voters.

Pro Bowl 🤪 They lost 3 of their last 4 games with Jackson out & the one playoff game. 1-4 last 5 without Jackson. Give it up, you're embarrassing yourself.
