  1. The show Arli$$ did a parody episode of the XFL in the season 5 episode (made in 2000) "When Opportunity Knocks" where Kirby became the GM of the L.A. Carnivors in a new spring football league called the Ultimate Football League (UFL) run by a Vince McMahon type charcter named Danny Richter played by Joe Piscopo. Richter tells Arliss that the thing football fans want most are "Big T*ts & Big Hits". He brings two cheerleaders & two players with him to Arliss & the girls shake their boobs while one of the players puts a hard hit on the other guy. Doug Flutie played himself as a client of Arliss & Arliss tries to negotiate a 4 year $91 million contact for him ($11 million signing bonus, 4 years $20 million) with Kirby. Arliss demands too much, like Flutie having veto power on who his head coach is and Kirby says no to Flutie. When Kirby finds out that Piscopo's plans don't include caring about winning & the makeup of the football team he starts to get discouraged. The final straw for Kirby is when Danny Richter shows him his seat at the game. Richter tells Kirby that each fan will be given a remote & if the team is playing lousy they can press the remote. When Richter presses his remote to demontstate, Kirby finds out his seat has a dunk tank under it that opens up when the remote is pressed. That's the final straw for Kirby & he quits & ends up going back to AMM to work for Arliss.
  2. Schopp is wrong as often as he is right but he's so arrogant if a correct fan tries to explain why he's wrong Schopp just acts like a jerk because he THINKS he's smarter than everyone when he's not. On some beliefs, where there are no right or wrong answers, like trading up or down, Schopp is adamant in his beliefs & everyone else is wrong, which is total BS-he thinks trading down is always better, yet Beane has traded up just about every one of his draft trades & I know Beane knows more than Schopp will ever know. Unlike some guys in the media who have gone on to GM jobs, if anyone ever suggested Schopp for a NFL GM job they'd be laughed out of town. I find myself on the other side almost all the time with Schopp. If he opened his mind once in a while to the other side of something theoretical & didn't act like a total jackass to the callers, maybe I could respectfully disagree with him, but for the most part due to his attitude, I disrespectfully disagree with him instead.
  3. They'll be 6 because one is basically a KR/PR and unless there are a lot of injuries doesn't figure as a WR on gameday, but will be active every week.
  4. Right now my gambling money is tied up on the Kentucky Derby. If I win big I'm driving down to NJ to bet the Bills. If I lose I won't be able to bet it for a while & if that's the case I'm hoping that they get sports betting in NY before the season starts & I can bet it about 20-25 miles away in Schenectady. My top 3 horses are Tacitus-Game Winner-Spinoff. I'm boxing them in exactas & trifectas. If Spinoff runs either 1st or 2nd, or 3rd if the other 2 run 1-2, I'll clean up since Spinoff will be around 30/1.
  5. He should let any fan who bought a Rosen jersey trade it in for a Murray Jersey at the Cardinals store.
  6. That's exactly what I was thinking of when I wrote that. Keim is singlehandedly making the Cardinals the NFL's laughingstock. Last year he hires a new head coach and drafts a new QB in the 1st round and this year he does the same exact thing. Isn't that the definition of insanity?
  7. The biggest steal in the NFL is Steve Keim taking money from the Cardinals. Every time he cashes a paycheck he's committing highway robbery. It's as if he went to Rex Ryan University and was valedictorian.
  8. Simple answer-binoculars. I sat in the upper deck for Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara and when I went out there for Thankgiving the prior November I tried out the upper deck & determined binoculars would be helpful. I brought binoculars to the November game & the Super Bowl the following February and was glad I did. As a rule, unless I know I won't need them, I always bring binoculars to a game.
  9. One of my friends e-mailed me the Simpsons picture. I replied saying that it was a tribute to us fans who get in when the gate opens and don't miss the warmups while others are getting drunk at tailgates. You'll never get a photo like your picture in 2019 because the Bills are going to be great and the stands will be filled. On the other hand you may still have a situation like your photo at the end of a game we're up by 30 points and it's cold. By the end of the season even the most pessimistic fan will have seen so much winning that they'll be tired of winning by 4 TDs every week.
  10. Well, ***** I AM. Until proven otherwise I EXPECT this team to win the AFC this season. Obviously that puts us in the playoffs. Depending on how you count Kurt Warner & Carson Wentz, up to 7 teams made the Super Bowl with a 2nd year QB. 5 outright, Warner in his 2nd NFL season after being cut as a rookie by GB in camp in 1994 & years later resurfacing in St. Louis & 2 seasons ago Philadelphia winning the Super Bowl with their backup after Wentz was injured. In fact 5 of the 7 teams WON the Super Bowl, so not only am I expecting the Bills to get there, I expect them to win it. I'm not joking, I'm dead serious, Buffalo's Going To The Super Bowl!
  11. The closest thing to Rosen was in 1990. In 1989 Dallas drafted Troy Aikman in the regular draft & used another 1st rounder on Steve Walsh in the supplemental draft. After 3 games in the 1990 season with Aikman #1 on the depth chart, Walsh was traded to New Orleans. The difference was Walsh was traded for a #1 & #3 in 1991 & a 2nd in 1992. This shows either how badly Arizona handled things or how much Rosen's stock dropped once the other teams saw him play vs NFL caliber talent.
  12. I don't know what your posting history is on trading up or down, but I've always believed trading up for a player you want & know you will get is better than trading down and getting picks that you have no idea if anybody you really want will be available at. So, the reality is the majority of posters around here think it's better to trade down-until the guy they want is picked a few picks before the Bills pick. The worst trade down guy is Mike Dope on WGR. I swear, everything he says I disagree with.
  13. He did in free agency. You don't just dial up #1 WRs in the mid rounds of the draft. DK was the darling of many around here and he lasted until (edit) the end of the 2nd round*. Ever think the GMs around the league know more than you? Truth is even the league's worst GMs know more than just about everyone on this board. *-I originally said 3rd round-proof that the GMs know more than me too.
  14. I don't know about ones from years back but the most recent one to go to the HOF is Kurt Warner, who got cut by GB as a rookie and you know the rest of the story. What I think is most interesting is that in 1994 Warner was in the same camp with Farve, Brunell and former Heisman winner Ty Detmer. To this day I believe it was the greatest group of QBs ever on one team, albeit in preseason, at the same time. Two Hall of Famers, a pro bowler and a former Heisman winner who was a decent career backup and lasted 14 years in the NFL. Combined, the 4 QBs played a total of 65 seasons.
  15. He has the 2019 season to make or break. Maybe he turns things around in his 3rd season like Eric Moulds did, but until he does, I don't think anyone is counting on him to be a long term answer. I'm sure all Bills fans would love to see him have that Moulds-like turnaround and play like the guy they expected when he was drafted.
  16. He had a good game or 2 that looked good on paper and made his season look better, but watching him every week, I still think he has a long way to go and is no better than the team's 4th best receiver going into camp. He still had too many drops and is still not crisp enough on his routes. The best thing that I can see in his new approach is he's staying away from windows this offseason (Sorry, I just couldn't resist). If the top 3 stay healthy, Zay is going to have only a handful of catches this year & will likely be fighting for a roster spot in 2020 if the Bills draft any WRs in the 1st 3 rounds. PS: This has nothing to do with my reply to the doctor, but there aren't just 2 spots left if this week the Bills cut Vlad and some of the other suspects who will be long gone before opening day.
  17. One of the toughest jobs in preseason is going to be sorting out a starting offensive line. Fortunately the guy making the decision will have fresh eyes & won't be tied to any of the players. He & McDermott will decide on the best 5 and who will be the backups. What a difference a season makes! Last year the starters were chosen as the lessors of multiple evils. This year there will be real competition among some pretty talented players. Guys who are still on the roster like Vlad should be expecting a pink slip soon & Teller should get ready to compete for a practice squad spot or a team in the XFL.
  18. No it's not a legitimate discussion. Nobody is trashing Allen, like the league just trashed Rosen. If Allen was on the trade market teams would be throwing multiple #1s at the Bills begging them to take their picks for Allen. Meanwhile Rosen was traded for a late 2nd & a future 5th. I haven't heard anyone in the media saying anyone who needs a QB should have given Arizona even one #1. If you can't take the heat don't start a stupid thread & then get your panties twisted when someone calls you out on it.
  19. Which one? The one that gutted their roster & drafted a player at #6 who they hope doesn't play for 3 years, or the team that hired a head coach who looks like a mental patient and then hired 2 assistants who hate each other?
  20. Now on NFL Network they're saying the Dolphins think pick 48 is too high & are putting heat on Arizona to lower the price.
  21. I'm rooting for the same thing to take place in Miami this year, but I doubt it will happen because Gase was fired for wanting to win & if Miami gets the #1 pick, management will have a Mission Accomplished banner hanging at their 1st post season presser.
