  1. lol you're a genius, thank you.
  2. I'm cringing so hard right now and yes, i remember seeing this on channel 29 while watching star trek reruns that and the FIGMOS commercial. I didnt imagine that, did I? My sister remembers it too but have never found it online
  3. I played around with some of this (it was in SPSS, and it was 30 years ago, but same general idea). Once I got the model set up and power ranking the teams they way I thought it should, I went back and played with prior year stats and tried to back into a predictive value. I will say, it was a whole bunch harder then because there wasn't a million websites with stats to copy/paste. For that matter, the web itself only barely existed though I did find a FTP repository with historical NFL stats. The net was a formula that could most weeks come in +2 games for the week which was enough to keep me in beer and skittles and confound my bookie. Oh, Ian, you never saw it coming! Anyway, my suggestion is run last year's stats into your model and see how it does.
  4. Do we have some kind of logic around this or is it just the NFL preferring KC to Buffalo? 5 in a row makes no sense
  5. Money shot!
  6. Oof that draft day thread. We aren’t a bright group, are we?
  7. I love that in one of the pictures she's drinking a Blue light That's how we know she's from Buffalo
  8. Like someone else said, neither particularly likely at this point, we just have to hope the Bills can play consistently enough to beat the teams we're supposed to beat. They're going to have to clean up the mistakes or this is going to be a Season of Regret and we already have enough of those
  9. By 'Team Leader' I really meant first amongst equals where everyone is responsible for the result and not what we have seen a few times where everyone stands around and waits for Allen to pull out a W. He's obviously the undisputed leader of the team in the locker room, but we need more out of the other 52 on game day
  10. Like i said elsewhere, looking at the next few weeks, Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs, then the bye. Things are easier after that so even if they go into the bye at 2-3, but have most of their starters back going into November, they can make a run. Having said that, the injury rate isn't sustainable and a few more starters go down for any period and it's going to be Josh Allen and 21 JAGs It just sucks because you know damn well that this division/conference game is probably going to cost them home field
  11. He needs to break the trend of losing close games. It's an expectation now, if the Bills arent leading by 14 going into the 4th, they're probably going to lose. To one degree or another, that is absolutely on coaching.
  12. at this point let's take our lumps, dress the janitor if we have to and recognize that probably means fighting for a playoff spot. I expect we'll be reliving this game for a while coulda woulda shoulda but this is where we are now. Let the guys get healthy and maybe we can field a NFL level starting lineup by week 10?
  13. I've been saying for a couple years we need less Superman Josh Allen and more Team Leader Josh Allen. I wont judge too much based on yesterday that was a perfect storm and they still came pretty close
  14. Miami is a good team, tough as nails, and it was a bad day in terms of injuries and weather. These things are cyclical and will work on our favor some other time. In any case it was a pretty great football game, and kind of exciting that we have a real division rival, and very much looking forward to seeing them play on 12/18 in Orchard Park. Hopefully we can field a complete team by then
  15. Thanks for the reality check, and glad you spent time watching your son today. Mine came home from Uni this weekend in part to watch this game.
  16. where's Conrad Dobler when we need him if we're taking a penalty let's make sure it's worth every inch of 15 yards
  17. I like the City, i have friends there, but agreed, the Browns have become unlikable in a way I didnt think possible, like a Heel in old school wrestling
  18. This might be my favorite thing i've read here
  19. Pats lack in team speed. They were running the ball pretty well on 1st and 2nd down but Noodles Macorkle cant finish the job on 3rd. I've never seen such gently thrown passes in the NFL before.
  20. It's a good point, i'm trying to think of another trade that worked out so well for both parties
  21. Chiefs are a big game nemesis until we prove otherwise Same to a lesser degree for the titans
  22. I grill my wings, which i've found results in a crispier wing, to universal acclaim. Proceed thusly; The Wings 10lb bag frozen wings from BJs or your wholesale club of choice. I used to cook them from frozen, which works fine but results in at least 20 minutes more on the grill. 10 lbs fits comfortably on my weber 4 burner grill 6 packets of Goya seasoning, the red kind. Preheat the grill, full blast hot. Once you put the wings on the grill, sprinkle the Goya on the wings so you can see red on each wing. Apply to opposite side once you flip them, after maybe 10-15 minutes. This adds flavor, but also helps them crisp faster. It'll take them 30-40 minutes overall. You'll know they are done when you press your finger into them and the skin is crispy. They will finish asymmetrically so turn down/off one of the burners and pile up the finished ones until they're all done. Transfer inside in your favorite stainless steel bowl The Sauce Do this while the wings are grilling. you'll have plenty of time Melt about half a stick of butter in a 2 or 4 cup pyrex measuring cup. 2 cups sauce total is a good amount for 10lbs of wings with some to soak up on the bottom. Once butter is melted, add about 1.5 cups of red hot, or if you like the red hot extra hot. I've tried some other hot sauces, which are OK but I think Franks is really the one. Add a couple squirts of your favorite sweet bbq sauce. Then, and this is the most important thing, something to add a little smoke. I have a powder i make every year where i smoke jalapenos and scotch bonnet peppers, dehydrate them, and grind them up. A liberal pinch of that powder adds some real depth of flavor to the sauce. If you dont have that (and you should have that) a couple drops of liquid smoke is a reasonable substitute Stir that all together, maybe put it in the microwave for a minute so the butter doesn't congeal in the sauce. Pour it over, mix them up, and serve. I like Rudy's blue cheese, but pick your poison.
  23. hot take inbound: Daboll was a good to very good OC who occasionally had lapses in judgement where he got either too cute or too predictable with playcalling. Dorsey, if he can avoid that, will be as good if not better
  24. you dont care so much that you came here to tell us exactly how much you dont care and oh by the way heres what i do care about
