  1. Just to tie up loose ends, since this has degraded into name calling because everyone is out of legit things to say. This conversation is over. Thanks for participating.
  2. Wat news are you watching, even my local news ran the clip showing all three incidents.
  3. So everyone has resorted to name calling because you got nothing else. This conversation is over.
  4. No but Bush lied that Hussien had nuclear weapons to get the dems votes. Bush should be in jail, he has the blood of all those soldiers on his hands.
  5. Umm, no difference? Who's the idiot then.
  6. Far from it Chef Jim. I wanted to see your answer. But to answer your question about life insurance. To have or not have life insurance affects only the family involved with the death. Health Insurance affects millions and millions of people. When a person needs health care and doesn't have it and goes to the emergency room, it affects everyone else's premiums. Also many people are exluded by no fault of their own or the insurance companies get greedy. Most other if not all nato countries have broad health insurance polcies, we should as well. We are supposedly the greatest country on earth? Lets start acting like it. Why should the federal government get involved? Because it's job is to step in when an issue affects the country as a whole such as slavery, civil rights, self defense, a nation of un-insured people suffering from greedy insurance companies, etc. And please stay classy and refrain from name calling.
  7. Be cynical , just don't be chicken little like most around here running around saying were doomed, socialism, government run health care (It is still run by private companies but dont let facts get in the way). It's pathetic to see the hysteria around here. I believe in the government that it will do the right thing. It's republicans I am now very cynical and distrustful of.
  8. I love all the republicans bitching about increased costs when we don't have the money. But yet these same republicans seem to think we have plenty of money to fight to two wars in the middle east and and give away billions to other countries in support and aid. How about stop attacking counties and getting into useless wars and stop foreign subsidies and we will have lots of cash for healthcare, education, paving the streets and putting criminals in jail.
  9. Send a letter to your senator or congressman and suggest this as a new law. You'll probably be able to hear the laughter from your house when they open the letter.
  10. It's not mandetory, you can opt to have no insurance and pay the fine which is pretty damn small actually.
  11. How do you figure someone dying without life insurance is a burden? I don't see the burden. It is free to die the last time I checked.
  12. Just to clarify a point. It isn't government run healthcare. It's still the same insurance companies and HMO's, they just a few new rules to be fair to everyone.
  13. Didn't you just confirm what I said? I guess my facts are straight.
  14. Until you rent a car for the weekend and you have to take the insurance for the weekend. In California you have to have a car or your screwed, with the exception being San Francisico. But the claim the vast majority of Americans still holds true.
  15. Interesting concept. I'm with Kaiser currently which I am very pleased with. Sometimes I or my son will see a Physicians Assistant for general things that don't require a full blown doctor. They are highly trained and one step below a doctor, not sure if other HMO's or practices have the same thing. These PA's can help fill the gaps that your fearing.
  16. Is that the same group that shouted at lawmakers the 'n' word and spat upon other lawmakers and called other lawmakers 'faggot'? No thanks, I'll skip the teabagger movement.
  17. You guys are so over dramatic it is ridiculous. Wait a few years and you and every one else will be loving it.
  18. Not driving a car is unrealistic for the vast majority of Americans. How many people do you know that dont own a car or dont drive period? Even if it is to have a license and rent a car when needed. I only know one person that fits that description and it is because he is a mongoloid. So I feel it is a good comparison.
  19. They are for a reason. It's good civilized government that takes care of its citizens, way better than this Republic of the United States does.
  20. So callous to sit high and judge. I hope a bad series of events don't humble your opinion and see the other side of the coin.
  21. Dont be silly, check some of the hospitals around you, I'm sure you will find a few that are non-profit. People there don't work for free. No one works for free.
  22. No of course not. Non-profit means that income equals expenses, or if a surplus then save it for a rainy day.
  23. You gave reasons for the mandatory items listed. Which are correct. You missed the point tho, the government forces you to do things that benefit the popluation as a whole. Thats the job of governemnt. Forced auto insurance is similar to forced health care insurance. Uninsured motorists are a drain on the responsisble people who get insurance for accidents, medical costs etc. Now, healthcare, why force people to have health insurance? Because uninsured people end up going to emergency care and cost the insured people more by gettting expensive care without paying for it. Thats why this bill removes the exclusions for pre-existing conditions, cap limits, etc. Now if everybody is paying healthcare premiums then healthcare premium's should actually go down. Emergency rooms being flooded should go down since they can access regular doctors. Personally, I would have not added the kids till 26 option. Make them buy insurance on their own. Factor a minimum earnings that they can afford insurance and subsize the people below that mark. A healthy 22 year old should not have to pay alot for coverage. Most are pretty damn healthy. Then they have coverage if hit by a runaway piano or something. This is all my opinion of course, but the democrats agree with me and most other countries in the nato aliance.
  24. These are not just points but pain and suffering of real people.
