So the platform says trump is going to end inflation. They never say what policies are going to accomplish this. Is it by doing mass deportations of workers and imposing mandatory tariffs on imported goods? That sounds like a recipe to spike inflation to me.

Look at gun ownership of men vs women. Women now have higher graduation rates from college. Many men are falling behind women on career tracks. In the teens and twenties, young women are smarter than men. The tragic non-disease deaths at these ages almost always seem to be men doing stupid things. Young men are often dumb, and get into trouble with the law or get injured/die due to poor risk assessment.

You can’t cut 25% in one year. If we started by cutting 5%-10% combined with minor tax increases/expiration of tax cuts/eligibility for benefits changes would be progress. We need to bend the debt curve on the graph to maintain faith in the American economic system.

This is good. Let’s have a real discussion of dealing with the growing debt. The politicians should also be doing this instead of making TikTok videos. What real solutions would you support? Personally I think there needs to be combination of spending cuts and tax increases. I would start with small but increasing cuts to social security, defense and discretionary spending. Increase taxes on wealthy and corporations, increase SS. and Medicare tax. America needs to learn how to and think about living with less to begin to address the debt. Ignoring it and dumping the problem on our kids is irresponsible.

Hamas is just fine with Palestinians dying. Palestinians support Hamas. The left wants Biden to stop the war. Nothing is logical about any of this mess. What a SNAFU. Applying logic from our western perspective is probably doomed to fail.

Because the question is dumb. If you ask 10 people you might get 10 different answers. I know people who left for sunshine and warmer weather, others to be near their kids, etc. People come and go. Many people leave NY for CA and vice versa. Many go south to FL or TX. I know people who have moved from the south to NYS too. Many leave NYC and CA due to high rents because of high housing demand. There are advantages and disadvantages to wherever you choose to live. MAGA likes to paint Dem states as unlivable hell holes. Anything that isn’t Trump/MAGA approved is the worst thing imaginable. It’s all part of the cult mentality. I know plenty of people in NYS who would never move to TX or FL if you paid them. If people don’t like where they live, they should run for office or move.

If you are unhappy, then move or go get therapy. It’s a free country. We are allowed to be happy even if it goes against the MAGA narrative.

The discussion isn’t about tax policies. My comment was about Blitzy was calling CA & NY the top two dictatorships. I wish our government could go back to the days when they had real serious debates about tax policy.

The MAGA crowd loves to hate on America and fly their flags upside down if they don’t get their way. I see a lot of happy people in NY and CA. MAGA wants you to think they are the worst places on earth.

This day reminds us all that freedom isn’t free. Democracy isn’t guaranteed and requires sacrifice to stand against tyranny. Today, that tyranny is Russia.

Neither side wants peace. The war will continue until one of them says enough. Hamas views their people as expendable. They are willing to sacrifice every civilian so long as it hurts the international standing of Israel. So the question is, when will Hamas say enough, let’s agree to peace, or when will Israel say enough?

Trump is a Loser again today in court. Every time he goes to court, he winds up losing. He lost 34 times today. Multiple juries, multiple judges, multiple cases. Everyone around Trump loses and spends time in the clink. Republicans would be so far ahead if they turned the page on him and moved on to someone else to lead their flock of sheep.

If there is a tech solution to spot marking the ball I’m for it. Remove the subjective parts to eliminate ref bias or ineptitude and opportunity to fix game results. One less thing to argue about.

They a bit koo-koo too. These mass petitions for people to be ousted from their jobs when they have an opinion that differs from yours is stupid. It’s happening now to these university presidents who are enforcing civility on their campuses. America is the most diverse nation on this planet. All sides of every spectrum of every issue are present here. This is all a grand experiment by the founders of this nation. If this nation is going to survive, we all need to figure out how to live with each other. That begins with tolerating others who might think a bit different on an issue than you do. Everyone needs a bit thicker skin and calmer mind and not be so offended by others. Social media is the worst triggering people to be offended at stupid stuff. It’s a free country. We have choices. If you don’t like the kicker, don’t watch the team. If you don’t like the colleges investments, pick a different school to go to. But people shouldn’t be calling for others to lose their job just because of their opinion. That doesn’t mean that you can’t lose your job if you say something stupid.

The other completely predictable thing about this story is some white guy gets publicity for his anti woke opinion and instantly becomes the best selling whatever as all the cultural conservatives rush to buy whatever to show off their support. I think it’s just weird but predictable mass psychology of conservatives. On the opposite side of the political spectrum, no one can agree on anything.

This story is the dumbest noncontroversy. If drag queens can be celebrated, what’s wrong with Butker expressing his viewpoint? Free speech for all. Personally I think he went a bit too far in his opinions but I defend his right to say them. Diversity of opinion is the American way. As long as he is not promoting violence, we should be supporting tolerance of other opinions, even if we disagree with them.

Sure. And if Biden doesn’t win, we B word and moan for four years and then vote again in free and fair elections. That’s the American way. Only one party seems committed to that way now though.

This country is so evenly divided, only a few states are going to decide the election. And in those states, the undecided, uninformed voters, those who don’t pay attention to the issues, those most susceptible to misinformation are going to decide those states and the outcome of the election. That’s where we are at.

I’m not a fan of the process, I’m just saying it’s been happening forever. When this country began the government gave huge tracts of land to the wealthy. Counties give tax breaks to developers to corporations to build malls, stadiums, etc. Feds have given billions for decades to oil, gas and agricultural corporations. The tax code is written to favor the corporations/wealthy. Republican mantra of tax breaks for the wealthy and Trickle Down economics. Everything about America favors/helps the wealthy. The working class are there to support them, unless they can be replaced for cheaper labor or robots.
