  1. My cousin, Bryn is a wide receiver for the Tampa Bay Breeze. She was always a great athlete through high school and college. She plays because she loves football, and this is really the only outlet for females to play football. I haven't talked to her much over the past few years, but from chatting with her on Facebook, she loves the LFL and doesn't care about the skimpy uniform; she just wants to play! I need to talk to her more about it, though. I don't even know if she gets paid or anything. Need to get her defensive teammates to take Angela's head off as revenge for Super Bowl XXVI...
  2. Ooh, I'll have to ask my cousin who plays in the Lingerie League to sack Rypien! See if she can do what Bruce Smith couldn't: sack a Rypien.
  3. Schopp and the Bulldog mentioned this briefly yesterday around 4:15 or so, for what it's worth (not much really). They were cautiously excited about what this could mean. Bulldog wanted this to be like the beginning of the Pegula rumors. They actually likened this to Pegula's daughter leaking the failed attempt to get Brad Richards on her Twitter account.
  4. Dude, didn't you watch the "X-Files" during the '90s? The Cigarette-Smoking Man clearly commanded in a meeting during one episode that the Bills would never win a Super Bowl as long as he was alive... I guess he's still ticking!
  5. I'll never forget Dan Dierdorf's call early in Super Bowl XXV: "This game is starting off very nicely if you are a fan of the New York Giants." /cringe
  6. My cousin, Bryn has a page on MTV. Here she is looking pretty buff. I used to play catch with her when she was little! Kinda feels creepy thinking of that now... And I feel old!
  7. I have a cousin who plays in that league... Not sure how I feel about it, but she loves it!
  8. I agree. But I've talked to fans of other teams who think that's crazy talk. They seem to think missing the playoffs for 11 straight years is less humiliating than losing 4 straight Super Bowls. Must be Stealers fans who wouldn't know what missing the playoffs even feels like.
  9. Jake Locker looks interesting, especially if he falls to the second round. It seems like he could really benefit from learning behind Fitz for a year or so, and practicing with NFL-quality (well, Bills-quality) offensive talent.
  10. I wouldn't like the pick and I'd be pissed for awhile, but Patrick Peterson and Prince Amukamara are supposed to be pretty damn good. What if one of them are deemed the "best player available" when the Bills pick? What if they do become star players in the NFL? This team needs a star player at some position.
  11. Monday Night Football on the road is tough. I'll never forget the Bills' MNF game at Kansas City in '92 or '93 when the Bills lost 33-6. Christian Okoye and Barry Word were unstoppable with that loud crowd behind them. The Bills then returned the favor in the Playoffs later that year in Rich Stadium.
  12. Barry Sanders easily made lots of Pro Bowls on horrible Lions teams... Of course, that was Barry Sanders. But it can happen.
  13. LOL! Bruce must have been licking his chops!
  14. That's what I've always thought. Like Thurman Thomas returning to Buffalo from Florida; in Florida, he's just some lesser-known former pro athlete. In Buffalo, he's the Thurmanator: should-have-been MVP of Super Bowl XXV!
  15. Of course we are! You've been watching Buffalo sports much longer than me, you should know!
  16. They'll just have to draft him the following year, then. I doubt their record will be much better...
  17. The only hope for Maybin is that is he is very young, and can hopefully get bigger over the next year or so. He's no doubt fast, but he needs more power... Heh. Has anyone heard that "Aaron Maybin: Dance Instructor" spoof on WGR lately? Like last year's "Hey There, Trent Edwards" song, it's hilarious!
  18. If I was in Luck's shoes, I'd think about doing that, too. Though Jim Kelly thought the same thing coming out; he decided to try his luck in the USFL even though he was drafted by the Bills. Since then he's become a local superstar after a HOF NFL career, and married a Buffalo gal. He's lived here ever since, and remains pretty devoted to WNY. Maybe Kelly can take Luck to lunch like he did Tebow, and "persuade" him somehow!
  19. I want to see improvement throughout the season. The overall record isn't important to me. I don't mind if they lose often, as long as they look "good" doing it. At least look capable and competitive against other teams, and give everyone a tough and hard-fought game. I'd like to see some of the young guys emerge and develop into great players in preparation for a future run through the playoffs. I'd like to be able to think "they're almost there - just a few more pieces and they'll be ready to hit the playoffs". If they do win a lot of games and really surprise everyone, that would be awesome. I don't expect a lot of wins, but I'd love to see them. I want to see progress, though for sure.
  20. I've always thought Marv was as a great leader of men, but not a great Xs and Os guy.
  21. True. Even in the '90s when the Bills were good, the national sports media (besides Chris Berman) rarely discussed them. The Dolphins were always expected to win the AFC East. Every year Miami was finally supposed to get that running game to complement Dan Marino, and they were going to dominate the AFC. It never panned out, though... Heh. I remember the ecstatic announcers discussing the arrival of the "unstoppable" Sammy Smith, who was going to propel Miami to their rightful place in the AFC Championship...
  22. I was listening to WGR550 on the radio while doing some yard work over the weekend. ESPN's "Inside the Huddle" was on with Jeremy Green and John Clayton, and they were discussing this year's potential "break out" players in each division. I was interested when they got to the AFC East, but disappointed when they discussed break out players on the Patriots, Jets, and Dolphins, with no mention of the Bills at all. They simply moved on to the NFC East... The Bills have absolutely no players of interest to anyone outside of WNY. Their only mention of the Bills during the entire broadcast was when discussing Washington. All they said was "The Bills are in for a long season; and that's being kind." They then broke into uproarious laughter... I grew up during the glory years of the '90s. But I've come to realize what an anomaly that was. This is how the Bills are supposed to be. They are historically a laughingstock; they've just gotten back to normal since that brief '90's anomaly.
  23. You could argue that Warren Moon is only in the Hall of Fame because he benefited from the Run & Shoot... Stupid Bears fans!
  24. One more person here to thank you for your reports! It really seems like Roscoe Parrish is getting a lot of action in camp, as he's always one of the most mentioned receivers. Maybe this coaching staff can finally use him "properly" unlike previous staffs? It'd be awesome of he really steps up to the challenge.
