Looks like Donald is trying to emulate his buddy Putin. He’s got palace envy. Price of beef is crazy high but he thinks America wants a ballroom. The idea that MAGA would be saying “it’s just a building” if a Dem pres did this is laughable.

No she doesn’t, but I wouldn't care if she did. Most immigrants come here with little money, so they live in low income, higher crime areas. It’s always been that way. I’ve worked my butt off and am fortunate to not live in those areas. If you don’t like where you live, then move - it’s the American way. Now down the road in our neighborhood is a more established black immigrant extended family with a pile of people living together. I know one of the guys is a garbage truck driver and a woman works in health care as an aide. I think they moved in for the school district for their kids. They fit in fine and have done a nice job fixing up their house.

I thought that was funded with private donations too. I would offer that the east wing has significantly more history associated with it than the tennis court. The East Wing is just with the First Ladies work area. I need to remember in this new age of Trumpism male dominance is in, and the history of Nancy, Barbara, Hillary, Laura, Michelle, Melania, and Jill can be forgotten.

And those renovations, were interior decorations and converting a tennis court to a basketball court. They were not the physical destruction of the building because he had respect for the history of the building. Trump doesn’t understand the concept of respect.

When my father was dealing with dementia at age 90, we had caregivers help clean his apartment, clean him and prepare his meals. By far, the most caring and best caregiver was a black Muslim immigrant woman from Gambia. Most Americans wanted to spend more time on their phones than attend to his needs. Any of one of us may be in his position some day if we are lucky enough to live that long.

You talkin to me Gramps? The Biden approach and Trumps are polar opposites. There is a wide spectrum of enforcement options between them. Like most Americans, I want a secure border. Like most Americans, I want some pathway to citizenship. Like most Americans, I view immigrants as positive to America. Like most Americans, I don’t want masked goons snatching people off the street. Like most Americans, I believe legal immigration should be easier. Republicans have always said that they could not discuss fixing the immigration system until the border is controlled. Well, now is the time, but obviously they were lying before and are just anti immigrant, unless they are whites. If they were smart, they could own the issue/victory and propose something Dems would be forced to vote for, but I don’t see that happening.

If there is one thing I’m sure of, it is that Trumpers are completely flexible on their principles. Trump has proven that over and over again.

So here is Trumps plan for the People’s house. Strange, I never heard of any public process to this project. No public notice or discussion. One would think that it would require approval through Congress. I guess a king needs his palace, nearly twice as large as the White House. Hopefully whoever comes after Orange will take a wrecking ball to it.

Look at J6, Tea Party protests, Michigan capital takeover etc. Each side has their nuts, just different flavors.

Interesting contrast between the two parties protests. Dems are riding bikes naked in Portland, in other places wearing goofy outfits, costumes, dancing, singing, etc. Republicans wear leather jackets, carry their assault weapons, bring their nooses, bats, hockey sticks or other clubs and wear their paramilitary gear.

Amazing how there is talent like Tez Johnson to be found in the 7th round of the draft. Good on him to show his stuff.

It’s stupid either way. Call me a traditionalist but I’d rather not have each president remodel the White House at their whims. It’s a historic building that belongs to we the people. Not the temporary servants who reside there.

If Obama did this, Fox and Republicans would go bonkers for 24/365. With Trumpy, it’s “who cares?”. Of course the government is bankrupt but this is necessary and wise use of public funds.

Does anyone remember the demographics of the Tea Party protests? And now those people are fine with tariff taxes. Such is the politics of America.
