  1. I doubt you could get a knife in the stadium these days with the metal detectors.
  2. The game in the video was the final straw for the Bills letting fans go on the field. They could take tearing down the goalposts but some "fans" took knives out & cut out parts of the turf (which was scheduled to be replaced in the offseason). For the 1st playoff game 2 weeks later there were patches of new turf where they had to replace the stolen pieces of turf. Whoever cut up the turf ruined it for all fans to ever get on the field again to celebrate. I've been to all 3 games above but only went on the field in 1980 and the only reason I even went on the field that day was the guy I went to the game with was a photo buff & he wanted to go on the field & take pictures of the mayhem.
  3. I have 2 entries. I took Seattle and LA Chargers
  4. My Advice to Daboll: Smoke them if you've got him.
  5. It's fine for a punter to be the holder when you know the punter (unless he's injured) is going to be there all year. When you're trying out new punters at the beginning of the week the season starts, you might not want to have the punter holding kicks. Last year the Bills had 3 different punters/holders & Haushka started to miss kicks he's made his whole career. I don't care who is holding, but I'd prefer 1 holder for the entire season & unless his game gets better, Bojorquez is going to be off the team by October at the latest. I still believe unless he has a great game he's gone by next Tuesday. Kidd was a fixture for years, it made perfect sense for him to hold & when Mohr had a lock on the punter's job he made a lot of sense too. In 1990 the Bills punting job was in flux. They started the season with John Nies & brought back Tuten, who they had cut after preseason, after the season's 1st two games and relegated Nies to kickoffs before cutting him after 4 games. That season it made more sense for someone other than the punter to hold, just like this season where Bojorquez is on a John Nies path.
  6. When Ryan Leaf is bagging on you, you've sunk to a new low.
  7. Youse is an acceptable spelling: https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Youse Youse Second Person Plural. A grammatical necessity which is sadly lacking in the English Language. Don't you know it's Lawnguyland? 1 word.
  8. I give him until next Monday or Tuesday when they can sign a veteran punter and not have to guarantee his salary for the whole season.
  9. Since Borjoquez is on very thin ice, we could have another season of musical chairs at the P position. Why keep switching holders when the backup QB can provide stability there? Years ago the backup QBs were the holders. Frank Reich did it for years. Doesn't it make more sense for the holder to be someone with a secure roster spot that the kicking unit can get used to having around?
  10. I grew up on Long Island and met many people from Brooklyn who spoke that way. In fact I had 2 bosses in my teens who used the word youse whenever they addressed people. One summer I had a boss who used to tell us "This is what youse gotta do, youse gotta take out the gabbage"
  11. He's coming back for week 2. That's what the holdup is for.
  12. Bojorquez-he fumbles a snap deep in Bills territory, runs for his life & goes all the way from endzone to endzone. The next day he gets cut, a new punter comes in and Borjorquez is asked that when a practice squad spot opens if he's amenable to trying a position switch to RB.
  13. They're probably going to cut him & put him on the practice squad when he comes off the suspension. Nobody is going to claim him & if they do it's no great loss.
  14. Pronunciation Guide: Bojorquez-Soon to be on waivers I think he's on double secret probation. Unless he has a great game against the Jets the Bills are going to sign a veteran P whose salary doesn't have to be guaranteed after week 1. Personally I hope he never has to punt this week & all the Bills kicks are extra points & kickoffs.
  15. 2 more years & Josh is a billionaire.
  16. I'm pretty sure they have Super Bowl bets since I was able to get a future on the Bills making the playoffs, but I never looked for the Super Bowl. If you're there it's easier using the kiosks, they have someone there to help you. Their phone # is on my tickets, if you have any questions you can call them at 518-579-8800, but don't be shocked if they don't know the answer. I went to the window 1st, the teller didn't know about futures, then her supervisor told me to check the kiosk, the kiosk guide knew where to get to the futures & I bet it there. Also since the odds for the Bills are around 80/1 to 100/1 from what I've seen online, if you're betting enough to bring the potential winnings to over $10,000 I'd advise breaking them into smaller tickets since on the back of my tickets it says you need ID if the payment is over $10,000. In the words of Stillwell from the movie A League of Their Own "You're gonna lose"
  17. They're only 7.5-1 to win the division per what I found on the internet, a little less than half that to at least get a wild card is reasonable. I wrote 3.5 when it's really 3.25-1. I expect a 10 win season & playoffs, my break even point is 2 wins fewer than my expectations: NFL - AFC DIVISIONS - TO WIN - SEP 10 AFC EAST DIVISION - TO WIN Wager cut off: 2019 10th September 3:00 PM ROT TEAM ODDS 10201 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS -475 10202 NEW YORK JETS +525 10203 BUFFALO BILLS +750 10204 MIAMI DOLPHINS +5000
  18. Think of them as dollars. Say I bet $10 per unit, bet 1 would be $40 to get back $60, Bet 2 would be $40 to get back $80, Bet 3 would be $40 to get back $120, Bet 4 would be $20 to get back $85. Total bet $140, total returns: at 6 or fewer wins, pays 0 lose $140, at 7 wins pays $60 lose $80; at 8 wins break even pays $140; at 9 wins pays $260, profit of $120; win 9 or more and make playoffs pays $345, profit of $205.
  19. I went to Rivers Casino in Schenectady today. I bet a total of 14 units spread out over 4 scenarios: Bet 4 units on Over 6.5 wins. This is the lowest odds of bet 2 units to win another unit (Odds 1/2). Pays 6 units Bet 4 units on Over 7.5 wins. Even money bet 1 unit to win another unit (Odds 1/1). Pays 8 units Bet 4 units on Over 8.5 wins. Bet 1 unit to win another 2 units (Odds 2/1). Pays 12 units Bet 2 units on Bills making the playoffs. Bet 1 unit to win another 3.25 units. Pays 8.5 units. EDIT: The original said 3.5 when it should be 3.25 Basically, the break even point is 8 wins & no playoffs. 9 wins produces a 12 unit profit & 9 or more wins & the playoffs produces a 20.5 unit profit.
  20. As others have said, players & coaches don't tank, but management does. When management puts together a really bad roster the guys on the field & on the sidelines can try as hard as they want and they'll still get their butts kicked all season. The sport that tanking has worked best at recently is baseball. Teams like the Astros & Cubs stripped the major league talent down to nothing, lost over 100 games & a few years later were World Champions. Nobody ever accused a player or manager of tanking but they all knew they were in for a long season when they looked around and didn't see much talent in the locker room.
  21. Home. If the game isn't on TV in Albany then I go to OTB's Clubhouse Race Book. There I get my own booth with a TV where I can listen to the sound instead of being at some sports bar where you can't hear what the announcers are saying. I still like going to games although I'm down to about 1 a season in Orchard Park and a road game. This year I get to go to the 1st 2 games of the season because Met Life is the closest stadium to Albany.
  22. I never want to see Matt Darr on a list of possible pickups ever again. He's the worst punter the Bills have had this century.
  23. He was quite the star on his high school team in real life. Here's his wiki page: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ed_O'Neill O'Neill was born into an Irish-American Catholic family in Youngstown, Ohio.[4][5] His mother, Ruth Ann (née Quinlan), was a homemaker and social worker, and his father, Edward Phillip O'Neill, was a steel mill worker and truck driver.[6] O'Neill attended Ursuline High School before transferring to Worthington High School and winning a state championship, earning the name Ed O'Winner and winning a football scholarship to Ohio University, where he majored in history, also joining the Mu chapter of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity.[7] O'Neill left Ohio after his sophomore year; he spent more time playing sports and partying than studying[7] and also feuded with his coach. He transferred to Youngstown State University, where he was a defensive lineman. While an undergraduate, O'Neill pledged Delta Sigma Phi and was initiated into the Delta Sigma chapter there. Rumors abound that he was an avid partier.[6] O'Neill was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1969 but was cut in training camp.[5][6][8] Later, on Married... with Children, O'Neill played a former high-school football star who had failed to make it big and constantly reminisced about his "glory days" at Polk High ("I once scored four touchdowns in a single game"). As part of this theme, former Pittsburgh Steelers great and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw also made two guest appearances on the show. O'Neill was also a substitute social studies teacher at Ursuline High School before becoming an actor.[6]
  24. Here's the upside: Every one of them will always have the memory of having tried something that was their dream. The smart ones will always cherish the moments when they can always say they tried to be a professional football player. Some will use that to get a foot in the door at lucrative careers. One of the most successful cuts in an NFL camp is actor Ed O'Neil who went on to star in Married With Children & Modern Family.
  25. They really just took a low risk flyer on him. They took their original 2nd rounder, packaged it & traded it down & got a 2020 2nd rounder and then sent the lower 2nd round pick to Arizona. Very low risk considering their original 2nd helped get them an additional 2nd in the next draft.
