From a legal standpoint this is an interesting case. It will involve the decision of what is a reasonable and prudent use of force in response to verbal threats. The marine was probably trained in the use of lethal force and probably understood the outcome of maintaining a chokehold on someone. Neely didn’t appear to be a physically imposing person. The subway is a constrained space magnifying the threat level since people cannot distance themselves from him.

Did Jordan Neely physically assault anyone? If he only threatened with words, then the issue is if one can use deadly force in response to feeling threatened by speech. Neely had mental issues but that alone doesn’t justify killing him.

The only video I’ve seen is one guy choking another guy on the ground. Apparently witnesses say the black guy was threatening others with his speech. Is there video of what happened before the choking took place? I’m not claiming to know anything about this incident. That’s why I’m saying let the legal process proceed.

The DA knows more about this case than any of us. Why the rush to judgement? DAs have these types of difficult decisions, to charge or not, every day across the country. Judgement is what grand juries and juries are for.
-
I don’t believe that. If he is innocent, I have faith in our court system to determine that. Let the process play out. Do you believe people can kill others indiscriminately?

Let the court process play out. You can’t say Kyle Rittenhouse is innocent due to a not guilty verdict by jury and then say Penny can’t get a fair trial.

The big lie must never die and the number one commandment in the cult is “ Thou shall not say anything that contradicts the lie”. Truth is what we want it to be.

Trump town hall on cnn

Nothing new… lies lies and more lies. I don’t understand why R voters believe this compulsive psychopathic liar. There are so many other sane republicans who could lead the party towards a new vision for the future. Instead it’s obsession over revisionist history from a delusional fat guy. -
Trump has previously publicly committed to a national abortion ban. So apparently it’s now not about State rights. He would sign a nationwide ban bill in an instant.

Religion is certainly less relevant to most people than years ago. There are a lot of reasons I think including money scamming preachers living millionaire lifestyles and the massive sex abuse scandals in the Catholic and Southern Baptist churches. Maybe the press has just exposed these church scandals where in the old times, no one dared to question religious authority figures. Here is an interesting graphic showing that religion is still much more important to Americans than Europeans.

Other than being a Ruuski

Russia did not invade because of Biden. Putin has had his eyes on Ukraine for a long time. While people here won’t say they support Putin, if Trump were in office, Putin would own Ukraine now. Biden organized the allied opposition to the war crimes of Putin. -

This is an added bonus. Ukraine has Europe's third largest shale gas reserves, at 1.2 trillion cubic meters (tcm).[22] There are two potentially large shale gas fields.[22] The Yuzivska gas field located in Donetsk Oblastand Kharkiv Oblast, and the Olesska gas field in Lviv Oblast and Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. -
What is better, no guns, or more guns?
Andy1 replied to Security's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And what about the rights of the dead, wounded and their families? No one is talking about banning all guns. The majority of Americans want common sense laws to address this issue. -

I’m waiting to see what happens in an open carry/stand your ground state when one guy with a gun meets someone he doesn’t like who is also carrying a gun. Each of them feel threatened by the other so I guess whoever shoots first wins and gets to walk away. Welcome to the Wild West in America. -

So for all the people who say we need more good guys with guns, why isn’t Texas one of the safest states? Presumably there were armed people in the mall where the shooting happened. That didn’t stop it from happening. 8 dead, 3 in critical condition. Think of how many people were impacted/ traumatized beyond those dead or injured. More guns = more bloodshed. -
100% agree.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Andy1 replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I still don’t understand the whole mask conspiracy. Yes, the messaging on masks was inconsistent. When the pandemic first spiked, there was a mask shortage. Hospital workers were reusing masks because hospitals couldn’t find them to buy on the market. Officials were not urging people to wear masks because they wanted to reserve them for high risk hospital workers. Later, as the worldwide supply of masks increased, they urged people to wear masks to reduce transmission. The pandemic also hit in waves. When community incidence was high, people needed to wear masks. When it waned, masks were not needed as much. This was a once in a lifetime event. Of course messaging from health officials working in a political world would be inconsistent at times as the government navigated through the mess. Through it all, hospitals and medical staff never changed their opinion on the effectiveness of masks. So people can believe the consensus of the worldwide medical community on masks or some twitter head putting together video clips and factoids dredged from the internet. Remember, Trump also said injecting disinfectants could get rid of Covid. And some idiots actually did that to themselves! -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
Andy1 replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
If masks don’t work, why did medical staff treating Covid patients in all countries wear and continue to wear masks? Are they all dumb? Masks have always been a standard practice in medicine to reduce infection risk. Go work in a Covid ward without a mask if you believe masks don’t matter. -
We need a real life, live Buffalo pregame
Andy1 replied to Snappysnackcakes's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not a fan of the idea of a live Buffalo at the games. Buffalo are wild animals and have no place inside a stadium of 70,000 screaming fans. Never needed one before, don’t need one now. -
Are we more deserving of the SB hype this year than last?
Andy1 replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well Cowherd has Bills ranked 4th in AFC behind Chiefs, Bengals and Chargers. -
I wonder the same… or if they feel they have to say it because it’s the party line and those who do not talk the party line are ostracized from their group (cult). “Believing it”, even when they know it’s false, allows them to rationalize J6 and everything else. It would make an interesting psychology study.

Bills sign Latavius Murray to a one-year deal

6’ 3”, 230 lbs. Another big player to make our offense more physical. Bean is following the characteristics he looked for in the draft as he remake this offense.
