  1. The thing that people forgot was the Jets had 3 suspended players on opening day. They were a mess against Cleveland because Mosley & Darnold joined the suspended guys on the inactive list. In a few weeks the Jets won't be a mess anymore. They do need to upgrade their O-line & should be seeking any means necessary to do so ASAP. However, as long as they have Gase as HC, they'll never reach their true potential.
  2. The Bills @ NE game time/date will be announced after week 8.
  3. This reminds me of a day at work that didn't go well in the early 1990s. We had a meeting that they sprung on me without preparation with one of our agency's lawyers & he didn't like the way I was answering the questions & went nuts on my boss after the meeting. We get back in my boss's office and he gets mad at me. I yelled back at him that I was going to the Super Bowl & I'm not going to think about work until after the game.
  4. Great to be home for best fans. Why home game unique & special? When you drive you see all partying headed to the game. D in year 3, continuity built up, naming a bunch of players on D. Culture & attitude: 2 most important aspects people & ball. Blue collar area. Schein-loves Allen, loved pick, like what he saw. Allen: very early, bringing him along, Josh works hard & earns respect of teammates. Allen's Biggest jump, comfort. Takes time to adjust to playing NFL D's. Schein loved Smoke signing. Great vertical speed & route running. Great young man, works hard Frank Gore. Here early. Unbelievable habits. Coach has learned from him. Fire still burns Singletary day to day, great for him to learn from Gore O-line: Chemisry: Morse out preseason challenge, then gave others opportunity Kroft when he's ready they'll put him out there Continual growth. Get better. Just focused on Bengals & continue progress. On culture: continue to grow, excited on transforming mindset. Beane brought in guys who love to work. On Cin: Good explosive team, special teams great coach, go for long ball, Not where we want to be try to get better. Need better fundamentals, tackling, cut down penalties, not turning it over Define success: Trying to win the next day, Accountability to one another, don't let the other guy down. Schein: perfect answer on how they want to improve. Talked about culture & why they can make playoffs.
  5. A player who is claimed on waivers has to report to the team that claims him. If he clears waivers he can sign with any team's practice squad. Every practice squad player is technically a free agent, free to sign with any team that wants to put him on their 53. Since he's already cleared waivers, he is not subject to a waiver claim again until he is on someone's 53 man roster. If a player is approached by another team & offered a contract he has the option of staying on his team's practice squad rather than signing with the interested team. This can happen in the case the player feels he has a future with his current team & feels the other team only wants him for a short period of time. A good example would be if the Jets wanted a QB for this week to be the backup & instead of signing Fales as they did, they wanted some practice squad QB. That QB might realize the Jets want him for 1 or 2 games until Darnold comes back & then he's gone. In that case it makes more sense to stay on his team's practice squad rather than join the Jets & PO the team he feels he has a future with.
  6. 2 more weeks and he'll have his WRs at full strength. Some of the Giants WRs didn't look that bad on Sunday & their top 2 didn't play. They have a decent O-line , I don't know where you got your idea on their line from-maybe last year, one of if not the best RB in the league to decrease pressure, a star at TE etc. If anything, as far as starting him for the rest of the season he's set up to succeed far better than most rookie QBs. The Giants offense is way ahead of their defense.
  7. The new regime came in and drafted their own QB in the 4th round of the 2018 draft, Kyle Lauletta, cut Webb before the 2018 season & he was signed by the Jets to their practice squad. The Jets then cut Webb after this preseason & the Bills picked him up. Alex Tanney was the Giants 2nd stringer last year, Lauletta 3rd string. Then this year they drafted Jones in the 1st and Tanney beat out Lauletta for 3rd string and cut Lauletta who ended up on the Eagles practice squad.
  8. Wise man predicted KANSAS CITY RB Shady McCoy would run for 100 yards with the BILLS. ?
  9. If Allen wins us a Super Bowl I don't care if the media wants to claim Mayfield, Darnold & Jackson are better. All that matters is Allen is the best QB for the Buffalo Bills. Very similar to when Kelly was rated behind Elway & Marino among the class of 1983.
  10. I think he'll bust because the evidence when he was on the trade market was that the GMs around the league didn't want him & QBs are so well scouted at the pro level once there's film on him vs NFL players (as opposed to evaluating them in college where most of the players they're playing with and against won't ever play a down in ab real NFL game) that anyone with potential is overvalued, not undervalued. When he was on the trade market the Dolphins were able to trade down & send a lower 2nd only after they recouped a 2nd in next years draft. QBs who drop in value almost always bust. The fact that Fitzpatrick is still starting over him after 2 horrible losses is pretty much a death knell for his career. Rosen will be fine when he leaves football. He has other interests outside of football. In fact, he might not have much more interest in football after the way he's been bounced around.
  11. Another I heard of him trade thread without thinking about salary cap & team chemistry ramifications.
  12. Here's a link to that game from the Bills website. The lowest priced tickets are from Ticket Exchange. They start at $93 pre fees. Tickets the Bills have for sale start at $132 pre fees. The decent (sideline)seats in the 100 section are in the high $100s-low-mid $200s Pre-fees. The fees are about 12% based on the markup on my seat. EDIT: THE LINK BELOW DOESN'T HAVE THE RESALE TICKETS. YOU CAN CHANGE THE FILTER ABOVE WHERE THE TICKETS ARE LISTED TO INCLUDE ALL TICKETS. https://www1.ticketmaster.com/event/0000566BD8347549?brand=bills&artistid=805905&landing=s&camefrom=CFC_BILLS_BBC_PIP
  13. I made plans to go to Buffalo for the Eagles game & I had sticker shock looking at the prices on the secondary market for decent seats. I finally got fed up looking on the secondary market & went to the Bills website. It turns out the Bills have club seats available that never sold for less than $100 more than what the good seats are going for in the 100 sections. Fortunately I bet the Bills yesterday vs the Giants at -2.5. I cashed the bet, put money in the bank and spent $327 on a club seat. I used to spend that much on season tickets, but since I'm down to 1 home game a season, I said screw it and spent part of my profits.
  14. I've already seen King's January 2020 column, I'll give you a teaser with one of the lines: On two straight Sundays the Buffalo Bills won playoff games.
  15. Their list was #1 Allen, #2 Darnold, #3 Mayfield, #4 Rosen, #5 Rudolph, #6 Lauletta (from the alleged photo of the Bills draft board). They were looking to trade into 5 with Denver, but only for one of their top 3.
  16. All those people who penciled in a loss at Pittsburgh on 12/15 should turn that pencil around and use the eraser.
  17. That's going to be my strategy for a while. I have 2 plays in a 298 person pool. I had NE & Houston this past week-Thanks Doug! If Marrone doesn't go for 2 I might be down to 1 entry today.
  18. I went out & bought his jersey a day or 2 after that game because I was going to the next Bills home game (2 weeks later) & wanted to wear it to the game. That game vs Tennessee, was the only Bills game I went to in Orchard Park last year. Allen had a game ending winning drive that game. I went to both games in NJ this season. The Bills are 3-0 when I'm at the game wearing the Josh Allen jersey. Then 70, then 75 etc. They wouldn't be happy with a 99% completion percentage. I was in the stands & I said to Petrino "He's giving Josh the business."
  19. See NY Jets, a team that had some kicking problems, finally settled it, finding a Pro Bowl kicker, then decided that they didn't need to pay him market value and let him leave via free agency. This is in sharp contrast to the Buffalo Bills who signed one of the league's best kickers to a 3 year contract 2 years ago and had the foresight to extend him 2 more years rather than risk being the NY Jets. Don't be the NY Jets
  20. Show me one NFL QB who doesn't miss on some throws. Go back and watch the HOF QBs- they all miss throws. Imagine if your QB threw 3 INTs on the 1st 3 series of a game. Well that's what Jim Kelly did one Monday night vs Cincinnati, but he sucked it up, the D played great & the Bills won the game easily. Remember when Jim Kelly went to Pittsburgh & KC for what seemed like his yearly butt kicking by the opposing D. The same guy who was a 1st ballot HOF QB! 'You're nitpicking 2 winning performances.
  21. This is the difference between a stat sheet & film. The Bills had Allen rated the top QB in the draft last year (remember the leaked draft board I posted last week & others did before me) because they studied him on film, talked intensely with him & didn't worry what was on a piece of paper or a computer screen when they had a pretty good idea that his stats didn't tell the story professional scouting did. It's pretty obvious that Allen was going top 10 in the draft because there were other professionals who also saw the same things the Bills did. There was direct competition for Allen by Arizona (We Won!) and who knows what other teams were lurking if the Bills didn't have the best trade up ammo. Also, anyone who watched the Bills last year knew how dreadful the players were around Allen. A terrible O-line, a weak group of receivers (especially at the start of the season prior to Foster & McKenzie providing a little better options in the 2nd half of the season, a bad group of TEs & outside of an aging McCoy, who couldn't do anything last year, a bad group of RBs. So with a revamped offense, now Allen actually has some players to work with. Anyone (Especially YOU clown Mike Francesa) who didn't watch any Bills games and then went on the air proclaiming Allen an inaccurate joke based on his 2018 completion % should be begging anyone from Bills Mafia to the Pegulas to accept their humble apology. (Yes I know it's only 2 games but I'm not coming down off this cloud this week)
