  1. I hear he's up to 900 lbs and will occupy so much space it will be impossible for any team to run against the Bills. We're also signing Bill Brasky so that each week there will be 0 to negative rushing yards against us.
  2. More like a coach who realizes he may have only 3 more seasons to coach.
  3. It was from the microfilm in the Buffalo Public Library in Downtown Buffalo of the actual newspapers that period & I ran the microfilm until I reached the right day. I read other parts of the newspaper. What's wrong with you? Who photoshops a newspaper in Buffalo's biggest library that's on microfilm from 1967? You might be thinking of the Buffalo Evening News.
  4. Since I grew up in Long Island, I didn't get to see many Bills games as a kid. I was 13 watching the AFL championship game for the rights to go to the 1st Super Bowl. During the broadcast from the Rockpile, they were showing some banners in the stands. One of the banners said "Bills in Super Bowl, Chiefs in soup bowl" and if I recall correctly they had drawn a soup bowl with Chiefs players in it & steam coming out of the bowl. I thought it was the greatest banner I'd ever seen. Years later when it came around to Super Bowl time, I'd hear someone say on the air that they didn't call the Super Bowl the Super Bowl until SBIII. I got so obsessed to prove them wrong, remembering the banner, I went to the Buffalo public library & found the Courier Express from the day after the game. As you can see, the paper says "Kansas City Team Gains Super Bowl"
  5. Not if we draft someone who is a return specialist, preferably a CB.
  6. Since the season ended the debate has been between those of us, myself included, who think the problem with the running game and the team's abandonment of it is because our RBs aren't very good and those who have blamed it on the O-line. Well, so far based on the re-signing of Feliciano and Williams, it looks pretty obvious to me that Beane, who in his end of season PC indicated he wasn't pleased with the running game, doesn't think the O-line was the problem. The starting 5 are basically locked in with the exception of LG, which will be either Ford or Boettger. So IMO Beane knows our RBs suck and will be looking to upgrade at RB, not O-line, either in free agency or the draft. The lamest excuse I've seen for not upgrading the running back position is that Beane would have to admit he made a mistake drafting a RB in the 3rd round in each of the last 2 drafts. Beane doesn't seem to be the type whose pride would cause him to keep the status quo at a position of need just because he drafted two 3rd round RBs. If the Bills were so satisfied with Singletary & Moss as the top 2 RBs, they would have never tried to sign Bell in the middle of this past season.
  7. Why do you think there's any chance the Giants do anything with Barkley other than accept his 5th year option? Sorry, but your OP is ridiculous. No
  8. These signings combined with KC cutting both O-Tackles has to make the Bills AFC Championship favorites.
  9. He needs to sign with NE for 2 reasons. Finish his career for the team that is his university's home team. Complete the AFC East tour.
  10. My freshman year at Fredonia (50 years ago) I drove to Lily Dale with some friends because it was so close to us & we were curious. The "psychic" who did our readings was very general and nothing she told me about the future came true.
  11. Watson has a no trade clause. I doubt he'd agree to go to the NFL's worst team. He was pretty upset he was on a 4win team last year, so why would he agree to go to a 1 win team?
  12. Harry Anderson is available. Since he ruined Steve Hauschka's career with a cheap shot hit, the Bills should sign him just to bring him to camp so someone can break his legs.
  13. Kellen Winslow JR. He was not your father's Kellen Winslow.
  14. Here's an interesting thing that happened between 2016 and 2018: Of the 11 1st round QBs the only QB not traded up for in the draft was Baker Mayfield, drafted by Cleveland where he didn't need to be traded up for. The results. 2016 1-Goff: Based on the trade to Detroit and having to give up so much to unload him, the trade up was a failure, even though they made a Super Bowl with Goff. 2-Wentz: Another trade up that turned into a failure, probably due to the fact wentz has been injury prone and regressed from his 2017 season that ended with an injury. 26-Lynch: A bust that Denver regretted trading up to draft. 2017 2-Trubisky: A major disappointment, especially since they could have stayed put & drafted either Mahomes or Watson. 10-Mahomes: A smash hit that KC would trade for 100 times out of 100 chances. 12-Watson: A major success even if he never plays another down in Houston, because the Texans will either convince him to stay or they will get a lot of picks and/or players in return 2018 1-Mayfield: The Browns had no need to trade up and finally picked a 1st round QB after trading away the picks to draft Wentz (OK) and Watson (mistake) 3-Darnold: The Jets gave up a lot to trade up for Darnold and from all the chatter, appear to believe they made a mistake. They may trade him this offseason to a team that hopes to get more out of him than the Jets. The fact that he is on the last year of his contract & it's unlikely his 5th year option will be picked up (unless the team that trades for him has a faith belief he's good enough to pick up that option) which diminishes his trade value. What team would trade a 1st for 1 year of Darnold? 7-Allen: The Bills redeemed themselves after passing on and trading the pick that KC used on Mahomes the prior draft, getting the best QB of the class of 2018 (no homer). Another one of the smash hits who if Tampa hadn't won the Super Bowl with Tom Brady their fans would be regretting the trade for years. 10-Rosen: One of the biggest draft busts in years. Arizona reportedly loved our Josh, but didn't have the draft capital to compete with what the Bills had to offer. While they quickly regretted drafting Rosen, the Cardinals were smart enough to dump him before his value went down to nothing a year later and got a 2019 2nd and a 2020 5th. 32-Jackson: The Ravens were able to steal Jackson with a trade up with the Eagles for the last pick in the 1st round. A year ago, after his MVP season, Jackson was thought of as the top QB of the 2018 draft before being surpassed by Josh Allen (no homer).
  15. With that contract he can afford to buy a Super Bowl ring.
  16. I can beat that. When the Bills were Super Bowl contenders I used to tell my father that he better not die on a week I have Super Bowl tickets or I won't go to his funeral. He lived over a decade past the Bills glory years and died on a January Sunday in 2008 at age 87 during the Bills playoff drought and I was able to attend his funeral.
  17. While you can see the full condiment experience at Bills home games, it's easier to hang out with him at road games because there is a much smaller crowd. He's come to the bar in Baltimore with us at the R Rich pregame tailgate & I've been to his tailgate party in NE, although I stopped going to NE games about 10 years ago. I had to decline the bowling ball shots in NE because I never drink at games (or anywhere else) that I drive to.
  18. Zay Jones was before Beane arrived. He was drafted the year McDermott was running the draft using the scouting reports from Whaley's team while Whaley was banned from speaking in public. On the other side, Dawkins was also traded up for in the same draft & is our franchise LT. Cody Ford's grade is incomplete. He was out of position at RT as a rookie & got hurt in his 2nd season. We'll know a lot more about Ford during the 2021 season.
  19. When you trade up, you have to do it with some degree of sanity. I trust the Bills management not to do something as crazy/stupid as trading up for a player when they can get a comparable or better player in their original draft slot. Beane & his scouts do a lot of work on their high picks. I don't believe Beane would have ever made that trade, nor would he have traded back into the 1st round for JP Losman, John McCargo, etc. You have to have competent management whether you're trading up or down. The Bills didn't have that for almost the entire time of the drought. Donahoe looked good on paper when he was hired, but was very mediocre. The Levy, Brandon, Nix & Whaley terms were draft disasters.
  20. Always trade up, never trade down. If you trade up it's for a player you want. If you trade down you have no idea what you're getting. Our last 2 1st round QBs: Josh Allen traded up for. EJ Manuel traded down for. I rest my case. 🤩
  21. It would have been 21,146 since I drove a Jets fan to the game. It was so cold I stopped off on the way to the stadium and bought a ski mask. We bought prime club level seats for around $20 each from a scalper outside the stadium. After the game we were leaving & I still had my ski mask on & an XXL Bills tee shirt I wore over my coat. We saw Ralph Wilson in the concourse & I yelled "All the way to the Super Bowl, Ralph." He looked at me like I was some kind of nut.
  22. I went to a Bills @ Jets game on 12/23/89 that probably set the record at Giants Stadium for the lowest non-strike NFL game. It was a frigid cold day & only 21,148 attended.
  23. Get well soon Ken.
  24. The last NBA game I attended was in November 2019 before Covid. My nephew has season tickets to the Warriors & I was out there for Thanksgiving. In SF the season ticket holders have their own team representative. When there are empty seats in the front they will upgrade the season ticket holders so that there aren't empty seats on the TV broadcast. That night they were playing the Chicago Bulls, not a very big draw. My nephew told his representative that he was with his uncle from NY & asked for an upgrade. We ended up in one of the owners' seats in the front row. The other owner sat next to my nephew & they were talking throughout the game. Now the seats we were in are not affordable without the upgrade. I think the asking price is 5 grand per game. That's another problem with the NBA, it's too expensive. Back in the days I was going to Braves games I would buy tickets for a few $ and then move into the golds at the Aud. A lot of times there were promotions like Bells, Arco, Loblaws nights, etc. When I was 18 I looked about 14 or 15 so I would go into the promotion place like Bells & tell them I was 14 & would get tickets for $1 or $2. One time in Fredonia the clerk figured out I was a college student because I sounded like I was from downstate rather than WNY & asked me for my license, but I was too good at it & said "I'm 14, I don't have a license". I ended up with the ticket.
