  1. Hope Buddy "Little Big Man" Nix gets it right!
  2. I've fallen and I can't get up!
  3. In return for a 3rd round pick we get to rent Osi for the last year of his contract after which he will leave us when we justifiably refuse to overpay him for his last chance at a pay day. I'd rather draft our replacement for McGee/McKelvin/et al, our #2 WR or our OLB than to have Osi next year (and I'm an Osi fan, watch him each week from my home in Jersey).
  4. Lavonte David = happiness
  5. I'm a trade down kinda guy and barring some miracle we ain't got a partner to trade down with. As I indicated, there are plenty of big WRs so I don't see us trading up for Randle (maybe Hill, though i did have some fun mocking this very move). Fleener is intriguing because he would produce from day one but I think the Gronk/Hernandez flavor of the month is driving up the value of these TEs. Regardless of the target, trading up is going to cost us David or Wagner (our 2nd) and the BPA CB (e.g., Trumaine Johnson, Casey Hayward, Dwight Bentley). That's too rich for my blood!! Maybe next year we'll be ableto afford to make a move like this.
  6. He coulda been a contender....
  7. I thought we're trading back into the 1st so we can draft Stephen Hill. C'mon, Hill supporters wake up. BTW where are all the Alshon Jeffery people? Buddy has been consistent on at least two points regarding this draft: (1) DE talent is weak (hence our bold FA moves); and (2) there is depth at WR--which is why we won't be trading up to grab Randle or any other WR. Fleener is the only player I'd trade up for. You give Fitzpatrick Floyd and Fleener to complement Stevie, Freddie/CJ , Chandler and you've got some nice, young talent at the skill positions on offense.
  8. No way he gets by Miami. The only trade up scenario would involve a team trying to leapfrog Miami and since we draft AFTER Miami a trade up would not benefit us (Jags would be the likely beneficiary--sorry guys).
  9. Of course you make the trade. He's a legit stud LT in ANY draft who is worth giving up a 2 even if he"only" last 7 years. The beauty of our FA signings means we now have the flexibility to make moves like this. As Buddy noted, there is depth at WR so no need to panic there. We can still nab our OLB with our 3rd and then add a CB with one of our 4s and go BPA for the rest of the draft. Now that I've wasted all this time typing, Kalil ain't dropping that far.
  10. Even if the Vikes are stupid enough to pass on Kalil, he won't make it to us.
  11. For those of you who haven't heard, Peter King claims the Jags like Gilmore and will nab him at 7: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2012/writers/peter_king/04/20/mock.draft/index.html I really think Floyd is our boy. He's legit BPA (especially since the talent between 10 and 20 is so damn tight) and we need a 2 to complement Stevie because Meachem was too rich for our budget. Hope we get David in 2. Then we go BPA CB in 3. In 4 we can go BPA OT and maybe give Fitz another weapon by taking a TE with our other 4. Regardless, this draft will be fun because the FO made 95% of the moves they needed to. Be happy folks!!
  12. I gave up on that pipe dream about a month ago when the "experts" issued their edict that the Dawg Pounders would be going with Richardson. Prior to that, I thought he was a legit potential trade up target. I just don't see who there is left that is a trade up target at 10. Seems like our only chance for a trade up would be if some GM smokes a fatty with Kirkpatrick and Adams the night of the draft.
  13. Let's see how many people miss the small print!!!
  14. I would take Peyton Manning or Walter Payton but I wouldn't take Walter Peyton or Payton Manning (I'm "ha, ha" funny).
  15. Anybody who is talking about taking Hill at 10 and who has denounced taking Reiff or Martin at 10 is a hypocrite. You wanna talk about a reach at 10? Hill would be the epitome. Don't get me wrong, the kid might be a stud one day but everyone on this board has repeated the same mantra over and over - the 10th pick in the draft must be able to step in and produce from day one. Number 10 can't be a developmental pick. Here are some quotes about Hill: "He is a raw receiver with big upside and a high ceiling." " Isn't a real polished route runner because of the scheme. Is asked to typically just run vertical routes where he can track/height point the football. Has been asked to work from the slot, but seemed to round off/drift in and out of his breaks. And isn't real sharp or sudden in that area of the game. Watching his short area quickness and body control for a big guy he looks like he can certainly develop in the three-step game and has the skill set to be able to beat press coverage off the line." "Is going to need some time to develop." Sounds like a guy you take at the bottom/end of the 1st round. That said, if he's somehow there for us at 41, I'll have wood!!!
  16. I had that same epiphany 2-3 weeks ago. Hairston is our LT for now. That means Floyd is our pick. If not Floyd, then a CB at 10 and then a WR (e.g., Sanu) at 41.
  17. Coples. Let someone else try to motivate him.
  18. There is no way in hell that a DT will be the pick at 10. You actually think we're passing on Floyd, a corner or OT to take a DT at 10? DL will be addressed at the earliest with our 3rd pick. I'd play it safe and guess we use one of our 4th rd picks for DL depth. The only way I see a DL being taken earlier than that is if 1st rd DL talent drops to 41 (stranger things have happened).
  19. Would you like to discuss the virtues of Panasonic's new line of plasmas (the ST50 is a kick ass set that can be had at a fair price especially in light of the great improvements they've made to their new line of plasmas). I'd also recommend not bailing too early on the players you drafted in your fantasy baseball league. Last and most important, I recommend trying bacon pizza (not Canadian bacon!) before you leave this world.
  20. His Perry/Upshaw picks at LB for our 43 defense are silly (it was almost as humorous as when Sportsline's Rang and Brugler (???) continued to have Upshaw as our pick for our 34 defense LONG AFTER we'd announced the move to 43). NFP also seems to have this fascination with Adams--he's consistently been ranked as their #2 OT. While everyone agrees he has the tools and potential to be the #2 OT, the consensus is that he is a risky pick which doesn't = #2 OT. Does anyone else think there are "payola" games with these mock drafts (not necessarily $$ but perhaps access)? Not saying that's the case here but sometimes when these rankings are skewed it makes me wonder (and since I'm bored I thought this might be a fun especially since we've beaten every other horse to death. ). Who will be our "Deepthroat"?
  21. Here's the link: http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Inside-the-NFL-Draft-Bills-team-needs.html
  22. While it would be nice to have DeCastro, OG is not a position of need and he is also not the BPA at 10. We can hit both BPA and need by going WR, CB or OT at 10 (not going to re-hash the whole Reiff/Martin value debate if we take either at 10).
  23. What about Jerome Simpson? I know it sounds crazy at first blush but the guy only got 15 days and 3 years probation: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/04/05/jerome-simpson-jail-sentence-15-days_n_1407400.html At the end of the day, he's apparently not gonna be suspended for as long as you'd think because he was conviucted of drug possession not distribution. Found one source who claims it might only be 4 game suspension. Simpson is a quality, YOUNG, player who might be forced to sign an incentive-laden contract witgh plenty of protections for the team who signs him. Is he a bonehead, sure. However, with probation he's gotta be a good boy or else. Imagine Smpsdon coming in as our number 3 WR behind Stevie and Floyd in week 8 (gotta give him time to get into plying safe). Some might argue that he's a safer signing than taking a player who is coming off of serious injures... Now take your shots!
