  1. The only reason to hide draft board ratings is so that some other team doesn't trade up & jump your team to get a guy that both you & the other team covet. After the draft that's irrelevant. I think all the teams should reveal their draft ratings after the draft so over a period of years the fans can see if the scouts are good or suck. 😜
  2. I don't know why anyone cares about the Jaguars draft board AFTER the draft. They're berating the Jags, who didn't reveal anything that could help another team, while this Bills board was released to the media PRIOR to the draft and even showed the proposed deal with Denver that has since been confirmed as real. Just think if another team had enough draft capital and seeing this had moved into pick 4 to jump ahead of us for the right Josh. We would have ended up with either Rosen or Rudolph and unless we were bad enough to get Herbert in 2020, we'd still be floundering without a QB.
  3. JP is coaching at Clemson and EJ is a college football analyst for the ACC Network which is owned by ESPN. Getting back to the TSL, I saw part of the game & highlights from the game in Indy & it's amazing that they play in totally empty stadiums even after Covid restrictions have been eased.
  4. I always stayed to the end of games (unless I had to leave to catch a flight) and at that game I was actually glad Roscoe fumbled so I could start my 4.5 to 5 hour drive home. I was dreading the thought of overtime at the game I consider the worst NFL game I've ever been at out of the 272 games I've attended. I have another nominee. There were multiple sins by the players and coaches Houston at Bills 11/16/03 Bills were trailing 12-8 at the 2 minute warning, but had advanced to the Texans 31 yard line. After the 2 minute warning time out, Drew Bledsoe fumbles & Houston recovers. Bad enough, but it gets worse! With Houston now in possession & trying to run out the clock, they get called for a penalty. Now as soon as the penalty is called, London Fletcher is franically waving his arms to decline the penalty. See, London realized that if the penalty was accepted then Houston, with an additional down, would be able to run out the clock. However, either Gregg or one of his assistants on the sideline told the refs the Bills would accept the penalty. With the extra down Houston could now hold on to the ball & never give it back to the Bills. On the final play Andre Johnson took the ball and ran into the endzone as the clock hit 0:00 for a safety. The Bills accepting the penalty ended any chance at a comeback & the final score was Texans 12 Bills 10. As we were leaving the stadium, I turned to my friend Petrino & said "Ralph should have fired Gregg as soon as that penalty was accepted" Unlike the Jets who fired Gregg for losing the Raiders game last season, Ralph let Gregg continue to coach until the season ended.
  5. Mine is actually a series of plays. Jim Kelly threw a pass out of the endzone into the stands & was called for intentional grounding. I have never seen any other QB called for grounding throwing the ball out of the endzone before or after that game. Later on Kelly threw a pick 6 & the Dolphins won the game https://www.baltimoresun.com/news/bs-xpm-1996-10-14-1996288081-story.html But Kelly went back to pass, looked right, found no one open and then noticed Miami defensive lineman Tim Bowen bearing down on him. A veteran quarterback overthrows his covered tight ends on the right side, but inexplicably Kelly opted to throw to no one on the left side. The referee penalized the Bills for intentional grounding: 10 yards and a loss of down. Kelly, who is playing in the final year of his contract and looking for Marino-like money (a $3 million raise), threw the ball away in the correct manner on second down. He tripped while trying to hand off to Thomas on third down, resulting in only a 2-yard gain. And on fourth-and-goal from the 10, he threw the ball to Terrell Buckley. Unfortunately, Buckley plays for the Dolphins. A week ago Johnson fired safety Gene Atkins for not making plays in the secondary, but Buckley took the interception and returned it 91 yards for a touchdown to give Johnson his biggest victory with the Dolphins.
  6. I haven't decided whether I'm going to California for Thanksgiving, but if I do the Vikings are at the 49ers on 11/28.
  7. Wildgoose-self proclaimed future HOFer.
  8. Actually, one of my points was that even after Jackson played in some regular season games with tape on him for the rest of the NFL to see nobody tried to steal him & just as important, the Bills never sensed that there was a threat to steal him & never gave him a 53 man roster contract to make sure nobody stole him.
  9. Here's my concern about Dane Jackson's future. Before the start of the 2020 season he was waived before he got to the practice squad. Then even after some starts the Bills never signed him off the practice squad and no other team tried to steal him. This was after there was tape on him in real NFL games. While there are plenty of players who have made it after being stashed on a practice squad, the fact that no other team ever made an attempt to steal him during the season is a bit of a concern to me. Personally I'd rather see self proclaimed future Hall of Famer Rachad Wildgoose win the starting job as a rookie on the way to Canton.
  10. What package? Elaborate. Also learn to write your views clearly. Saying a package leaves things wide open to anything & you deserve al the flames you are getting.
  11. If Stafford goes down we can trade Jake Fromm to the Rams for Jalen Ramsey. If you're going to dream a pipe dream, go big or go home.
  12. The 1st thing I thought of reading the OP was a coach is only as good as his QB. The whole Bills organization did a great job in 2018 in evaluating the QB class & then making bold enough moves to move from 21 to 7 to get Allen. Imagine if Buddy Nix was still here and didn't want to move way up. What might have happened was Arizona, who wanted Allen, would have moved/stayed ahead of us for Josh Allen & Nix would have been happy that Josh Rosen fell into his lap. Then no matter who the coach was, within 2 years the Bills would, as WGR used to announce every 2 years, be on another "Coach Search".
  13. To Marv Levy Sophia Loren is a hot young babe.
  14. Not extremely different to the time the Bills brought a failed 36 year old QB back into the NFL for another try. Now the player had been great in the CFL during his 8 seasons away from the NFL but he was not changing positions & was not playing football again for the 1st time in years, but it worked out. You never know.
  15. NFL coaches bring their favorite old players in all the time. The difference here is the coach has never been in the NFL before, so he brought in a player who is a hard worker, will do anything the coach asks & is among the coach's favorite former players. The Bills have a history of doing this as well. Think of all the ex-Panthers McDermott has brought in. For us older guys think back to the late 70s & early 80s when Chuck Knox brought a bunch of ex-Rams to Orchard Park.
  16. he looks like a quarterback who will struggle with week-to-week consistency but will put together monster stretches of play that will make life difficult on opposing defenses. Those monster stretches are now called the NFL season.
  17. I don't see any way Stidham makes the team. Belichick had a chance to audition him in a meaningless season finale vs the Jets & chose to keep him on the sidelines. That and the 3.3 QBR in mop-up duty vs the Bills the week before was the writing on the wall. After getting trounced by the Bills, Belichick chose to play the QB who gave him the best chance to beat the lowly Jets and it's pretty obvious he had no faith in Stidham to take a chance against the 2nd worst team in the league. I don't even know if he'll even make it to preseason before he is cut.
  18. I can handle it as long as they honor all tickets for the opener. If they pull a 50% capacity and refund my money I'm not going to be happy.
  19. Is the author from Texas? Prescott way too high, especially coming off an injury season. Watson above Josh? Look at the W-L records last year. It's easier to pad stats on a losing team playing meaningless games without helping your team while making yourself look good on paper-and that's not even taking into account that at best he may have to serve a significant suspension and at worst he'll be watching games from a prison cell.
  20. Campbell in camp "You guys better start playing better or I'll feed you to the lion" When you get cut by the Lions you really get cut by the lions.
  21. If you were around at the time, you don't need to look something up. Don't believe everything you read.
  22. When everyone except the league office is calling something the Super Bowl, it's the Super Bowl from day 1. They were selling souvenirs with Super Bowl on them, fans in the stands were making banners referring to the game as the Super Bowl during the AFL championship game in the Rockpile, players and coaches were saying they are looking forward to playing in the Super Bowl, reporters like Heywood Hale Broun were saying during the pregame "This is Heywood Hale Broun at the Super Bowl" . I don't have to go to and quote some reference page to know that the game was called the Super Bowl by everyone but the league office, I was seeing it all in 1967 when it actually was happening. Most of the people who go along with the story that it wasn't the Super Bowl are either too young to know by experience or too old to remember.
  23. Anyone who still believes the myth that it wasn't called the Super Bowl needs to go to the 22:40 point of the video, where you'll see a man in the stands wearing a hat that says Super Bowl. At 36:58 at the bottom of the screen during the halftime show they spell out in block letters Super Bowl. Myths die hard-a while ago I posted the front page of the Courier Express the day after the AFL championship game before the 1st Super Bowl & at one point it said Kansas City "gains Super Bowl". Somebody accused me of posting a photoshopped picture.
  24. If Trapasso had our 1st rounder as a 4th rounder on his board, he needs to stop drawing up a draft board. Years ago I used to draw up my own draft board. After I "drafted" JP Losman with pick 13 in 2004 and had Tom Brady on what I called "The Bust Board" in 2000, I reaiized it was time for me to just stop making a draft board. It's getting time for Trapasso to come to the same concluson. Here's something I found from Trapasso from 2018: Chris Trapasso @ChrisTrapasso Because QB prospects are apparently the talk of today. A reminder of my current rankings: Mason Rudolph [small space] Lamar Jackson [one prospect] Josh Rosen [small space] Sam Darnold [sizable space] Baker Mayfield [two rounds] Josh Allen 2:33 PM · Feb 19, 2018·Twitter for iPhone
  25. Another preseason game against Detroit. We better not get any kneecaps bitten off.
