What Heath Farwell said about Bills punter Matt Haack
dorquemada replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haack obv had a bad game last week, but can't completely discount conditions. If Farwell is being strait with us, the calculation is, does Haack's holding ability outweigh his lack of punting ability? His punting hasn't been terrible and I'm not sure it's made a difference at any point this year. I think we're more likely to see a game decided by a field goal rather than punting? -

Wonderlic Test Eliminated from Pre-Draft Process
dorquemada replied to Wayne Cubed's topic in The Stadium Wall
"The 40 yard dash measures strait line speed over 40 yards. It doesn't measure much else" "The 225lb bench press measures how many times a player can lift 225lbs. It doesn't measure much else" I guess if we don't think these individual metrics matter, then what's the point of the combine, or even scouting? Ability to read, quickly assimilate information, and understand abstraction are all critical functions of a modern football player. A much more believable argument against the wonderlic is that the test itself doesn't measure anything relevant to football. If you're arguing that a player's intelligence has no bearing on their football skillset, then go on and make that argument. The notion that it's not fair to hold a poor education against a player is odd. I'm not aware of any other human endeavor where we make excuses like this. Oh, you want to be a Civil Engineer but cant read or do calculus? We we certainly don't want to hold that against you! Go on, build that bridge! -

An advanced degree in stats would help you do an actual multivariate analysis to determine the strength of the correlation between Wonderlic scores and football contribution. I think somebody has drawn a conclusion here, but i doubt has done the analysis -

I expect the degenerate gamblers weren't as happy, but for us normies, a win is a win, in a situation that has vexed us this year

Did Josh Allen go rogue on the 4th and 1 run.

...in a thread where we're discussing if Allen improvised on a 4th and 1? Sure thing, thread cop -

Allen is better in every single way, dont get me wrong, but Flutie had a real genius for 2 things 1) running the broken play offense - i think he preferred it in fact. The guy almost never took bad sacks, and Im not sure i ever remember him taking a deep sack 2) never took the big hit - even when some LB had him dead to rights, he never took a direct hit, like Allen does several times a game I get it that part of the reason is that Flutie was 5'3 and Allen is what, 11 feet tall? That was the thing though, Flutie made people look foolish multiple times every game. Short of the Pork Faced Satan coming up with using a MLB as a spy on him, his schtick might have won us more games -

Leslie Frazier's interview Monday 12/13
dorquemada replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's almost like Frazier's D is designed to look good statistically, but comes up small in big games don't worry, as long as we draft 5-6 tweener DL in next year's draft, we'll be fine -
Do the Bills have any 2007/2011 Giants playoff run in them?
dorquemada replied to Another Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
This version of the Bills cant win close games. This version of the Bills also can't play a 60 minute game to save their lives. We either see them come into a game shot out of a cannon, get a lead then fade over the strech but still win, or we see them not show up until mid 3rd quarter then have a furious effort that falls short in the end. They aren't mentally strong enough to endure the playoffs -

Outside of QB, where are we better than the Pats? Somebody please say DL Rotation. I need a laugh today -

What have you seen from this team to indicate that they could beat NE? Especially in any sub-optimal conditions? Not sure you've noticed but even with a 'sub par quarterback' they're the #1 seed right now At this point i'm hoping the Bills can stay ahead of Miami. that sure would be a shtshow to finish the season in 3rd place in the AFCE -
Titans, Pats, KC, Baltimore, Indy Basically the playoff teams, or any team with a living RB and varsity level OL.

In fact, we've lost every close game we've played in. Are we going to back into the playoffs and start blowing people out? It seems more likely, based on the reality of who this team is, that we'll show up to games ill prepared and without a plan, and maybe come around in the 3rd quarter and try to make it a game. that's not a recipe for going anywhere I hope that McD is a good enough coach to take a hard look at this season and make some difficult decisions in the offseason.
