  1. Yeah to be clear, he played like hot garbage yesterday To be more clear, he was probably the best player on our O Josh Allen failing is pretty far down my list of concerns. The O-line playing with JV level competence would be a massive improvement. I'd be giving those huge contracts they handed out a long look
  2. Agreed. All focus has to be on the Jets. The Bills better be in control from the kickoff. I have a bad feeling though. Unless the Bills OL gets its act together this week it'll be another long Sunday. Watching them lose sucks strait up, but watching a boring grind of a game like yesterday, it's not worth the time. This might be a good one to DVR and catch up with after, or not!
  3. All it's going to take is a big play early and the Jets will get hyped and it'll be another long day. The Bills are a delicate flower that are finesse based. All I'll ask of the O if that's the case is to take as long as they can off the clock in 3 downs to give the D a breather. Who knows, maybe the Jets will fumble 90 yards into their own end zone and we'll have a shot at the mysterious and nearly unachievable 'touchdown'
  4. We could always do worse, like we are right now
  5. The problem with the current DL drafting philosophy is that you're spending your highest draft picks on part time players. Are any of the DL getting more than 50% of the snaps? Sure, the rotation is good but if we cant keep our QB upright, even holding the other team to 9 points isn't going to be enough. We'll see if our O can achieve double digit points against the jets
  6. Alternatively, Yes So let's run with your take, that the Jets game isn't looming extra large this season. Let's say the Bills lay another big turd and lose Now they're 5-4 with Indy coming in next week. What do you think will change between the Jets game and Indy game to make you think the Bills can beat a .500 team? Frank Reich is a great coach, and has functional vision. in other words, he can see that you can beat the Bills by dropping 7 every play. That's all the Bills are going to see until they prove they can beat it. Does dogballs have it in him to figure out some plays to get around that, or will we see more of the same? to finish my thought, if the Bills manage to fudge up the next 2 games, that'll be 3 in a row, and they'll be .500 and probably looking up at the Pats. they're simply not built to overcome that
  7. Yup, that's really the big takeaway here. Urban Meyer is Rex Ryan without the charm. McD does not get a pass. I'm starting to think he;s a better coach at getting to .500 with a lousy team than getting to .750 with good one
  8. It's hard to win in the NFL, a great coach once said
  9. New Bills catchphrase alert "On any given Sunday, the Bills can, nay WILL, lose to any team, regardless of record, discretion, or valor"
  10. Just imagine getting thoroughly outcoached by that guy. I hope McD is miserable today
  11. What you're describing is culture though. working hard every week, showing up each and every game, minimizing mental mistakes. If that's not culture than what is? And if it is culture (and it is) then either McD is preaching a bad culture, or he's lost the locker room
  12. We've already seen it. When DL are there before the WR can get to the outside it's a guaranteed loss of yards also while we're talking about cutesy playcalling, let's have more of those passes that are 5 yards behind the LoS to the sideline to the RB that always lose at least 3. Surely one of them will break for a big gainer!
  13. Not that I expect genial HC McD to sully himself in this regard, but I'd make the team watch the game over and over again. Before practice, during practice, and after practice. If there's a single molecule of pride anywhere on that team it'll piss them off
  14. You joke but the cancer is already in the locker room Not saying OBJ would make things better but what we saw yesterday, and even last week, is a team that is a team in name only, a bunch of guys in business for themselves
  15. It really is a 100% honest read of what happened. The Jags played with heart, the Bills played like a team who would prefer to avoid the playoffs. Not sure why, is it coaching, a toxic mix of players, some other factor?
  16. Remember when House Ballard whiffed on a block and after getting up off the carpet, Jim Kelly grabbed him by the face mask, pulled his head down to his level, and raged at him, in front of God and Everyone? good times, man
  17. I think this as well. There's something we don't know. The OL doesn't care if Allen gets killed or not, and don't appear to want to break a sweat either way
  18. The Bills are soft mentally. They certainly have plenty of physical skill, and the games they have won are because of that. They showed a little mental toughness against KC, but then again, that was mostly emotion boiling over from last year. Other than KC they havent beaten a good team this year, and now have lost to a terrible one. Other terrible teams will notice that if they play with enough intensity the Bills will fall apart and run for the bus. Never mind peer and near peer teams that are well coached like the Saints, Pats, and Bucs. Today, that looks like 4 losses. Will 10-7 get them into the playoffs? Even 10-7 assumes they win the games they should like against the Jets. Right now, i don't see 10-7 getting in, and if by some miracle it does, we'll let out another long sloppy fart in a road game like yesterday Going forward every team is going to smell blood in the water and come after the Bills. The question now is, do they respond in kind, sack up and play better, or do they fold up and limp across the finish line?
  19. I wish I shared your optimism.
  20. Yeah the Jags DL, which is below average, lived in the Bills backfield yesterday. I'll say it again, we have an OL who managed to stay upright and not get their jerseys dirty all game long, and a franchise QB who looks like he went through a meat grinder. For whatever reason the OL is playing badly, with no passion, and seemingly no regard for Allen's well being. Right now I'm worried about the Jets game, which i can't believe the Bills are favored by as much as they are, but as things stand now, the Bills are going to be underdogs to the Pats, and deservedly so
  21. The Pats play the sort of disciplined football that this current iteration of the Bills just can't figure out. A good friend of mine is a Pats fan, and in fact worked for the team for years. He's as sober as they come when it comes to football analysis and is way out on top of our pick 6 league. he watched the Bills the last few weeks and said there's a cancer on that team that nobody is talking about but you can see it on the field. At first I told him he was crazy but not, not so sure!
  22. I suggested benching Allen to keep his head attached to his shoulders, not as punishment. Until the Bills field at least a C- OL, we're risking the franchise to...prove a point? But go on defending the status quo, it's definitely working well
  23. Because within a half second of the snap there are 4 DL in the backfield
  24. Really? You don't see an existential problem with this team? I guess if they get smoked by the Jets next week you'll assure us that it's not really a problem? I mean if you dont want to see fans complaining after a loss like yesterday maybe a fan forum isn't for you?
