Do folks just not understand that we won 6 straight games at the end of the year with Diggs pretty much being a non-factor? The whole "we just gave up on 2024" narrative is just ridiculous given the weapons that we still have (and still have a draft and FA to acquire), plus another year of prime Josh Allen on the team Frankly, I'm super glad that Beane made the hard decision NOW rather than go through another season of declining production, and off-field drama, while taking targets away from a younger receiving crew

We're going to sign a veteran safety at some point soon - that way Beane can fully hedge his bets in the draft Especially since there's a lot of unsigned guys out there that at some point, the prices will start to come down Heck - even Hyde might decide to come back and can be had at a relatively low price That way, they can draft a safety in the middle rounds and ease him into dime looks and ST to start

Ridder traded to the Cardinals for WR Moore
mushypeaches replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dan Marino played 6 pretty good seasons after tearing his Achilles, and I believe they made the playoffs 5 of those years Yeah he was still pretty good -
There's nothing to be bitter about - you can't judge the trade by how the TBD draftee works out - even if it's Justin Jefferson or Patrick Mahomes That's results-based analysis and really doesn't have any bearing on whether Beane made the right decision or not He traded a low 1st round draft pick for a known, proven, high-performing player, at a known cost Diggs has performed at or above the level we expected That's a solid trade any day of the week from a Bills perspective It just so happens that the Vikings are probably happy with the results too... although I'm not sure they won any playoff games and will have to pay Jefferson if they want to keep him...

What if Allen and Mahomes swapped exact situations?
mushypeaches replied to first_and_ten's topic in The Stadium Wall
It burns my eyes just having to look at this post I love the Bills and I freaking hate Kermit Mahomes It would probably damage my soul permanently to have to root for him -
That's some pretty hefty money for a 3rd string RB

Why not see if Sammy Watkins, Marcell Dareus, and Marshawn Lynch can come out of retirement so we can bring back all of the late-drought era malcontents!
-
You just can't have a ST'er making that much $ knowing that they offer nothing in terms of depth to the team. Yes, it's nice to have those guys but they become a luxury when you have to start paying your star QB Tyler Matakevich can wave goodbye too

Can you imagine if the Coach had still been doing radio during the Jauron or Marrone eras? On the plus side, if Ralph actually was listening to WGR, he might have fired Jauron "it's hard to win in the NFL" much earlier Marrone might have actually tried to instigate a fistfight with the Coach And Rex would have just hung out with him at the Old Country Buffet

Jets grant Zach Wilson permission to seek trade

Why would you trade for Zach Wilson when Josh Rosen is still out there and available??? -
Unused tickets of the comeback game
mushypeaches replied to Bills4life1924's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've kept the ticket stub in my wallet for most of the past 30 years. It's in significantly less than pristine condition... It is a great conversation piece though and I love to have it handy when I meet folks in bars or tailgating. And to this day, it's still the loudest, craziest crowd I've ever been a part of -
Let’s hope we never have to make an awful no-win choice like that again

WR or Dlineman? What would be your main priority..
mushypeaches replied to BillMafia716ix's topic in The Stadium Wall
The goal of this game is to outscore your opponents. With an elite level QB like Allen, I want elite level skill players surrounding him Until we get a defensive coaching staff that can actually scheme like Spagnuolo, it's not the right use of resources to surround them with top draft picks. Let them make do with what we have and it might just be good enough But we can't keep scoring 10, 20 points in these clutch playoff games against top QB's and expect to ever get a ring -
Bills Open With 4th Best Odds to Win Super Bowl Next Season
mushypeaches replied to Doc Brown's topic in The Stadium Wall
People can talk all they want about injuries, coaching, depth, etc If you've been watching the WWNFL the past few years, it basically comes down to this: If the league wants your team to win, if it boosts ratings, and makes them $$, then your team will win I've resigned myself to this fact, and it makes the inevitable failures and screw jobs from the league that much easier to handle personally. -
Hot Mic Baker Mayfield returning to Bucs
mushypeaches replied to BaaadThingsMan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It shouldn't be a mystery - he behaved like an arrogant punk and not worthy of a second contract. Would you want the Bills to pay that guy if we had drafted him? -
Sexy Rexy interviewed for Cowboys DC position
mushypeaches replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is freaking hilarious and only the Cowboys would even consider a sloppy, disorganized, lazy coach like Rex Like a guy who's been mailing it in on TV for the last 7 seasons, at 61 years of age, is all of a sudden gonna start putting in 18 hour days to run a defense? Let's go get a f***ing snack! -
Bills Draft Needs - From the Athletic

WR in the 1st round is almost an absolute must I will lose my lunch if we take a safety or DL in that spot -
Should the Bills trade up for their own “Julio Jones”
mushypeaches replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
Holy crap, have people not learned 10 years after Sammy Watkins? I don't care how good you think the WR is - you don't trade future #1 picks for anyone other than a QB That was true then, it's true now, and it will still be true in 10 more years. -
What's your personal Bills win/loss record?
mushypeaches replied to BritBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
37-15 since my first game in 1991 (playoff victory vs KC) 6-0 this year, with the oddity of Kyle Allen making an appearance in each game Even though I live in Harrisburg PA, now that my kids are grown, I try to get up to Orchard Park as much as I can, plus hit road games in my geographic area (Baltimore, DC, etc) -
Davis, Benford, Rapp and Spector all OUT
mushypeaches replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
Neal got zero snaps on defense the last game. We've seen him try and guard Kelce in the past... lot's of holding calls is about it -
I don't think that anybody in Miami's front office, including the owner, has the stones to make the difficult and painful decision here Tua is never going to be more than he is right now. He doesn't have the physical tools or leadership abilities to be what Josh Allen & Patrick Mahomes are today He's just good enough to keep winning in September & October and in warm weather - when conditions are right and he can play in rhythm with talented teammates But even though this franchise is probably scared to death of not having a high performing QB, the right move is to trade him now, rip off the band-aid of other high $ contracts and start over But they'll never do it, and I for one am thrilled...
