It's up to the individual though. Yes, of course, the Bills are going to be somewhere between terrible and sub par this year, if yesterday is any indication whatsoever. Each of us though can choose to do something else with our time. Sunday afternoons in upstate NY should be treasured, spent outside while the weather holds, not spent in front of a TV watching another half hearted effort by a team mailing it in. I mean, if they couldn't get excited fro the game yesterday, what hope is there for any other game? Thursday night, I think I'll take my son to the range and put some holes in paper.

Yeah, nobody circles the wagons like the buffalo bills on their way to a 6-10 season, considered by most to be overachiving after losing 85% of their original projected lineup to drug suspensions, paper cuts, murder charges, sadbrains, and in several cases, getting lost on the way to the stadium never to be found, your 2016 Buffalo Bills!

Watkins: injured or just trying to leave the Bills?
dorquemada replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mean, do you think you're being clever by point 'if' out? It's ALL if. IF sammy's foot doesn't get better, his career will be cut short, and our #1 will be Robert Woods. How about that, I can do that too -
Watkins: injured or just trying to leave the Bills?
dorquemada replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll see I guess. If Sammy misses time due to injury, again, or plays, but at a reduced level, at some point we need to accept the reality that he isn't going to be elite in the sense that he has to be planned around. I mean he's better than most bills 1st round picks, but that bar is pretty low -
I think it finally happened for me today. After the bonehead penalty that gave the Ravens a 1st down on their FG in the 3rd or 4th, I said to my wife, let's call it a day and go for a walk, it's really nice out. She said, they can still win! to which I replied, nope, not this team with this coach. 6 points down with 15 minutes left is an insurmountable lead against this team this year. I'll be sure to check back and eat crow if i'm wrong, but I'll toxx myself and predict that the Bills wont win a single game this year where they are 6 points down going into the 4th. We went for a walk, ran into some neighbors, it was nice. I looked at my phone when we got back to see, to the surprise of exactly nobody, the Bills finished like a wet fart. It's not just a lack of skilled players, because in the abstract you can probably argue that they have some pretty good players, on paper at least. It's that they are poorly coached, and the only time they show any fire whatsoever is when they're committing personal fouls. Furthermore, and I think this bothers me as someone who manages people for a living, they are clearly an undisciplined mess. Between the penalties, and all the off the field nonsense, it's clear to me that few of these players take their profession seriously, nor have any fear that their behavior carries any sort of consequence. That's 100% on management, either in that they continue to pick players with all sorts of warning signs around them, or that the tone that has been set by management and leadership is bad, immature, and unprofessional. I've been a fan for 40+ years, thick and thin and all that, but I guess i've just gotten to the point where the loyalty is one way, and the team is happy being mediocre (let's hope they can achieve mediocre this year, maybe the pundits saying 6-10 saw something we didn't, or didn't want to). I'm also an Alabama Crimson Tide fan, and the difference between a program run by talented pros versus one run by clown school dropouts has never been more obvious. We'll take our pleasure watching Alabama, because even when they lose, they're fighting. I wish I could say the same for our Bills, but i'm finally forced to admit, there wont be playoffs this year, and i'm going to take my medicine and realize it now rather than when they go on a 3 game streak in november only to lose the last 5 or whatever and break our hearts again.

Outside of a few Fantasy sites I read, pretty much nobody is paying any attention to the Bills O, even with the success they had last year. It's almost as if they're just sniffing eachothers farts and writing whatever comes to mind

So, what, pick Slauson up at the airport in the Bills staff car, the Honda Fit? -

I'd like to see what Miller has this year, but honestly, depth on the OL is a luxury we havent had in so long, I dont see any downside to this. Go get em, Whaley! -
RD 2, Pick 41: LB Reggie Ragland, University of Alabama
dorquemada replied to Beerball's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm with Bill on this. Ragland is a special player, who had the benefit of great coaching and being surrounded by other solid players. I'm not sure that any of this applies under sexy rexy, but I can promise you that Ragland will work harder than anyone else, and any lack of results will not be for a lack of effort. -
Fitz calls his shot -Update Signed w/Jets
dorquemada replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This Fitz fellow, I decided to look a bit further into him, and I've come upon a piece of information that you might all find enlightening and useful. It turns out that he is, in fact, a graduate of Harvard University! I think that this would be of interest to the various concerned parties, and that the broadcast organizations and their play by play teams should be made aware of this, stat! -
Johnny Manziel (update: waived by Browns)

Or RG3. Either of those guys would be dramatically preferable to Johnny Football. I hate to say that because he was a force of nature in college. -

There were other 1 loss teams besides MSU and OU edit: this also helps my point; 1 loss teams NOT in the SEC got killed in the playoffs. -

http://www.mcubed.net/ncaaf/tvc/sec/acc.shtml It's not 'insecure' to point out that the SEC is a harder conference than the ACC. Playing in a harder conference increases your chance of a loss. Do you think Clemson would have gone undefeated in the SEC this year? Minimally, they would have had to beat both Florida and Alabama to get into the playoffs. There's a reason why Alabama with 1 loss was still a top 4 team, while other teams with 1 loss weren't considered, unless you think that the whole playoff system is built on SEC chauvinism. -

Saban said they practiced that exact play every day since last June waiting for the perfect moment, and that the players were warned not to smile as to not give away what was about to happen -

God you're dense. A lot of Watson's yards came on either broken plays, or designed runs. That was nice, and looks great on the stat sheet, but is going to get your QB killed. Yes, Clemson played a great game and scored a lot of points. No, I did not expect Alabama to 'wipe the floor' with Clemson. There have been plenty of people claiming that Clemson was the better team, when that's not how this works. I think some posters here are so starved of good QB play from following the Bills that they look at it as a more significant factor in winning games than it really is. Watson played a fantastic game, except the interception, and a few bad throws that should have been intercepted (and since we're seeing lots of what ifs, what if those were intercepted?), but it wasnt enough, and Clemson, had they had more balance, might have won the game. Sorry if you cant understand all those words. -

I really liked the 92 team for the way they dismantled Miami in the Championship when nobody gave them a chance. The playin game on that (SEC Championship) against Florida was one of the best football games I've ever seen, college or pro. Maybe that team lacked in superstars (not sure any of those guys ever did anything in the NFL - I remember the 2 DEs were high draft picks but were pretty middling) but as a team they were fierce. Clemson was a great team from an average conference. They'll be back next year in all likelihood, and maybe this time Dabo will tell his kickoff team to cover the field, and his D to cover the TE. And don't let a RB run for 158 yards and 3 TDs. -
CFB National Championship game
dorquemada replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thanks for the lecture, dad. My response was originally to this idea that somehow Alabama stole the game, and Clemson got ripped off. Alabama used their strengths, and exploited Clemson's weaknesses, to win the game. There is more, afterall, to winning a football game than flashy QB play. it was a great game, but started to become clear in the 4th quarter that Alabama was going to grind them down, which is what happened. I also agree with the other poster - if Clemson played Alabama's schedule this year, in the SEC, they might not have been a top 10 or 20 team. -
Instead of calling himself a miracle worker, do you think he could call himself a....saint?

Yet, Clemson lost. Weird, that. When they absolutely needed a couple scoring drives to keep up with Alabama, they couldn't. Without the garbage time touchdown by clemson (Alabama D playing in prevent to make Clemson chew clock rather than a quick strike), the game isn't as close as the score indicated. Clemson had a one dimensional offense and when your only weapon is your QB, an INT is, in fact, a pretty major mistake, especially when the other team doesn't make mistakes. The fact is, Watson HAD to play lights out in order for Clemson to be in this game. He had perhaps the best statistical game of any QB in the championship game ever, and still lost. -

Good post. Coker needs a situation like AJ McCarron or even our own Tyrod Taylor where he can go sit behind an established vet and work on his game. He has the size and smarts, but needs more experience. Sure, you could say the same about EJ 3 years ago, and be right. Perhaps if EJ had been able to sit behind someone and not get thrown to the wolves, he might have turned out better. -

I agree to the extent that Watson played a remarkable game. My point is and was that he was going to get killed out there, and he'll end up like RG3 in the NFL with 2 torn up knees. He had a great game, but threw an INT, and several others that should have been intercepted, killing drives, and leaving Clemson at the mercy of their horrible special teams, the difference in the game. -
