I'm not sure they got much either... Wentz is a basket case

I’m warming up to the JJ Watt idea
mushypeaches replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm lukewarm at best for anything beyond 1 year @ $5M But good grief, if we gave Josh Norman $6M for this past year, and left Trent Murphy on the bench for $9M, I can see the argument for wanting even the slowly rotting overrated corpse of JJ Watt -
Derek Carr reportedly in demand, could lead to trade
mushypeaches replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's funny because QB is actually becoming somewhat of a "fungible" position. There are a lot of excellent ones out there, and more coming out every year that look really good right out of the gate, or at least very soon afterwards. So that makes me wonder why any team would trade for anything less than the best. Any team that trades for Derek Carr deserves what they get. He's eminently replaceable -
Week 1 2021 NFL Season Schedule Prediction
mushypeaches replied to Like A Mofo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We will be in prime time one way or another for Week 1. If not Thurs night, then Sunday or Monday night. Book it now -
This hire is maybe great for 1970 when the goal was to matriculate the ball down the field and toughness actually counted for something when you could head slap, horse collar, clothesline tackle and all the sh*t that used to be macho and fun to watch Maybe someone in Detroit has heard that it's OK to pass the ball too and that the top teams in the league are really good at it. Might be good to have a head coach that realizes that too

Sorry man - disagree with you too. Everyone's been trying to key in our passing game all year and few have slowed it down, much less stopped it. There's little reason to go away from our obvious strength, especially with the way that rules are these days. Let next year work itself out. I'm concentrating on winning on Sunday. And the best way to do that is let Josh sling the rock all over the frigging field

The running game has to be there vs KC this week.
mushypeaches replied to Toyo321's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that the answer to this question depends a lot on Mahomes' availability for the game. If he's playing and close to full strength, strangely enough we might be running more - say 1/3 of the time. We are probably trying to control the clock more and not expose our defense too much. If it's Chad Freaking Henne at QB, then I say bombs away -
Jimmy Garoppolo headed back to the Patriots?
mushypeaches replied to BITE ME's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is no reason for Bills fans to be anxious about this development. Jimmy G has already reached his development ceiling which just MIGHT be average. He can succeed with all of the pieces around him, but elevate a team past just being good? Nah -
Cam Newton - “Mentally tough”
mushypeaches replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, he's got the "mental" part right... Newton has always been the ultimate "me first" guy. I wouldn't want him on our team for nothing -
Is Moss the best closer we have had since Thurman?
mushypeaches replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think that our ability to close games with the run has a lot to do with how often we're passing throughout the whole game. Teams can't sell out 100% to stop the run because they know that Daboll will still call pass plays and Josh will still drop dimes. -
The OP has a decent point in that this is likely how playoff teams are going to try to attack us. It's not rocket science, and even our weaker opponents this year have tried to utilize this strategy. But can they stick with it for 60 minutes if we're putting up 30+ pts? I have confidence that schematically we'll prepare and adjust to teams that try to run against us

Ohio State QB’s and Us.- Update Haskins cut!
mushypeaches replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well, he'll have plenty of time for strippers and purple drank now... -
I don't fear Daboll as an opposing HC. He's grown into an excellent coordinator. But running your own team is an entirely different ball of wax. Control what we can control. The rest is gravy

I don't want to see Jake Fromm until August 2021 at the earliest. I don't care if he's TB12 reincarnated. This season is about Josh Allen and how far we can go Anything else is just unnecessary noise

Minshew an option as backup QB?

Meh -
Good WGR Topic/Question this morning.
mushypeaches replied to billsbackto81's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My vote is on Pat Williams far and away. Having that run-stopping DT that can also penetrate would help solve a lot of potential matchup problems that we might have in the playoffs. I feel like that's our biggest risk (besides injury) -
Last Time We "Clinched" the AFC East
mushypeaches replied to NoHuddleKelly12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was at that game - thoroughly enjoyable. IIRC that was the game where David White snatched an INT out of the air in the 4th Quarter
