Legal Immigration is what makes America great. This can be done in a secure and humane way but both parties need to agree on the path forward. Biden isn’t even attempting to address the issue. Republicans don’t offer any serious proposals other than build the wall. It’s been a problem for decades. Both parties are responsible for this mess. “What a mess” truly applies to this issue.

The border seems to be an issue that neither party really cares enough about to solve. Both parties seem to think it is to their advantage to leave it as an unresolved issue. Both parties use it as a money maker for their campaigns. This is not a hard problem to fix. Neither party appears willing to compromise to fix this solvable problem. This issue is a classic example of our broken politics.

Allen and Mahomes are artists on the field creating plays that weren’t in the design of the play call. Mahomes did it on his short TD pass. Herbert looks like a technically proficient QB who plays the position by the book. When things break down, I haven’t seen him create offense tonight.

As Fanhood said above, if we had a functioning government this wouldn’t be the mess of an issue it is now. I think Grahams proposal is a great start for the discussion. I don’t agree with it but I give him credit for putting something concrete on paper. I don’t see any other senators doing that on either side. I’m all for let’s have a national debate on the issue. Women/fetus having different rights depending on what state they are in is stupid. That’s why the court ruled on it years ago but both sides like the battle.

Graham’s proposal is a national ban after 15 weeks. States can have more restrictive laws if they want. Only exception is to save life of mother and for rape. No exceptions for malformed fetus often discovered after 15 weeks. For a party that always said it was a state issue, it didn’t take long before they want to use the Federal government to take rights from women in Democratic states.
