  1. as long as we're sharing homebrew approaches, i've settled on grilling wings. I start from frozen, put them on a hot grill, sprinkle Goya seasoning (the red kind in the foil packets) on them, and turn them over, a lot, at least every 5 minutes. They take usually around 40 minutes until the skin is crispy but the meat is still moist. Take them off, toss them is Franks Red Hot with a touch of sweet BBQ and some home made smoke powder (jalapenos & habaneros smoked for a couple hours, dried in the dehydrator, then ground fine) and serve with Rudy's BC, which they've started selling at Wal Marts in the Capital Region Good call on Sutters! Cheap beer, good wings, darts, and Danny the bartender was a great guy
  2. and dont forget the $1 32oz drafts on Tueday nights my liver hasnt forgotten. I still have a couple of those big green cups around somewhere
  3. I'll also let you rookies in on a secret...order them extra crispy. Very few places (especially outside of Buffalo!) make properly crispy wings. I've finally broken the takeout places near where I live and they make the wings correctly. No, they insist, soggy slimy wings are what people want!
  4. lol, im in the same boat. I've been to Elmo's, and love the wings. Before I moved out (30 years ago), i used to go to the Raintree Inn in Tonawanda. No idea if it's still there but pitcher of Molson and a dozen hot wings and I was happy
  5. The other think to consider is that as often as not, some local tavern is going to have fantastic wings. Ask the locals. For my money Duffs is better than Anchor Bar, but when I'm in Buffalo, i'll go to Lebros before either edit: an out of town example of this is (was) Putzy's Tavern on Yates St in Albany. Just a local gin mill that the Albany City workers would come get liquored up at during lunch, that I used to live across the street from. They made fantastic wings
  6. You're making a point here, it's just the opposite point of what you think you're saying
  7. I'm a huge Van Miller fan, but not sure at this point I'm taking his word for much.
  8. So, they're going to force teams to forfeit? What does that solve for exactly? Vaxed people (I am vaxed, my whole family is vaxed) can still get COVID. So what happens if a team is 100% vaccinated, and through no real fault of their own, has enough people get (a very very mild) case of COVID? They have to forfeit a game even though they followed the rules? Yeah, that's going to go over really well. I guess they think the intense shame it'll generate will make everyone double down and...get a third shot?
  9. Sam Huff was 6'1 and Nick Bo was 5'11". Both at least a standard deviation taller than their age peers 5'8" puts our poster in the 34th percentile for American adult males. Doug FLutie could dunk on him
  10. Sometimes people take stands on things that might not make sense to others. A lot of well meaning people don't seem to grasp that "but it's for your own good" is not an infallible argument.
  11. This thread will get locked, and this post will get deleted, but the reality for the NFL, and the rest of our civilization, is that if we sit on our hands and demand that everything grind to a halt until we have some number of months with no new cases, we'll never get there. Like every single other viral epidemic in history, we will eventually learn to live with COVID. The arrogance of Government and an unfortunate number of citizens is that there is some magic bullet to get on the other side of COVID. There isn't. As I asked yesterday (in a post that some tweaked out mod deleted almost immediately), if the NFL starts forcing forfeits, are they going to refund tickets? Are they going to pay back DTV for that portion of what they paid for broadcast rights? Are advertisers going to get their money back?
  12. Oh yeah, I am 11 feet tall, and weigh 17 tons. I break mountains into pebbles 3 times a day, then climb to the moon for cardio I have plantar fascitis though
  13. are they going to refund tickets to those games? something tells me probably not! The pain is for thee and not for mee
  14. Nothing says dominant football franchise like a nice rouge and some fake eyelashes
  15. that was great, TY for sharing. I'll never forget on draft night, how upset how many of us were about wrong Josh.
  16. anything, please, to talk about something other than Da'Rick Ertz
  17. I for one am shocked to hear that Dwayne Haskins has been involved in unsavory business
  18. That's a great point. I'm familiar with the inner workings at AT&T and it seems to me that there's not a lot of stomach for pouring money into a losing scheme any more. DTV is bleeding subscribers, and while I think the DTV streaming only offer is a pretty good option for people who want packages of channels, there just isn't enough back end on it to continue to subsidize the NFL in the hope that you'll add enough subs to make up for it. Either Apple or Amazon are going to way overpay for the sunday games, which means all of us will be expected to overpay as well, or that those business will subsidize the NFL. Apple is the one ecosystem in which i'm not really participating, and not terribly eager to enter in to. Not to mention that my big sports TV is out of HDMI ports lol. At some point, each of us has a number in mind above which we're going to find alternate ways of viewing the games, or just find something else to do. For me, i think approaching $50 a game makes me lose interest, or at a minimum find alternatives. In any case, it'll be interesting. The NFL has managed to defy gravity against most other forms of televised sports, the next few years will be something to watch
  19. Yes, human beings need to be brainwashed to enjoy beer. Also, up is down, and day is night
  20. Yeah if Brady couldn't find a way to use him, then good luck wherever he ends up
  21. Its true, they're absolute garbage, which is a shame because their spicy chicken sandwich is legit. I mean how hard is it to turn the fryer up a little and make your fries crispy? Anyway, they're building a Wendys right up the road, so i'll have a lot to complain about coming soon
  22. Da'Rick had more receptions as a Bill, albeit in camp. Putting Ertz on the wall of fame before Da'Rick would be the greatest travesty ever foisted on us long suffering fans. Of course Ertz gets to go on the wall too, but not before Da'Rick
