  1. I don't agree. I think it's pretty easy for NFL coaches to spot a bust since they see him just about every day at practice and in games. When the coach believes he's got a bust, his 1st inclination is to bench him ASAP because he realizes that the bad QB can cost him his job. Marrone bailed on EJ for Orton & Mularkey bailed on JP for Holcomb. Neither EJ nor JP were ruined, they never had it & the coach realized it & benched them. The only reason JP got another shot was because a new coaching staff that didn't see him every day came in. The next year they benched him for a rookie after JP got injured. Look at Josh Rosen. Arizona saw a bust, dumped him off to Miami & Miami cut him after 2 years in the NFL. Nobody wants him on their active roster, now he's on a practice squad on his way to oblivion. There were a lot of questions about Haskins & his lack of college experience going into the draft. I think Ron Rivera & his staff have seen enough to write the guy off. It's always easier for someone who had nothing to do with drafting him to bench a high draft pick. I expect Haskins to ride off to the sunset and join a lot of 1st round QB busts. Nobody ruined him.
  2. Kyle Allen starts, Alex Smith #2, Haskins to be inactive. https://www.nfl.com/news/washington-kyle-allen-starting-quarterback-rams-in-week-5-dwayne-haskins
  3. The problem isn't the Titans losing a game. In fairness it's the Bills getting a win without playing and how it affects other teams in the playoff fight with us. Let's look at it from another point of view: Say the Bills are in a fight for homefield the division or a playoff spot. The team they are trying to beat out gets a win via forfeit. We'd be going crazy if NE got a "free" win.
  4. I think I found the biggest epic fail of all the pre-draft columns: https://primetimesportstalk.com/2018/03/05/connon-hypocrisy-reigns-in-the-nfl-draft-qb-conversation/ There are two quarterbacks in this year’s draft class who will emerge as stars, without question—UCLA’s Josh Rosen and USC’s Sam Darnold. There are mock drafts that have Allen going No. 1 and Mayfield going No. 5, with Darnold and Rosen potentially falling out of the top 10. If any team passes on those two for Allen or Mayfield, that team should be dissolved. ' In all honesty, I pray that the scouts for the teams at the top of the draft don’t overlook them too. They are generational talents, and much more suited for the NFL game than Mayfield or Allen—and don’t even get me started on Lamar Jackson. Talk to me in a year, or maybe in five years, or ten. When Rosen and Darnold are taking over the league while Allen and Mayfield have faded into obscurity, I’ll be here, giving everyone a nice dose of “told you so” for good measure.
  5. Dan Orlovsky would fire him today:https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/ex-detroit-lions-qb-dan-orlovsky-obliterates-matt-patricia-it-s-a-bunch-of-trash/ar-BB19IFXa?ocid=msedgdhp He is unequivocally rejecting Patricia's premise that "there was a lot of work to do." "First of all, we were 11-5 in 2014, and a real good football team," Orlovsky said on ESPN Radio's morning show, "Keyshawn, JWill & Zubin," on Monday. "(In) 2015, we go 7-9, it's because we turn the football over, but the last eight games, we were 7-1, so flipped our season around. The next two years, we were 9-7, and I believe we were playing Green Bay in both years with a chance to win the division. "To come in and say you had a lot work to do is completely false. It's a bunch of trash. Because that wasn't the case in Detroit. We were a good football team. Matthew Stafford was playing as good as he has in his career. That was because of Coach Caldwell. And we were an organization that was ascending, we were building." And Orlovsky wasn't done. "The culture was amazing. The culture was fantastic. So, you had a winning record in three of your four years. The culture was great and your quarterback was playing really good football. "So for (Patricia) to say there was a lot of work to be done is a bunch of trash."
  6. There might be a lot of places for Daboll to go and be a head coaxh Dead Men Walking Adam Gase -Jets Dan Quinn-Falcons Doug Marrone-Jaguars Vic Fangio-Broncos If things don't improve he's gone Matt Patricia-Lions Anthony Lynn-Chargers Bill O'Brien-Texans Mike Zimmer-Vikings Vets who could be one & done Mike McCarthy-Cowboys Ron River-Washington (health reasons)
  7. Here's the bad news, the Bills weren't the team that originated the song. I'm not sure who originally sang it, but I saw a video of the Steelers dynasty of the 70s & one of the clips had the Steelers players singing to the same tune "I got a feeling Pittsburgh's going to the Super Bowl."
  8. Isiah Robertson LB 1979-1982. Chuck Knox brought him over to the Bills after coaching him with the Rams. I remember that song and used to sing it all the time. The time I best remember was I was driving on a parkway in LI when I heard about the USFL lawsuit ending with the award of $3. Immediately I had visions of Jim Kelly QBing the Bills and I started singing that song in my car.
  9. Russell was always lazy & never was going to make it in the NFL with his attitude. I've seen stories about Ryan Leaf pre & post draft that also showed him to have a bad attitude. One thing with Allen. Nobody ever found his attitude during the draft process to be anything but top notch, especially in his 3 pre-draft visits with the Bills. Here's a gem I found about Russell's interview with Detroit: In 2015, Matt Millen said in a radio interview that he warned former Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis not to draft Russell in 2007. According to Millen, Russell struggled to pay attention during a pre-draft interview in his office during a visit to Detroit which had the No. 2 pick that year to the point where Millen kicked Russell out after he kept looking down at his watch. "I keep talking to him, I ask him questions and he looks at his watch," Millen said. "I said, 'You got some place you need to be?' And he goes, 'Oh, no, no, no. I'm sorry. Sorry, sir.' So I ask him another question, he looks at his watch and I said, 'You're done, get out of here." Millen said he then told Russell to go to see head coach Rod Marinelli, who later also told Russell to leave his office. "So I'm done, I can't believe what I just witnessed, and so I call Al," Millen said, "I get on the phone and I say, 'Coach, I don't know what you're thinking, but don't take JaMarcus Russell. Don't take Calvin Johnson, but don't take JaMarcus Russell.

  11. Wow! How could the Bills be so stupid to have picked Beane over you after Whaley got fired? Your credibility sinks even lower when you post nonsense like this. Nobody has been dead on as possible (whatever that means) about anything for the last 20 years. You were right because you agreed with Beane, but you were also right when you disagreed with Beane's 2nd round pick. Guess what, I'd rather have Diggs and Ford than Metcalf. Beane saw an O-line need last year & went for it after signing 2 WRs. Then this year he went for an established #1 WR. You don't usually dial up #1 WRs at the end of the 2nd round. If you're so good send your resume & posts from the last 20 years to the Jets. They need someone who claims to be as good as you.
  12. With the postponement of the Patriots-Chiefs game Sunday because of positive coronavirus tests on both teams, the NFL has moved the Bears-Colts game from 1 to 4:25 p.m. Sunday to give CBS a second doubleheader game. The postponement will enable Capital Region viewers to see Bills-Raiders at 4:25 p.m. The game initially was trumped by Patriots-Chiefs. Some markets will get Bears-Colts, but those will be mostly in the Midwest. https://blog.timesunion.com/sportsmedia/patriots-chiefs-postponement-puts-bills-raiders-on-local-tv-as-nfl-juggles-schedule/19817/

  14. I know it's nitpicking, but there are a couple of flaws in the arricle. 1) The author states Arizona was at #10. " The Cardinals, however, were looming at No. 10, and the Bills were originally picking at No. 12." They were at 15 when the Bills traded up to 7. They moved up to 10 to select Rosen when the Raiders were on the clock at 10. They didn't have the #10 pick until they traded up, presumably to get ahead of Miami. 2) When the Ravens drafted Jackson, Marty Mornhinwig was the Ravens OC, Roman was TE coach Jackson's rookie year. Roman was promoted to OC for the 2019 season. Saying that Roman was on the offensive coaching staff doesn't mean he'd be working with Jackson while coaching the TEs.
  15. Unfortunately, not everyone will get the game because CBS moved the Colts/Bears game to 4:25. They better show the Bills in Albany or there will be people outside WRGB with pitchforks & torches outside WRGB's building.
  16. It's official, NE @ KC postponed. The Bills game will be shown in Albany. No way Albany shows Colts/Bears game which has been moved to 4:25 & will be shown in the Midwest.
  17. Sorry, but when you are knocking Beane for not taking a guy who was the last pick in the 2nd round who turned out to be the 9th WR taken in the draft and comparing his draft status to the 7th overall pick & the 3rd QB taken, you lose all credibility. Fans from every team could post the same thing based on how Metcalf is playing. You can do the same thing whenever a guy gets overlooked by just about every GM & turns out to be a good to great player. I repeat 9th WR, last pick of the 2nd round. Somewhere in NY there's a Jets fan saying the Jets GM blew it by not drafting Gabe Davis before we did. You can do this every draft. Why didn't we draft Brady in the 5th round? Just because you felt strongly about a player who the Bills didn't draft & you were right about his talent when no NFL GM thought of him as highly as you did, doesn't make you GM material. I trust Beane's judgement over any poster on this board 24/7.
  18. With Newton out, that's possible. I hope once KC gets ahead everyone turns the game off & switches to the Giants game & WRGB looks at the ratings and never chooses NE over the Bills again. Edit: WGR is talking about the game being postponed. I hope it happens because if it does, we get the Bills game. From a purely selfish view I say postpone, postpone, postpone! Double Edit: Schefter is saying the Pats game is getting postponed. WGR is talking like it's a done deal that we'll be the CBS national game at 4:25. NFL Network now saying game postponed until at least Monday or Tuesday Nobody messes with the Buffalo Bills being show on TV in Albany.
  19. East Rutherford, N.J.? Seriously, the Giants trained here for years & the stadium is the closest to Albany in the entire NFL. It makes perfect sense that people here would be fans of NY teams. Before the virus I would go to Yankee Stadium every year. We have bus trips to a lot of NY teams from Albany. We're also not that far from Boston, Mass. Buffalo is further away than NY, NJ, Boston, etc. The only reason the Bills are popular here is because a lot of us lived in Buffalo prior to coming to Albany. I've lived in both the NYC metro area & Buffalo metro area. You sound like one of the NYC hating jerks I ran into when I lived in Buffalo.

  21. Caller to WFAN "Adam Gase makes Rich Kotite look like Paul Brown"
  22. Joe Thomas & Steve Smith were really going after each other. Smith : Gregg is dirty, Thomas, the ex LT (future HOF) block better then they can't hit the QB.
