I think ultimately, Trump is just fine with all of this. He loves playing the role of the poor victim. He will have a whole bunch of new material for his act at his rallies. He can use it as a call to action to suck more money from his cult. It keeps him in the news. The angrier his followers are, the happier Trump is. No one loves playing the role of the victim more than billionaire Donald.

It appears in this case that a crime was committed. That is the removal of documents from the White House in violation of the Presidential Records Act. I haven’t seen anyone dispute the report that he removed at least 15 boxes of documents. So you mean like when James Comey and Andrew McCabe were targets of an intensive IRS audit.
-
No one disputes that Trump removed over a dozen boxes of documents when he left the White House. Everyone knows when you take the job that all records stay in the archives. You are there to serve the nation and you leave with nothing other than what you brought in. There have been reports of Trump shredding, burning and flushing documents while he was President. So why would he be taking classified, secret documents with him to MAL? Anyone there to serve the nation would make sure that all documents are left for the records. There are literally no good reasons to take the documents, unless he wants them for illegal purposes. I’m sure at some point, we will learn what this is about. Let the legal wheel turn.

The difference in health between democratic vs republican areas apparently is a real issue. I remember hearing about it recently on radio. I would think that as more laws impacting our health get shifted from federal level to state level, that the disparity in the health gap will widen. https://www.forbes.com/sites/madelinehalpert/2022/06/07/republican-counties-have-higher-mortality-rates-than-democratic-ones-study-finds/?sh=7fbeefb65c6a https://www.npr.org/2022/06/13/1104529561/the-partisan-divide-can-undermine-americans-health-researchers-say

The January 6th Commission To Investigate The Insurrection
Andy1 replied to Tiberius's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Regardless of the exact number of listeners he has, he has made millions of $ pushing lies about dead children. It’s hard to get more evil than that. -
Can someone explain the rights fascination with Orban? Are they now just openly endorsing anti gay, no mixing of the races ideology? I mean WTF. This is America, the melting pot of the world. We’re not some homogeneous white European country that no one cares about.

The January 6th Commission To Investigate The Insurrection

I want to know who is dumb enough to commit a federal crime by voting twice when there is no guarantee it will even be effective. There are always irregularities which occur among all voters, regardless of their party affiliation. -
The January 6th Commission To Investigate The Insurrection

Sounds like there may be a rare moment of consensus here. Can we all agree that the prosecution of Alex Jones is a good thing? -
What is better, no guns, or more guns?

Please tell me what a criminal on the street looks like so I can tell the good guys from the bad guys. -

At what point does the right to carry guns interfere with the rights of others to live a civil, peaceful life without the threat of violence? Do we want guns in our churches, bars, football stadiums, shopping malls, etc? Can I take my AR15 to Foxboro when the Bills are playing? Can crazy Dolphins fans bring theirs to Highmark? At some point, there has to be limits. -
Biden's Foreign Policy Already GettING Results
Andy1 replied to Tiberius's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
NATO is what has allowed peace and prosperity to occur in Europe the past 70 yrs. It’s unreal how many representatives in the Republican Party are willing to weaken that alliance to please the former guy. -
Kansas is a state where Trump won in 2020 by 14.6%. Republican Party has a problem.

If you would like a comedic break… -
If you approach this issue from a religious perspective and believe that life and rights to life begin at conception, I can respect that. I don’t agree with it, but I’ve got friends who have that position. People can agree to disagree. The only thing you say is trust the process without explaining what your position is. Should womens health be a consideration in allowing abortions?
-
Deek - Don’t try to paint me as some kind of pro abortion radical that believes it should be allowed till moment of birth. That’s never been my position. If we are going to play the extremist game - are you a some nut that believes womens lives don’t matter?
-
I guess if you look at the situation from a detached point of view, Trust the Process could make sense as this is all part of the evolution of American society. Having this attitude certainly keeps your stress levels lower. Every action causes reactions. This will eventually cause unexpected changes for those states that travel down the path of strong bans that are not supported by most Americans. In the long view, I think these state laws will eventually moderate as the suffering of women becomes apparent and women vote the bastards out. Before that happens though, many will suffer. I think there is some truth the the saying that “People get the government they deserve”.
-
On the issue, people who say you can’t trust the government to do anything right are suddenly 100% confident that women can trust their health care to politicians. The more I learn about the abortion issue, the more complex I realize the medical issues are that docs are forced to deal with in the context of these new laws. I would love to see a Republican legislature do the right thing and give doctors adequate leeway to protect the health of women. If anyone sees a model of good legislation, post it here.

Hey, all of us living in a 1st world country are complicit based on our carbon footprints. It’s no easy problem to solve but it is doable. I’m not here to lecture anyone but since you asked… Personally, I drive a 2008 sedan 14,000 miles per year that gets 27 mpg. I don’t fly. I live in a modest single story home without AC and try to conserve on heating. I try to buy Made in USA and/or local when I can. Like everyone else, I’m part of the problem but I try to help. How’s your carbon footprint?

After Fitz, I think Tyrod was the best drought era QB since he helped break the drought. The guy was all class and a team player. Yes, he doesn’t have the talent or skill set of Allen but I’m happy he was a Bill.
