  1. I used to go to all the suburban malls in the early 1980s.  My fondest memory was in Boulevard Mall when I got my 1st pair of glasses and I was amazed how different things looked as I was walking out of the optical store.  Things had been blurry for a while when I finally decided to go for an eye exam.

The State Government should have insisted on a dome.  Being a huge investor, they should want a strong return.  A dome means it doubles as a huge conference center.  Winter concert venue.  Final Four College Bball tourney.  Potentially a Super Bowl.  It becomes a huge draw for other non-football events.

Also location.  I get that the land is already owned but, the area South of the city gets spanked with the localized snow.  Being further north a few miles minimizes that issue.  It would also get you closer to Niagara Falls, a huge international draw to the area which would help with the whole conference center idea.

and lastly, regarding a snowstorm, YES a dome would make the game more likely to be played.  Hotels on site or nearby would house the teams and officials etc who could walk to the stadium.   Maybe fans can’t get to the game by car, but could potentially come by train/subway.

The rest of the state didn't want the Bills to get a new stadium at all.  The eastern NY papers & many of the politicians said some pretty nasty stuff about the deal.  Tack on another half billion & the pols in Albany would have killed the whole deal.  Remember when Zeldin wanted to renegotiate the deal when he ran?  That was the downstate attitude.

We're lucky there's any new stadium being built.  When the deal wasn't finalized my biggest fear was the wrong people would get in & Josh Allen would be the QB of the St. Louis Arch.

  3. Just got back from a trip to Finheaven.  A bunch of Anti-Tua posts with the winner going to a person named "Aquapride1" who suggested they trade with the Texans for Davis Mills.

Here is the post after the title "How about Davis Mills?"

The Dolphins should acquire Davis Mills from the Texans.. He is young and an accurate passer who this off season McDaniels could develop into a highly effective Dolphins QB.

Then the 1st reply was this:

You should take the pride out of your username as you clearly don’t have any.

    The Aqua doubles down:

Obviously Mills is not as skilled a QB as CJ Stroud, but Mills is good enough to be an NFL starting QB and the Dolphins need that right now.

There's also a thread from earlier in the week where fans are complaining about Josh taking a victory lap in their stadium:

This guy just rubs me the wrong way. I can't recall any other quarterback essentially taking a victory lap around the opposing team's stadium.

I certainly can't imagine Tua doing that after a victory in Buffalo. Of course, Miami hasn't played well recently in Buffalo either.

Am I the only one bothered by that?

Some others tried to bring the guy back to reality by mentioning that a player can only do that when the road team has a large group of their own fans in the stands.

  4. I'm an E Edition subscriber & I got an e-mail saying there will be no print edition delivery Sunday.

Due to dangerous weather conditions and a travel ban mandate for much of our service area, delivery of the Sunday Buffalo News print edition will be deferred until Monday. We apologize for the inconvenience.

As a full-access subscriber, you can read a digital replica of the print edition online at buffalonews.com/eedition.

This Dolphins team has to go down as one of the worst collapses in NFL history. And it’s awesome. Can’t wait to peruse finheaven post game.

They sucked all year 10 of their 11 wins were against teams that had records in the bottom 13.

Not a collapse, just frauds beating up on the NFL's whipping boys.

Sorry, gonna have to disagree with you on that. Watson has ruined their future both in terms of the draft and their cap.

He hasn't ruined them that bad, they won 11 games in year 2 of the trade and should be even better next year with Watson back.  Meanwhile, Carolina is in big trouble if Bryce Young has to be replaced.  They might be in last place in the NFC south for years.

I think when you factor in the ridiculous and destructive contract for Watson, the award has to go to that trade.

It depends on whether Young busts or turns things around.  If he busts, combined with Stroud being the franchise in Houston, the trade will have set Carolina back much further than  Watson set Cleveland back.

This Browns/Watson trade is arguably the worst in history, even worse than the Herschell Walker trade

Carolina says hold my beer on the trade for the #1 pick last year especially taking Young over Stroud with the pick.

    No. 1: Chicago → Carolina (PD). Chicago traded a first-round selection (1st) to Carolina in exchange for WR D. J. Moore, first- and second-round selections (9th and 61st), 2024 first-round (1st overall) and 2025 second-round selections.[Trade 1]
