  1. Ask the posters who are dead set against drafting a RB early. Unfortunately, Beane has let the best RBs go by in the draft because he has the same philosophy. Meanwhile the top teams in the league have a running game that makes them multidimensional while all Josh has is Diggs, no RB he can count on & bunch of #3 or #4 WRs trying to fill the #2 &#3 WR spots.
  2. That year he spent in Carolina was the clincher for Beane & McDermott.
  3. My guess he's the writer from Boston who claimed that Jake Fromm would be the Bills starter over Josh by midseason. I imagine after that take he's fallen on hard times & the only place that will even take his opinions on the NFL are call in talk shows.
  4. The kid was totally lost out there. Three steps & a throw with the way he was performing would be inviting interceptions. I repeat-he was totally lost out there & Daboll knew that. Daboll was in a no win situation. They have one of the league's best backups in Tyrod. Most teams are dead meat if they have to go to their 3rd QB, especially a rookie on the practice squad. When the game went to OT the Giants only hope was Saquon would break a long run. By that point any decision he made was most likely to fail.
  5. I was at the game. I could see every snap to him. Devito looked lost out there-no pocket awareness at all-much more likely to get sacked or make a mistake when pressured. That's why Daboll was afraid to let him pass the ball,. He looked good in preseason playing against 3rd stringers. He looked bad against the Jets 1st teamers-huge difference.
  6. Wrong! If you're up 3 all the Jets need is a FG to tie. If you're up 6 the Jets need a TD & play entirely different. No team sits on a 3 point lead in the last minute with the ability to go up by 6. We'll maybe Staley goes for it on 4th, but no coach in his right mind does.
  7. There was a lot of talking up Fields before the season started. I even saw some MVP chatter-I remember it because I thought the writer was insane.
  8. I didn't bet the game but I had a lot more punishment-I went to the game. It rained all game, I got soaked and the game was too close to leave and then they tortured us with overtime. 2 of the worst QBing I've seen and I've seen Gary Marangi's Bills days & the Nathan Peterman's LA Chargers game. I had to take a hot shower after the game and get into some dry clothes-it's a good thing I'm staying in NJ and didn't have to drive back to Albany. I had a rain pancho and a vinyl exterior coat & that didn't help.
  9. I watched it on Twitch & the feed was perfect.
  10. Fitz went to the Pinto tailgate & did a bowling ball shot on the pregame show.
  11. What's wrong with the 49ers? I don't know if SF is going to make the playoffs. Should Shanahan be fired?
  12. He is stuck until after his 3rd season. Can't be extended this summer.
  13. He would if he didn't know the camera was on him. Remember who drafted him & where he spent his rookie year.
  14. That's how they tried to spin it on the broadcast, but I'm not buying it.
  15. O'Connell & Hockenson looking at fines after the coach told him to fake an injury.
  16. 1) He wasn't going to stay there when other teams were interest, hence GB giving up a #1 for him. 2) Glanville only lasted 3 years in Atlanta. If he had stayed at worst he would have been the starter in 1994 & at best management would have told Glanville to play Favre after Miller got injured in both 1992 & 1993. If Glanville refused he might have been fired as early as 1992.
  17. The QB history of a college's QBs can be really bad-UNTIL IT ISN'T. Example: What QB from Wyoming ever achieved stardom in the NFL before the 2018 draft? There's a long list of Ohio State QB failures in the NFL, but it looks like the best QB from the 2023 draft came from Ohio State. If Carolina used the past history of Ohio State QBs to decide to pass on Stroud, it was a pretty poor decision. The past failures of other players from a university is irrelevant when scouting a player. Same is true the other way. Stanford had produced some pretty good QBs over the years (Elway, Plunkett, Brodie) before Trent Edwards was drafted, but when Trent Edwards was with the Bills, the legacy of Stanford QBs didn't mean anything.
  18. Brett Favre was a 2nd round rookie who barely played behind a veteran starter who made the Pro Bowl that year & then was traded for a 1st round pick a year later. That does not fit the definition of mostly a bust. If so why was a team willing to trade a 1st rounder for a 2nd round pick from the year before? A bust would be Brian Brohm, a 2nd round pick waived after preseason his 2nd season & not claimed after going on waivers & allowed to go on the team's practice squad, or Christian Hackenberg who in 2 seasons was never allowed to play a down & was sent away after those 2 years & failed everywhere he went including spring minor league football.
  19. Why? Because some clown in the media made up a story that cannot possibly be true based on the NFL's rules?
  20. Here's my football experience: when I was a teenager I was tossing a football to myself in my room, went for a diving catch and my knee (unhurt) put a hole in the wall. It took a few days but my mother found the hole after I put scotch tape over it trying to hide it. I don't remember what excuse I used, but I remember getting yelled at.
