  1. The Jets beat the Cowboys 3 weeks ago & just lost to Miami, so we have to approach individual game predictions with caution,. Still, there's no way the Bills win only 2 games the rest of the season unless they get a slew of injuries. Before the season on another board I broke down the reasoning why I thought this was 10 win team. Here's what I said: Definite wins 1 of Jets games, both Miami games, NYG, Cincinnati, Washington, Denver, Baltimore (Anyone who thinks Lamar Jackson is winning in Buffalo has lost their mind), Split among road games at Tennessee & Cleveland 9th win, 1 more win in games against New England (2), Philadelphia, Dallas, & Pittsburgh. As of now it looks like we're still on schedule to win 10. So far my opinion of Baltimore & Jackson may need revision as well as my higher opinion of the Jets. Flip another Jets win & give the Baltimore game a loss & we still win 10 games. I still think we can win 1 of the games vs NE, Dallas & Pittsburgh, with the most likely win vs Pittsburgh, There's also a good chance we beat Cleveland this week & exceed my expectations on the Tennessee/Cleveland split. I still think we beat Denver at home. So if we beat Cleveland, we don't even have to win one of the 3 games remaining against the teams that appeared to be the toughest games before the season started to get to 10 wins.
  2. I'd rather have a QB who wins 75% of his games (like Allen has done this season) and drives the short sighted stat boys crazy than a QB who loses more games than he wins but puts up a bunch of 300 yard games because he threw some picks early & is playing from behind. Every time some stat boy starts a thread quoting QB stats, he needs to be reminded that the most important stat is Ws in the standings.
  3. Shout became Bills Digest. This year I bought a digital subscription to Bills Digest. Unlike Shout, they do 1 every 2-3 weeks & not every week during the season. I used to subscribe by mail & then when I stopped I could get a copy around Albany. A few years ago they stopped selling the paper in Albany. I noticed they still print them & saw them in Tops when I was in Buffalo this weekend.
  4. I was in club seats and stayed indoors until after the anthem was played. Most of the people were sitting at tables and didn't stand nor did they remove their hats. I was surprised that even though we were at the game, most of the fans who stayed indoors through the anthem treated it like they were sitting at home and watching it on tv.
  5. When the Bills were looking for a new head coach (eventually choosing McDermott) the one candidate I was totally against was Lynn because I wanted all ties to Rex Ryan to end. Lynn was too close to Rex IMO to become his replacement. I wanted a clean sweep of Ryan's mess.
  6. The only player they would have forewent a QB for at #1 was Barkley. If they wanted Nelson they could have had him at 4, he was drafted 6th. Also if they had taken Barkley, they wouldn't have drafted Chubb, who is nowhere near the player Barkley is. Barkley is a once in a generation RB.
  7. The Giants O line is decent. The main problem is a rookie QB who is holding on to the ball too long.
  8. What Cleveland should have done was to draft Barkley at #1 and take their highest rated QB left at #4. They would have been able to get either Allen, Darnold or Mayfield to go with Barkley.
  9. Montana played for KC after SF before retiring. Some of the great QBs ended up playing in other cities in their waning years: Montana, Namath, Unitas, Favre, P. Manning, A. Manning,
  10. It was Amtrak. Here's something from 1997 (It failed to mention the stops in Schenectady & Utica). The trains ended in the early 2000s. On one trip some guys who got on in Albany (Actually Rensselaer) created so much trouble they got kicked off in Utica on the return ride & got arrested with the cops waiting for them as we pulled into Utica., https://buffalonews.com/1997/06/28/bills-schedule-five-amtrak-express-games/ The Buffalo Bills have announced five home games for "The Buffalo Bills Express," an Amtrak train bringing fans from Eastern New York into Buffalo for Bills' home games in 1997. The games are: Aug. 31 vs. the Minnesota Vikings; Oct. 5 vs. the Detroit Lions; Oct. 26 vs. the Denver Broncos; Nov. 2 vs. the Miami Dolphins and Dec. 14 vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars. All are Sunday afternoon games beginning at 1 p.m. The train, which begins its round-trip journey in Albany at 6 a.m., will depart from Syracuse at 8:30, and Rochester at 9:50 before arriving in Amtrak's Depew station at 11. From Depew, the registered passengers will board 22 buses that will transport them directly to Rich Stadium in Orchard Park. Buses will depart from the stadium 40 minutes after the game ends. Upon arrival in Depew, the train will begin boarding for immediate departure. The cost of the round-trip tickets, as well as one game ticket in Section A-Club Level is $75. A train ticket only will cost $38.
  11. Unless Daniel Jones improves, Brady's best choice would be the NY Giants, who can say they are going back to their original plan to let Jones sit & learn. Brady is not going to a smaller market than Boston, he'll only leave for a big city. Brady already lives part time in NYC. If his future plans are for show biz or in the sports media NY is the place for him since there are no QB openings in California.
  12. There's no place to play one. The college stadiums are all way too small. In the 1990s there was a train that went across the state for some Bills home games (The Bills Express), starting in Rensselaer and stopping in Schenectady, Utica, Syracuse, & Rochester. It would arrive in Depew & fans would be bused to Orchard Park. There was even talk of adding a train station in OP for game day fans to arrive by train. As the Bills stopped making the playoffs, the train attendance went down to the point it was not economically feasible to continue operating it. I remember being on one of the last train rides. The train only had 2 cars. When I arrived at the Schenectady station to wait for the train nobody else was there. Eventually a few more people showed up before the train arrived, but it was pretty obvious that the Bills bandwagon had slowed quite a bit in the Capital District. We still have the 3rd biggest following behind the Giants (clearly #1) and the Jets. The good news is no matter how successful they are, the Patriots have never been able to pass the Bills in popularity in our area. That's probably because NE is in a different state so there aren't any state employee transfers from Massachusetts to Albany as there are from parts of WNY & because of SUNY & other colleges the odds are a lot better that some WNY students came here to go to school & stayed in our area while others went to college in WNY before ending up in Albany.
  13. The interesting thing about this season, with 3 of the class of 2018 1st round QBs in the AFC East & the schedule having the East play the AFC North is that NE plays all 5 2018 1st round QBs. They'll probably make them all look pretty bad. That's what NE does to young QBs. It doesn't mean anything long-term. I guess today is a day for Bills fans to point to Darnold and laugh. Next week it will be Baker Mayfield's turn to look bad with Jackson not that far behind on the schedule. The best thing for fans to do after their 2nd year QB looks like garbage against NE is R-E-L-A-X. The 2019 Patriots may be one of the greatest Ds of all time. Fortunately, nobody has to play them every week. In what was the worst game of his Super Bowl season, Joe Namath was horrible vs the Bills. Sometimes a QB just has a bad day. Unfortunately NE's D is giving their opponent's QB his bad day every week.
  14. The one thing in the video that the guy got wrong: It is much easier for someone in Albany to go to MetLife stadium than to New Era stadium. The drive is about half the distance and even the ticket prices aren't much different. I went to the Bills 1st 2 games in NJ. I'm going to the Eagles game this Sunday. Because of the demand, the game in Buffalo will cost me more than either of the 2 games I went to in NJ & those were both teams' home openers. You've been going to the wrong stores. Yes the big chains like Dick's (properly named) don't sell Bills stuff, but the smaller ones do. Last year I went to Crossgates & couldn't get a Josh Allen jersey at Dick's, but there was a smaller store in the mall that had the Allen jersey that I bought.
  15. I know this won't be a popular opinion but here it goes: When I sit in the endzone & clowns like the OP pound on the back of the seat in front of them it shakes my seat, several seats away. Pound on your own seat next time instead of annoying people around you. I'm sitting in section 212 next week & I'm glad to hear that seat pounding clowns are looked down upon there.
  16. Then bet the game when the time comes. Win the division.
  17. WRONG!!!! You are what your record says you are. The Bills have the 2nd best record in the AFC, they are better than the Colts BECAUSE THE RECORDS SAY SO. Logic 101.
  18. Henry Jones also ran an onside kick back for a TD in 1999. A 10 point lead is safer than a 3 point lead. If you fumble a snap you can still lose the game trying to run the clock out. 10 points guarantees they need 2 scores. Ironically the score was identical. 24-21 before the kick, 31-21 after and the final score. Here's a link to the story of the day Jones ran the onside kick in for those to young, too old or who didn't see the game in 1999. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/bills-ground-cardinals/
  19. Thanks. It worked while the WGR Radio.com bookmark I have didn't.
